We reached out to JEANNETTE because we were referred personally to them from previous clients! They had wonderful things to say and so do we: Jeff and his whole team are very professional and completely capable of taking on our project. We had a 1923 Spanish bungalow 2/1 on a very tight lot. We wanted to keep the Spanish style but completely remodel and add on a bed and a bath.. Charlene along with us worked through all the tight tolerances and set backs. We got exactly what we sought after: a completely remodeled 3/2 … throughout the project they reached out to offer advice and checked in on our progress. We had to make city changes in the 11th hour and they were on in to keep the project flowing. We very pleased and would highly recommend JEANNETTE and his team @ Jeannette Architects !

It was a fantastic ride working with Jeff @ Jeannette Architects for the past couple of years from conception to realization. His professionalism, combined with his heart and passion for designing a forever home for us, will never be forgotten. His expertise weaved our budget and desires into a lovely pattern of thoughtful functionality. The organizational details and thoroughness of his record keeping and note taking took us to a whole other level of satisfied completion of the project. Jeff was asked to step in when we wanted a second opinion during the construction phase, and he never shied away from letting his thoughts shine through. His after-construction visit to the site for a final walkthrough was so valuable that we would have missed out on details that no one otherwise would have thought of or cared for. It is rare to find talent, and heart together in the potpourri of passionate service these days. Jeannette Architects gets two thumbs up from us. Friends recommended Jeff Jeannette to us, and we’re very happy we decided to have him design our accessory dwelling unit. From the first visit, he listened to our ideas and understood what we wanted. He never tried to shoehorn us into a preconceived plan. He came back with preliminary sketches and options that clearly helped us see what would work best for us. In addition to his skills as an architect, his knowledge of the city’s ADU process was invaluable in ensuring that the project would be approved quickly. Jeff’s team also was great in walking us through what we would need to do to in terms of fees & permits to get the project off the ground. Everything proceeded in a timely, professional way. When it came to the plans themselves, the level of detail was extremely helpful to us—and the contractor and subs—in seeing that construction was carried out as we wanted it to be. Jeff also recommended a great interior design company to us and they were a tremendous asset in turning our vision into a reality. Jeff and his team were there to answer our questions any time and checked in regularly to see how the project was progressing. We’re more than delighted with how the ADU turned out. In short, Jeannette Architects was great to work with and we’d happily recommend the team for any project.

Jeff has a great eye for detail and is very communicative/responsive. He worked exceptionally well with our contractor. Just an overall talented and extremely nice person. We had to navigate many challenges during Covid on our project and Jeff really stepped up and was helpful in numerous ways. Under the best of circumstances a remodel is stressful and we truly appreciated Jeff's expertise and kindness. We are thrilled with our home.

We had met with a few design-to-build contractors and architects prior to meeting with Jeff and the Jeannette Architects team, however, at the first meeting we knew we could trust JA to design our forever home. Jeff was so knowledgeable and we were blown away by his expertise. We had a general idea of what we wanted and right away Jeff understood us and laid out plans better than we ever imagined. The JA team was always helpful and great communicators. They listened to our concerns and incorporated all our needs into the concept of our home. Because of COVID we put our project on hold for a bit, however, when we were ready to pick back up, JA did not missed a beat. Thankful to Jeff and Roy for coming up with a beautiful design of our Spanish 1920s home exterior. It was renovated with a mansard roof and we hoped they could reinvision what it might have looked like originally. Very happy with the outcome! We especially love the new enlarged patio that makes up for the lack of a backyard. Jeff and Roy were always available to answer questions. We are absolutely thrilled with our remodel! Our experience with Jeff Jeannette has been 100% positive. When we first sat down with Jeff in our living room, we felt understood and accepted. Our home is modest and our style is quiet, and he totally "got" what we wanted. We love the final result! We've adjusted immediately to the new flow because the addition feels like it has always been here. It looks beautiful, but it also feels like the original 1940 house, which is what we wanted. We get so many compliments from our neighbors, who love how the house looks from the street. Because of our soil, we had structural problems that were more than challenging, and the Covid lockdown happened just as we were starting work. Jeff and his staff were incredibly kind, supportive, and attentive during this terrible time. He was reassuring, patient, and positive, and he walked us through every challenge. His knowledge and experience with the City were invaluable as we navigated several challenges on that front. He offered solid referral choices for every professional we needed (survey, structural, contracting), and he worked effectively with the professionals we chose. I honestly believe I had the world's best team behind me! Because of Covid and our structural challenges, construction took longer than we anticipated, but Jeff stuck with us throughout, long after the architectural plans were finalized. We absolutely recommend Jeff Jeannette!

