Swiatocha Architecture and Design is committed to providing well-crafted and thoughtful environments. Owner and principal Adrienne Swiatocha believes that the most impactful architecture results from a collaborative and supportive relationship between designer, client, builder, and consultant. Along with designing new construction, Adrienne enjoys the challenges of renovating existing structures where the intersection between historic and modern architecture can create a rich layering of space and architectural detail. Adrienne received her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania before joining KieranTimberlake Associates where for three years she contributed to the design of many institutional projects. She went on to receive her Master of Architecture at Yale University before moving to San Francisco. For eight years she was employed by Aidlin Darling Design where she served as a designer and project architect on many award winning restaurants and custom single family homes from conception through construction. Adrienne is a registered architect in the state of Pennsylvania (RA406776) and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Services in graphic design and photography, and home selection and furnishing can also be provided.

I don't typically give 5 star reviews but Swiatocha A & D earned this one. We just finished a complete Reno of our primary and Adrienne's work has changed how we view the entire house. I love being there now. She helped create a vision and plan for the space by striking the perfect balance between imparting professional opinions while working to understand who we are and what we wanted. For design, her aesthetic is elegant and cozy with a focus on details that have make our everyday life easier. On the architectural side, she is confident and professional and worked seamlessly with the contractor (whom she found for us). The pricing is fair and transparent and she managed our expectations perfectly from day 1. Highly recommend if you can get on her schedule.

We used Adrienne for a redesign of our primary bedroom and bath, and the end result was worth every penny! Adrienne really took the time to understand how we wanted it to "feel" and patiently guided us on selections to fit the mood. She helped us find the right contractor and craftsmen for the job and was very hands on during the entire construction timeline. Most importantly, her attention to detail and architectural knowledge ensured that the job was completed according to our budget and timeline. I would absolutely recommend her without hesitation!

We worked with Adrienne to create an addition and expand a room on the 2nd floor of our Philadelphia rowhome. From the start, she was so easy to communicate with. She clearly laid out our options and helped inform us so we could make the best decisions for our project. She was well organized and responsive. The end result instantly became our favorite room in the house! I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Adrienne again. I’ve worked with Adrienne on numerous projects as a cabinet/furniture/millwork fabricator, so my perspective of her work may come through a different lens than a client’s. Beyond her obvious and deeply thought through architectural/design skills, Adrienne is amazingly talented at holding true to the designed vision of the project, while also adapting to the inevitable realities and adjustments that arise during the construction/remodeling process. From my perspective as a fabricator, working on Adrienne’s projects can be stressful!.. due to the design and quality standard expectations inherent in them… but at the same time she is a steady, reassuring, and adaptive guide throughout the process, and the end results have consistently more than satisfied her clients as well as her collaborators. Adrienne brings all of the talents needed for your projects.

We live in a rowhouse in the Art Museum area of Philly. Adrienne designed the master suite, which was renovated shortly before we purchased the house. Every morning I wake up, look around at our light filled bedroom (in a Philly rowhouse!), and our lovely bathroom with a place for everything, and think, "this is not my beautiful house."

The completely renovated kitchen, and a new enclosed sunroom where there had been a useless outdoor deck, have completely changed the way I think about my whole living space. I can't overstate what a dramatic positive effect that has had on me and my family. Where we used to dread any sort of cooking project, and used to find it uncomfortable to gather in or near the kitchen, now we can't wait to be there—to cook for each other, to dine together in such an airy and sunny place. During the design phase, Adrienne quickly understood what my dream was and has the talent for realizing what it meant in materials and construction. The usual constraints—from dream to reality—hardly applied. I got exactly what I hoped for. It's been utterly transformative.

We needed an architect to update an 1870’s brick rowhouse, and Adrienne Swiatocha came highly recommended by a West Coast architect we know. We knew we needed her to relocate a poorly-placed powder room and expand the kitchen in a tightly configured first floor, both of which she did very creatively, simultaneously carving out much-needed closet space. What we didn’t expect was her responding to our needs and preferences by very creatively reconfiguring the third floor space to better accommodate guest room and billiard room/bar/home office. Early on, we agreed that we wanted her to challenge our ideas, and, throughout, we greatly enjoyed comparing ideas and aligning her more modern visions with our established preferences. We are embarking on another project, this time a 1900s bungalow , where we hope to use her creative expertise again. Connie & Tom McEvoy, West Chester, PA

Adrienne helped me fix a mess from a previous designer. She is detail oriented, works within in given budget parameters and stays ahead of dead lines. I was very happy with her work and recently hired her again for to a much larger project. I would highly recommend her to anybody looking for an architect.

Adrienne is a fantastic architect! It is a real pleasure working with her. She's easy to communicate with, she's responsible, she's attentive, and her design work is flawless. We hired her to redesign most of a 3,000 square feet single family home we bought in Philly and her work exceeded our expectations. We wanted to add bathrooms and transform an entire floor making better use of space. Her plans were excellent and the end result is really fantastic. Overall, I have zero complaints and only great things to say about her.

Adrienne really took the time to understand what we were looking for and made sure that our needs were front of mind in every detail that was suggested and completed. She was very up front with costs and budgeting time with our budget in mind. The attention to detail and the ability to see past the contractors rough structure as to how that would look in the final project were a particular strength. There was absolute confidence and resolve in how the details would be finalized and confidence that we would love it as much as we do. Unexpected challenges were solved immediately with confidence that we were not taking a chance but we were adding depth to the look of the space. Everything worked out, and all design changes were well thought out and discussed. Everything turned out fantastic and with an architect's influence. I like telling people that we could not have imagined this without having an architect like Adrienne as our guide.

We have worked with Adrienne on 2 projects and have been delighted by her professionalism. Over the past 2 years we have looked to get work done in our house 3 times. We have used Adrienne’s services twice out of 3 and can really tell the difference and the added value provided by her work over the 2 times she was involved VS not. Hiring Adrienne as your architect, you will have the confidence that you have someone planning for your space to live in, taking in consideration your lifestyle and taste. Adrienne has an eye for all the details that you (or your contractor, no matter how great) would never think of. She anticipates what will make you happy and makes practical and creative recommendations about it (from small things like the placement of a hook, of a plug , direction of your shower, or wider more structural aspects like the drawing of your cabinets, design of a shower, etc...) all these details make your everyday life much easier and they are worth every penny. Adrienne also set us right from the beginning with realistic expectations for our budget. While it costs more to use an architect's services, you’ll know everyday why it was better than not doing it and won’t regret it
