I live in one of the houses pictured on this site, and I can't say enough about Scott Raissis. To begin with, it is important to understand that Scott is both a great architect and a great builder. As an architect, he listens carefully and fully takes on board his client's perspective. He has the soul of an artist, but without any of the temperament or ego that can make working with some architects a bit intimidating. I have had several architects -- friends, family -- visit our house, and they are all amazed by the quality, inventiveness, and incredible level of detail. Inevitably, they will take out their phones to take a picture of how Scott solved some problem or other. Every choice he makes is both practical and attractive. As a builder, Scott is completely transparent on costs, totally organized on every detail of the project, and supported by an absolutely first-rated team of tradesmen. Basically, if Scott is on the job then you can stop worrying; you are working with the best.

We could not recommend Scott Raissis of Thompson Raissis Architects highly enough! We were lucky to have Scott and his team design our waterfront home in Greenwich, CT. Not only did we end up with the house we have always wanted, we enjoyed the process every step of the way. Scott’s attention to detail was incredible. He presented design elements that we never would have dreamed of, all while keeping the house true to its architectural integrity. Scott has long-standing relationships with all of the craftsmen needed to build a custom home. Everyone that was hired was truly on the A-Team, and we would not hesitate to recommend each and every one of them to our friends. In addition, Scott offers a building service that keeps the entire process in-house with fully transparent pricing and provides for a truly turn-key experience. The full transparency was so appreciated (and frankly novel to us since we had done a vacation home renovation previously with zero transparency). From start to finish (and even post-moving in) Scott has been there to make sure that everything was perfect. If you are considering a renovation or new build and want the best architect around, look no further than Scott at Thompson Raissis.

Scott Raissis is an A+ architect, and we wouldn't use anyone else! He is highly technical and knowledgable about home construction. He has a very hands-on approach, managing every little detail. He also happens to have a great sense of humor, which makes it fun to work with him. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to hire him (from among the many great architects that were recommended to us) for our renovation project. Our project was finished within budget and on time, largely, because Scott advised us on selecting the best contractors and then stayed on top of them. Lastly, Scott has a great team behind him (e.g., Cannon Chu). It has been 9 years since our project was completed, and we still consult with him (he has always been there for us). We couldn't recommend him more highly.

Scott and his team designed and built 2 homes for my family in southern Connecticut. They are incredible to work and have a deep knowledge of the design and construction process. Scotts creativity and quality of work is unmatched. His ability to turn your vision into reality is amazing. In addition, Scott is 100% transparent and is known for his high integrity. We were updated on a regular basis and there were never any surprises. Scott stays connected to his clients years after the project is complete to assure total satisfaction. I would highly recommend Scott to anyone looking to partner with the best of the best.

Scott is an absolutely amazing architect and builder and was a real pleasure to work with. He helped us to renovate a large house we had just purchased including a complete redesign and rebuild of our master bathroom. We can’t say enough positive things about Scott and have wholeheartedly referred him to any of our friends in need of design and building expertise. We always enjoyed interacting with Scott during our project – he’s incredibly responsive and really fun to work with. He has extraordinary attention to detail, from the original draft drawings all the way through to build-out completion. All his designs were very thoughtful and beautiful – he completely transformed our house into more than we could have dreamed. He was also very transparent with the billing throughout the project. We were always impressed on how he insisted that all work be bid out to multiple trusted contractors to ensure we were getting the best value for our budget. Even though we have completed our initial project more than 5 years ago, Scott still graciously helps us out when house problems arise, even those unrelated to his work. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to be able to count Scott as a trusted friend and can’t wait to work with him again in the future!

Custom, custom, custom. Scott Raissis and his team are real pros. Their knowledge base and skill set goes well beyond the ordinary. Creative, patient and talented. Contractors love them because there is no doubt as to how to proceed. Plans are in-depth and precise. Great taste. It’s about getting the customer what they want. I can't say enough positive things about Scott and everyone at TRA. We were his first design/build, and we couldn't have been more satisfied with the process and how hard he worked to make sure we were happy with everything. He is 100% professional and provided us with reams of detailed paperwork so we always knew where we stood budget wise. I still give him a call occasionally with a question or issue and he stops by, coordinates meetings if needed, and follows through to make sure things get fixed. It's really nice of him to do this as we finished our home over 10 years ago. If we have another project in us, Scott is our first and only choice.

Scott is the type of person who you work with and then all of a sudden you call him friend. He is honest, always follows through, only suggests high quality material at varied price levels, and he is extremely detailed oriented. He came highly recommended to us from friends and we have highly recommended him to others. He did a complete remodel design of our home and then oversaw the construction project. Scott ended up completing the project with his sources. Whenever we have a problem, even 5 years later, he gets involved and makes sure it is solved.

We feel so fortunate to have been introduced to Scott by another extremely satisfied client whose dream home was built by Thompson Raisis on the water in Connecticut. Scott designed a complete renovation of our home, adding square footage, raising ceilings and elevating the overall quality of our home. From beautiful architectural features, gorgeous moldings and quality materials, the result is a timeless structure. Visitors always comment that the home looks as if it were completed yesterday although a decade has past. Scott is a joy to work with. Always an upbeat attitude, thorough, and immediately responsive. Even today, he is ALWAYS available to assist with any maintenance question or recommendation we may need. We have found his suppliers and contractors , without exception, to be true professionals and among the best in their field without exorbitant fees. Scott is wonderful to work with. He is professional to the end, yet brings his humble nature and humor to every meeting. His attention to detail is impeccable, so we always know that whatever we miss, he will pick up and automatically include where it belongs - taking any worry away of something missing from a plan. The end result of ANY of our projects with Thompson Raissis, but particularly our latest remodel of a 1967 house, is beautiful, AND completely appropriate for the space. Never is there anything that looks like it doesn't belong. Scott always makes sure to steer us in the right direction, even when we want to veer off a little! We would never use anyone else. He's the best of the best.

Scott was amazing to work with through our entire project, starting with our interview of him. He immediately understood what we were looking for in an indoor and outdoor aesthetic. Scott's very first drawing(s) of our dream home incorporated all our notes and thoughts cohesively and needed very little tweeking. To this day we are complimented on our home's timelessness, warmth, space and character. We were very pleased with the Thompson and Raissis design and building process, it's end result, and the continued and timely follow up with maintenance and home needs. Scott was not only our architect, but became our good friend in the process.

Scott did a total remodel of a 1906 house in 2008. He did a brilliant job utilizing existing space, duplicating original molding, doors and windows, and turning our house into a total "Jewel Box". Its the fourth remodel I've done and there was not one argument or disagreement. Scott's attention to detail is superb, the subs he works with are craftsmen, he was on time and really worked to get the best quality for the price we were spending. It was such a fun year doing this project and I would highly recommend him.