When I decided to build an ADU; I didn’t know what I wanted. I did my research by looking at photos of the local talent. After viewing literally hundreds of Architects in the Houzz app, Jeff Jeanette was clearly the best. He has a multitude of visually unique designs. Jeff Jeanette and his staff are meticulous and detailed. The helped us design the perfect home. It felt like concierge service in the finest hotel. They strive to make everything right. The ADU is elegant and charming. There are delightful details, such as all the window sills being wide enough for plants or cats. The detailed ceiling is magnificent to behold. When I had personal set backs, they allowed me time without pressing me to continue. When we encountered difficulties with the city inspectors, Jeff Jeanette was right there, assisting us over each and every challenge. I looked for and found the best. Working with Jeff and his team on my whole home remodel was a fantastic experience. Jeff came up with an layout for the existing space of my home that fit all our needs and really maximized the useable space. It was a long process to get final approvals requiring many iterations (my HOA in the area is a total pain in the ass) but Jeff and his team were on the ball throughout and helped iterate incrementally throughout. I highly recommend them and will definitely be reaching back out if I ever have to do another remodel.

I am a resident of Long Beach and have been looking for an architectural firm to assist in redesigning our home and yard, as well as oversee the full renovation process. I met with several firms; Jeannette Architects (Jeff Jeannette) was my final consult. What he brought to the table was heads and shoulders over any of the other architectural firms. I was blown away! He is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable and has a working relationship with contractors that I was hoping to hire but were never even available to return my calls! Along with his extended experience, he's a great communicator, strong on diplomatic skills, but not afraid to say what needs to be said to get things done. Highly Recommended!

I'm really sad that we couldn't end up going through with the construction of Jeannette's design (construction prices are now at obscenely offensive levels), because it was a great design that I would have loved to see come to fruition, not to mention have the pleasure of living in! Their process was very attentive to our desires, culminating in a final design that looked on paper to be perfectly what we wanted. The whole staff was great to work with. Very communicative.

Jeff Jeannette Architects was very careful to incorporate my ideas in the remodel of my home. Rather than impose what they thought I wanted, they listened carefully to my desires. The final product is exactly what I envisioned. The design reflects—in every way—a beachy, cottage-type structure, both inside and out. The square footage is at about 1730 square feet, but the great room/kitchen area is quite large and accommodates a surprising number of people. We have entertained about 15 people on a number of occasions and have been quite comfortable doing so. His design of a patio cover in the back yard has provided hours and hours of pleasure in all kinds of weather. Jeff and his staff carefully walked us through the process from beginning to the very end. His whole staff was very patient and, what’s more, they educated us about the rational in each step. Their responsiveness was very timely; they never delayed responding to any call/request. Jeff offered us three contractors’ names he felt could do the remodel. Our choice proved to be absolutely right on. Once the remodel began, between Jeff and the contractor, we never looked back. What is so heartening is that there were NO SURPRISES—with costs or results. Every transaction with Jeff and the contractor re: the remodel, costs, quality control, permits, etc. was smooth, timely and professional. Without reservation I would recommend Jeannette Architects to any one who wants a positive experience and a quality product—and hire him again! We have had many, many compliments from family, friends and neighbors.

We hired Jeff to conduct a Feasibility study on our house and then, if possible based on the study, to add an addition to our home. We were on a very small lot in a historic district with a lot of restrictions. Jeff was very positive, organized, and communicative and gave us all the info to help us decide how to move forward. While we ultimately did not move forward with the addition (and ended up selling our home!) I would definitely use Jeff again for a future project. In our new neighborhood I have seen more than 1 house that is already working with Jeff and I will be giving him a call when we are ready to upgrade our own new home.

