I cannot heap enough praise upon Jim. My wife and I worked with Jim on a remodel on our home in Santa Cruz. It was the second major renovation on the property, and we were a bit tentative about the process again and needed a fair bit of hand holding. At the same time, we did have a very strong sense of the overall design that we wanted for the house. Jim listened to everything we said and did a tremendous job in bringing what we wanted to the home. He immediately clicked with our sense of style and suggestions and changes to continue the design ideas that we had in design process. Jim did a tremendous job in working with the county during the permitting process, which included an unforeseen redesign on the second story. Once construction began; Jim's oversight made sure that any real world details that came up during that process fit into the overall design of the house. While he may credit me for some of the ideas, his sure hand and real understanding of what we were trying to achieve made this all possible. Jim truly the best helped us to build an amazing home for our family, and after actually being in the home for about a year there is nothing that we would have done differently, which I think is the best measure of how great a job Jim did on our home.

Jim was a real pleasure to work with. He's smart; he knows what he's doing; and he knows how to get things done with the County. Not only did Jim add a number of his own very important design ideas to our 4000 square foot commercial building; but he also incorporated our ideas and made them work. Jim worked fast; was very creative; and knew how to work within the Code and still keep our project within budget. We recently rehired Jim to help us design a lake house we plan to build this summer.

My husband and I hired Jim to draw plans for our "dream" house. Although, we haven't quite finished the process, we are close. Jim has been wonderful from the beginning (viewing the lot) to submitting plans to the county. He has succeeded in taking my vision for a modern farmhouse to paper. In addition, he is ever mindful of budget concerns. My house will be beautiful when completed. I hope it will appear on Houzz someday!

Jim did an excellent job on our remodel for a fair price. He was energetic and managed the decision making process very well. Although we considered different options, the final design was just what we needed and improved the house beyond my expectations. Jim met with us on a few occasions and came back with 3D simulations of our options. That really helped us focus on a particular design. He struck a good balance between making recommendations and letting us lead with our ideas. Our contractor was able to work very well with Jim's drawings and we had no problems with permitting the project. We have recommended Jim to our friends.

Jim Stroupe has the ability to redesign a living space into a more functional layout. When we remodeled our Los Gatos home he helped us change an awkward master bedroom space and transform it into a larger well designed living space. He provided design solutions that added both space and style to our home. We works efficiently and his fees are reasonable for this area. Jim used a picture we found as inspiration to design a wonderful arbor in our backyard. He also helped redesign our guest house adding a spa bathroom that is a beautiful space that friends and relatives enjoy during visits to our home. We would use him again for another project.
