We have used Siemasko & Verbridge for two projects in the renovation of our Cape Cod home. The first project turned a one car garage into a vaulted ceiling family room as well as adding a bathroom. The second project created a more open concept between the kitchen and living room with a kitchen redesign and vaulted ceiling. Leslie and Katelyn were wonderful to deal with. They listened to our ideas, gave excellent input and their attention to detail was above and beyond. The firm also assisted with our landscape design which helped to put the finishing touches on the whole property. We would highly recommend using their services and would happily use them again.

We have installed a home elevator on a few of Siemasko & Verbridge projects. Their work is always top notch. They have an impeccable reputation for design and detail along with an “A list” of team players that make it all happen. We are always honored to work on one of their projects.

Siemasko + Verbridge was very helpful in developing a plan for a marginal land parcel that had specific zoning requirements. They moved forward with enthusiasm, listened carefully to what was required and produced a very viable plan of action. Their research and preliminary practices made for a smooth completion of the job. Their project list is impressive and they are sensitive to cost concerns, especially when working with non-profits. Siemasko + Verbridge offer everything a client needs for a good experience in planning a new build or renovation.

S+V has helped make our house a home-- from both architectural building design and interior design services, at various stages of improvement. They have helped us with little projects (such has a basement re-design) to a new master bedroom addition. Everyone on staff is smart, respectful, and good natured; they're simply the best and it shows in their work.

We had a unique situation with Siemasko+Verbridge as I bought a house that was in need of some renovation work in Concord MA but I live in Hong Kong. We approached Siemasko+Verbridge based on a recommendation of a friend who used to work for them. Our experience with them was mixed. They had good design and ideas. But the execution process was challenging and lengthy. We got through it in the end, but we went 6 months + 25% over budget.
Some things that stood out:
1/ While during the initial planning process the partner of the firm was closely involved, as soon as we signed on we were handed over to his younger associates without explanation. When asked why later, he said that given the scope of the project this would cost less "even though he was always in the background." We were confused for awhile as to who was exactly in charge of our project with no real clear guideline of communication until we finally explicitedly asked for it.
2/ The designing phase took longer than expected, partly because we were trying to coordinate across the globe, but also partly because every decision change require a whole new set of drawings, even when the change was as minor as the distance of a wall from one length to another. As we originally was on a timeline to start the project in September and have it finish by Christmas, the days of waiting in between drawings felt fairly drawn out.
3/ The contractor selection process was confusing as we were told that we could only choose between three firms and was not allowed to shop for more. We eventually picked one that we felt comfortable with but communication between S+V and the contractor took a lot of intermediation from ourselves. There were instances where the contractor was working off of old drawings provided by S+V, and was caught only too late once the materials went in. We felt that S+V and the contractor kept pointing fingers at each other, and so it was fairly frustrating as the project that was suppose to end in Christmas 2012 eventually wrapped in June 2013.
In S+V defensive, whenever we had feedback for them, they would always respond. In addition, I fully recognize the added layer of difficulty to coordinate across the global between Boston and Hong Kong. Having said that, we went into the process hoping to rely on their experience to coordinate the entire process from design, to actual execution, especially at the rate that they charged. What we ended up with was spending a lot of time ourselves figuring things out, especially on the execution side, as coordination with the contractor was handled poorly.
The best part of S+V was their young designer named Katy Finkenzeller, who amongst everyone we worked with at S+V we felt that she really had our interest at heart, and not only followed up on everything but also was constantly making proactive suggestions. She was reachable, accessible, and very easy to work with.
In the end we were happy with the outcome of how our house turned out, despite it taking a lot longer than we had anticipated, not to mention we spent enough money on it effectively being able to buy another small house. For S+V, Katy in the end was the part of the entire experience that we really care to remember about.

The project was a renovation which included the architectural redesign and
Interior design of 3 distinct home spaces. The challenge lay in working with a 100+ year old structure which the owners have been transforming over the past 10 years. Siemesko and Verbridge was hired to complete the project, working closely with the owners who participated actively in architectural, engineering and interior design discussions.
Jean Verbridge did a great job extending her services from design specs to site visits, dialoging with owners and contractors regularly , efficiently interpreting and researching interior design solutions .

Siemasko and Verbridge architectural and interior design services are outstanding. Jean Verbridge's color sense is exquisite; an example -highlighting the original violet tint in old Back Bay Boston windows with a violet silk covered desk chair. The firm is skilled in understanding clients' tastes and desires which they clearly communicate to the builder. They are collaborative and enjoy taking a team approach to projects.

Siemasko and Verbridge is a architectural and interiors firm. We have worked with them for years in supplying interiors for their clients. They are detailed oriented and very thorough when it comes to the needs of their clients. They stick within their clients budget and know where to find what interiors they need from what showroom. They are pleasant and we have always enjoyed working with them.

Over the years we have identified key components to a successful project. Here are a few things you, the homeowner, can do to contribute to this success:
1. Communication is key. Make it honest, consistent and frequent. When several persons or parties are involved, speak with one unified voice. You will get better value from us if you resolve most differences on your own.
2. Hone your listening skills. We work really hard to listen to your dreams and desires. When we provide input or opinions based on our knowledge and experience, please do listen, even though it may not be what you want to hear. Disagree with our opinions, but please listen to facts we share with you.
3. Be realistic in budget and schedule. Thoughtful design, planning and execution does take time. Better to do it once, right. Share your budget with us early on, so we can plan accordingly, or let us work with you to create one. Bringing in a contractor early on is one method to establish and monitor a budget. Every project includes quality, budget and schedule; all three need to align early on for best results.
4. Expect problems to arise. Construction is a messy process, it involves lots of moving parts and pieces. It is dependent on human beings, and is thus prone to human error. Anticipate that there will be a few rough patches, and appreciate it when there aren’t. Remember that while the designer has a responsibility to provide information in a timely manner, the construction portion of the schedule is determined by the contractor.
5. Enjoy the process. You are spending time, money and effort to create something. The rewards will be worth it in the long run.