My wife and I are first-time homeowners who purchased our home about a year ago. We met with Jeff to discuss potentially adding a new master suite. During the initial consultation, Jeff was candid and straight-forward about what the project would involve and the costs. As a result of the consultation, we realized that we would not be able to move forward with the project based on what it would entail and the costs. We really appreciated Jeff's insights and are grateful for his openness. He saved us from starting a project that was likely to become a long, frustrating and expensive headache. From the outset, Jeff and his entire staff were also courteous and professional. Even though we decided not to move forward with our project at this time, we came away learning a lot more than we did before. Jeff Jeannette and his team did a great job designing our Craftsman style home ! It is a open concept and has great flow and function ! They always listened to us through the design process and gave us some great ideas ! They helped to navigate us they the permit process in spite of the building department shutting down because of Covid . They were always a phone call away to answer our questions and concerns ! For our first major renovation project (kitchen remodeling with additions) we are very happy to have selected Jeff and his team as our architect. The relationship started 3 years ago with just a consultation and brainstorming some ideas, finally started the actual process of drawing up the plan a year or so later, and with all the ups and downs (including the team handholding us through a rough personal time where we were ready to just give up on the whole project completely), Jeff and his team was patient, understanding, and supportive all the way through. Jeff was great with his outside of box ideas, while remaining true to who we were and what was important to us personally. He sees the big picture but also detailed and attentive enough to make sure we've covered everything. Danielle, our project manager, was great in making sure our regular communications was on top of everything with enough time to adjust and adapt if needed. In overall, we are grateful to have had their service and enjoying our "new" house greatly. And we are very much looking forward to working with them again for our next stage of finishing up the addition and outside real soon!

Jeff helped us transition our 1948 ranch into more of a midcentury modern ranch with a second level addition. He did this in a very thoughtful way, that we appreciated from the start. What started on our end as a kitchen renovation, snowballed into also "building out our attic", into a full blown renovation and second level on half of our home. Jeff was able to take some of our initial ideas and build on them in a way that we never would have thought of on our own. It was also very important to us that the addition look intentional, as if it could have always been there. Not just a big box plopped on top of the house. The result was a smart design that we were truly excited about and was also much more practical for our family and lifestyle. He and our main point person, Danielle, were always prepared with suggestions and solutions to problems that came up during the project, as they always do. We are still slowly settling into our new space but we get regular compliments from neighbors outside, many who watched the progress, and we feel so lucky to live in our beautiful "new" house, especially now that we are spending so much time at home during this pandemic. We look forward to working with Jeff and his awesome team on our next project.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful folks at Jeannette Architects! From the moment Jeff stepped foot on the property until we reached completion, we were met with professionalism, and a kind and caring approach. They handled the overall design, as well as acted as our project manager for what turned out to be a whole home remodel. The house is the parsonage, or resident of the pastor, for our church. It had sustained a substantial amount of damage, including structural failures, in 2019. We now have a beautiful place to call home for our pastor now and for generations to come! This was actually the second time we hired Jeanette Architects. They did a bedroom / bath remodel about 13 years ago. This time it was the kitchen, living room, and garage. They are good about asking lots of questions and really understanding your needs before they start the design process. They are good about working with you within your needs / budget to get the most bang for the buck. The set a real timeline and met it (I hate nothing more than when someone promises what you want to hear and then runs over). We had several different subcontractors comment positively on both the design and engineering. They are incredibly thorough which comes in really handy when the inspector is looking at plans and wants to see you know what your doing. Because we had used them before we did not get another quote but we felt their rates were reasonable and we knew their quality was good. We would absolutely recommend them to others.

