We are a full service Architecture and Design studio owned by husband and wife team, Darcy & Gordon Colson, specializing in bringing vision to life. Our goal is to help facilitate the process of bringing our client’s dreams into reality. We listen first and then add our skills and expertise into the design, bringing innovative ideas, creativity and many years of experience to each project. Gordon Colson is a Graduate Architect registered in the state of Texas. He began his career in Ohio, in 1970, working for an Architectural firm where he became involved in the design of educational facilities. Gordon’s experience in over sixty church and educational projects over the last 40 years uniquely qualifies him as an architect who is knowledgeable in the design and construction of these types of facilities. Gordon is the owner of Riverstone Designs in New Braunfels,Texas. In addition, he has held managerial positions in various architectural firms, including Partner in Charge of Technical Services in a 35-person office in Florida. Gordon has coordinated the work of various other disciplines in an array of projects from banks to marinas, and large custom homes. Many of these projects required careful master planning and phasing of construction to allow for future growth and ease of construction. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Gordon has also used his gifts to benefit the community, including an appointment by the Mayor of Fort Myers to serve on the Historic Preservation Commission. Gordon is currently a registered Architect in the State of Texas and has been member and a two-time past president of the Southwest Chapter of the Construction Specification Institute (CSI) as well as a member of the American Institute of Architects. As a CSI member, Gordon was actively involved in educating the local construction industry and building owners regarding sustainable design and use of “green” products. Since moving to Texas, Gordon has continued to be involved in area church design and community master planning as well as designing numerous custom homes and office buildings and even an incredible stone barn.
