Founded in New York in 1974 as a design studio, Pagliaro Bartels Sajda Architects has since earned a reputation for exceptional waterfront architecture throughout North America. Our philosophy hinges on the key concepts of place, space, light, scale, and material to create projects that combine functionality with aesthetic design. We believe in the marriage between a structure and a site. We design buildings that reflect a union between man, earth, and the environment, working with natural light to enhance spatial flow and convey a sense of warmth and grandness. I have had the honor and privilege to work with the folks at PBS architects for over 18 years and find them exceptional in not only their ability to understand building elements and how they go together but to truly push design boundaries in an intelligent, thoughtful manner. It is very much in the sense in which you would recognize a riff on a guitar by Stevie Ray Vaughn, the raw vocals of a Bruce Springsteen song or the frenetic lines of a Jackson Pollock painting, the same can be said of the distinctive signature in the architecture of the projects they create. Their work is recognized in the industry and it gives me a great sense of pride in associating the fenestration components I represent with their finished product.

As co-chair of our building committee for The Tokeneke Club in Darien, CT, we selected Pagliaro/Bartels/Sajda from a group of five architect teams that responded to our RFP to design and build a new clubhouse and tennis plaza as well as renovate our Bath House. Their vision and design was heads and tails above the others. They also brought in another design group, James Rogers who have designed buildings for some of America's leading clubs. Together, they have made a dynamic duo. Our membership voted 263-4 to support the plan (and a large assessment to pay for it. We are extremely pleased with Pagliaro Bartels Sajda and can't recommend them enough.

We have worked with this company before and love them. They can always resolve any situations that might arise. They are very knowledgable and considerate of our wishes. They really care about making us satisfied and happy with the results. Just great guys to work with! I wouldn't build a house without them! We feel very fortunate to have had them for our building project.

I am a self employed Plumbing & Heating contractor who has had the priviledge to work with Pagliaro Bartels Sajda Architects for over 10 years and one project tops the next. The attention to details in their drawings are second to none. They are usually winning Home Builders Awards for multiple projects year in and out.

This is our second positive experience with these architects in the last 20 years. This project will enclose an exterior deck to expand and enlarge our kitchen to provide an eat-in area. At the same time we are removing several interior walls to open up the living space. The staircase will be removed and replaced with a modern glass and metal one. A small dormer will be added to our guest bathroom to increase headroom and allow for a shower over the tub. The overall effect is one of modernizing the home and maximizing the water views. This company pay close attention to every detail and nuance.

We did a full house renovation and increased square footage. They did a great job and managed expectations well. Excellent communication throughout the whole process and were extremely effective at helping us select and work with the contractor. Their hands-on involvement allowed us to keep to our timetable and control expenses. The final results exceeded our expectations and our family continues to enjoy the results of their work. I would highly recommend them.