We hired Jeanette Architects to design a complete remodel for our home in Seal Beach. Jeff and his team are great to work with. We initially met with Jeff on site and then began with a design consultation. Unlike many architects he provided a detailed breakdown of the timeline and the architectural costs of the project. We had the pleasure working with Jeannette Architects on a beautiful home remodel in Long Beach, CA. Throughout the process, Jeff and his Team worked with us closely on an aquarium design for the home which entailed a lot of communication and collaboration. We first met with Jeff Jeannette, & Danielle Zunzunegui, on June 28, 2018, to discuss what we felt was our dream home. We decided to remodel our home after living in it for over two years. We had done a major remold to our previous home without the aid of an architect. However being new to Long Beach area we were overwhelmed and the Jeannette Architect was highly recommended by several friends and acquaintances. We were very impressed after our first meeting with Jeff and Danielle on how they listened to our ideas of what we wanted our home to look like and on our needs for now and into the future. Jeff “got” our vision and he was able to quickly put a preliminary plan on paper. Between the both of them they managed to design a clear plan that met our and desires. They explained clearly that the architectural process which included several meeting and design changes. They also included service to assist in recommending contractors, appliance distributor, construction supervision, and that they would follow through from the beginning to the end of our project. Their knowledge of construction and ever changing City and FEMA requirements was exceptional. Jeff and Danielle worked closely with our contractor and held him to their high standards. They worked out a time line and budget for our project and with their assistance we managed to stay within the time frame and budget. We met Jeff and Danielle for about one year before we even started our project. We developed a family friendly, respectful, and professional relationship with the Jeanette Architectural team. Jeff and Danielle were our closes contacts but there whole team was just as supportive and friendly. We appreciate all that they have achieved for us and recommend them highly.

Highly recommended! Jeannette Architects helped turn our 60’s Torrance house into a beautiful craftsman, with design elements and details that continue to garner compliments well after we moved back in. Our “remodel” was fairly significant as it involved making our house 90% new, going down to the bare studs/foundation, and an increase to square footage. Every step of the design process and drawing creation was done with the utmost attention to detail and great communication. The final design plans had a high level of detail that bidding contractors and subs actually complimented, as it helped eliminate any uncertainties with their quotes, ultimately saving time/money by avoiding changes to the project scope. Yes, that’s correct, the entire job was executed exactly on budget! Beyond the plans, they also helped with selecting a good contractor and interior designers, using their connections in the industry to find the best match for our job. We required a home with universal design and craved a home that didn’t look “adaptive”. Prior to working with Jeff and Allie, we had always adapted to our home. Now, we live in a home adapted to us. Jeff and Allie created a seamless design for our home that meets all of our needs while still offering exceptional, modern, sophisticated design. Our home is beautiful, accessible, adaptive, and comfortable without looking “handicapped” or “adaptive”. Big dreams that come in the form of big remodels take time and it’s important that you like the people you are working with. Jeff and Allie are exceptional humans. Remodeling a home is personal. Jeff and Allie intuitively get that. One of the more personal needs for us was planning for future needs my husband may someday have. In planning for ceiling supports in the event that we might someday need a lift, Jeff said : “Yes, we can insure that you have what you need but we can hide everything in the ceiling until you do. You do not need a daily reminder of the future that hasn’t come yet." That is who Jeff is and his values are shared on his entire team. That is how well you will be taken care of and how supported you will feel in the most sensitive, vulnerable, whimsical, or indulgent of requests. Jeff and his team excel at larger scale projects such as ours and are valuable from the first day you think you might need an architect until your contractor hands you your keys upon project completion. After all, before you knock down those walls, you never really know what you’ll find and it is handy to have an architect available to you throughout the project. You’ll likely need them. If you bring a realistic timeline and a realistic budget, Jeff and his team will have your backs with everything that comes next. Your home will be anything but cookie cutter and while many bemoan construction, you will be grateful that your first big decision in choosing the right architect led to everything you dream of coming next.

Jeff at Jennette Architects is a true professional. Prompt, personal attention to every detail - like our house was his own. Jeff's insight and eye for what works transformed our cramped closet-like, compartmentalized house from the 60's into a light, open and welcoming home; all within the existing walls and square footage. Nice! Now, we actually enjoy staying at home and preparing meals in the well designed and smart flowing kitchen while conveniently never missing a touchdown on the flat screen TV over the gas-log fireplace. Love it! But that's not all. Jeff learned of our desire for a good sized home gym and went to work. The finished gym, with huge 6 foot and 12 foot mirrors on opposite walls, rounded out another major aspect where we really feel don't feel like the need to go to town - as much. This is a long overdue review for Jeannette Architects, who 10 years ago completely redesigned our craftsman bungalow in Long Beach (Belmont Heights). During the 7-month project, we had one baby in diapers and another one on the way...probably not the best time to do a whole-house remodel. We charged ahead anyway. And even though there were stressful moments, those moments were always moderated by the calm stewardship of Jeff, his wife and business partner Roberta, and the rest of the Jeannette team. They knew what they were doing, and we clearly understood we were in good hands. The positive impression developed quickly, in our first meeting with Jeff, when he carefully listened to our thoughts and then sketched several design options he thought would work for us. These on-the-spot sketches were super detailed and creative, and one of them ultimately served as the basis for our remodel. To us, what makes Jeff so good at what he does is that he is an excellent communicator as well as a great architect. As a result, he is able to talk to you, pull from your words an optimal project vision, and then carefully put that vision into an official plan. Jeff and the rest of Jeannette Architects gave us a house that we love, and for that we are eternally grateful. We are not alone in these feelings; most of our neighbors who have renovated their homes have used Jeannette Architects, and all of them, like us, sing loudly their praise. Jeannette Architects has done the plans for two separate projects for us... after listening to our thoughts and needs, they came up with two wonderful, functional plans with details we never would have thought of... we were involved with them during the planning process, they remained involved with the builder, plus they have excellent rapport with the city. Jeff and his team did an excellent job of capturing our vision and making our house exactly the way we wanted it. We added less than 1000 sq ft but it feels so much bigger and spacious than before. Every detail was captured and our builder was able to make the drawing come to life with not many questions because the drawings had it all. The planners made requests for changes which made no logical sense and, if needed, would have put an end to our project. Jeannette Architects helped us transform our cookie-cutter post-war tract house into a unique home. We had an 1100 sqft house and we wanted to add a ~700 sqft “jam room”. We wanted it to be beautiful and fun. We needed it to be technical and functional. Jeff is a good listener—he entertained all our ideas but steered us clear of our bad ones. He had creative solutions for some challenging problems. Of particular concern was the transition from the original footprint of the house to the addition for the jam room. The solution is a beautiful atrium that balances the scale of the house to that of the addition and lets in wonderful natural light. Allie made it all possible—she worked tirelessly with elusive and inconsistent guidance from LA County to get our plans approved. She chased down every detail; every time we had “seen something” but didn’t have any details she would find the exact material or product for the job. Jeff offered original ideas. At one point Jeff said “I have a crazy idea…” and started sketching it out. It was an island in an unexpected location. It changed everything. It let us open up the space while adding a ton of functionality. It anchors everything. The jam room is pretty cool—it has a piano, guitars, drums—of course it is cool. But the island, I love the island. Design matters. That is why we hired Jeannette Architects.

Jeff and his team did an amazing job on the plan for our home addition. We get so many compliments from people walking by. There are three build ups on our street right now and they are nice but thankfully ours is still the best looking house on the block. The longer we are in our new home, the more I realize the value of all the small details that were in our plan, from outlets to window size to post placement. The solid design is obvious at first glance but then it's even more clear upon closer inspection how great the architecture work was for us. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jeannette Architects on two separate occasions. A few years back, we redesigned and remodeled the kitchen of our 1922 California bungalow. Our greatest desire was to keep the traditional style and capture more space and openness for the flow of smaller rooms common in these older homes. Our second interaction was for a dispute with the city on a code issue for living space on a property line. I’ve never had a professional developer go to bat for me like Jeannette. The issue was resolved within 3 months and believe me, in our area, that is record breaking speed.

We worked with Jeannette Architects last year on a complete tear down and re-build of a back unit/cottage. This was a challenging project with strict building codes in Long Beach, CA and it had to be seamlessly integrated with the 100 year old colonial main house. From beginning to end, the Jeannette’s were FANTASTIC and true partners in this project. They listened patiently to what we wanted to achieve with this space and somehow extracted the perfect physical structure. Their attention to detail was incredible and we ended up with a set of plans that left no question or ambiguity about what we’d end up with when we went out to bid. They bring a very personal and creative approach to every job..NO CUT AND PASTE HERE!! Our job was designed specifically for us and we felt a part of the entire process. Jeff was a trusted partner and great sounding board throughout...making sure we were happy with progress and frequently checking in to make sure quality met his high expectation. On one visit, he noticed the GC framing out the roof with some large beams and asked that the concrete sub-floor be protected in case a beam dropped!! His easy going nature, and calm demeanor gave us a great sense of confidence through what might have been an extremely stressful experience. I can not recommend Jeannette Architects enough..for any job..large or small. They were up-front, honest, and had great communication until we had the keys in our hands. We will definitely be using them again for our next project!

Our project involved demolition of an existing 1946 two story cracker box and the building of a contemporary custom home. Right from our first conversation, Jeff was honest and forthright about his timeline and constraints and the costs involved with this project. Long overdue review. We selected Jeannette architects to design a complete exterior remodel of our home. We wanted to modernize the homes mid-century design while preserving some of its original features. We selected Jeff Jeannette because of his experience with similar style homes. Jeff and Laura met with us several times to discuss our project goals before starting our design. We liked that they listened to our ideas and suggested improvements, rather than insisting on their own design. We love our new house, and Jeannette Architects was such an integral part of why we feel that way. Our desires were all listened to, and we found a way to incorporate most everything on our bucket list. Not a week goes by that someone doesn't compliment us on the exterior of our home, which we updated from a staid colonial with sloped ceilings into a more contemporary take on a colonial with wide airy spaces. Jeff and Laura both worked to get us the house we wanted. I knew from our first meeting that we needed to hire Jeff - when I said I wanted to expand the master bedroom towards the back of the house and Jeff suggested that we had ample space expanding in a different direction. I really appreciated his approach to the overall design. We ended up taking our house down to subfloors and studs, and we moved walls, added bathrooms, moved the laundry room upstairs, made the kitchen a friendly, warm environment, and opened up the family room to both the backyard and the living room. The second floor was more of the same. Jeff and Laura also worked well with our contractor and some of the other professionals we had hired, allowing for a more seamless approach to the kitchen and bath design, the landscape design, incorporating a new garage and pool house into the property, etc. I would love to do another project with Jeannette Architects. :)

We hired Jeff to help us turn our 1950s tract house into a California beach bungalow with Craftsman overtones. He was great at listening to what we wanted, letting us know what was realistic and offering alternatives. The layout of the house if fantastic, with a great traffic flow for parties and large family gatherings. When our roof needed to be replaced unexpectedly Jeff was very open to some new venting technology we found on the internet. His team researched it thoroughly and updated the plan to incorporate the low profile venting in a way that met the code requirements. Jeff also helped us in conversations with the contractor when things weren't going well. We love our new home, and strangers driving by will often stop to see the house as it is very striking. We would highly recommend Jeannette Architects!

Jeff and his team are professional yet approachable, and their final plans were of excellent quality. We completely reworked the kitchen and living areas of our home without adding any square footage. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable, but perhaps more importantly he is kind and easy to talk with. We appreciated that he has a family himself and used that first-hand knowledge to create a functional, family-friendly layout. !950s tract home was re-modeled as a Craftsman style, with an added living space for my parents in the back. The entire home was re-modeled which included the kitchen, master bedroom, family room with an indoor/outdoor fireplace, laundry room (which serves as a common room with my parents), and their two room living quarters (for my parents). My parent's living quarters includes a kitchen with dinning area, living-room, bedroom, and full bath.

We have worked with Jeff Jeanette twice. The 1st time was a complete redo of our kitchen, master bath, updated electrical & plumbing including tankless water heater, out door trellis, and painting inside & out. The 2nd time was a complete redo of the 2nd bathroom. We enjoyed working with Jeff and also enjoy seeing his work and design around the neighborhood.

I highly recommend Jeannette Architects. My wife and I decided to remodel our house, which was built in the late 1950s in Rossmoor, CA, after living in it for almost two decades. We desperately needed a master bathroom (as we have teenagers who love to invites friends over for gaming marathons) and also wanted to modernize the look of the exterior and interior of the house (while staying true to Rossmoor's ambiance.) Jeff helped us make an older remodeled Naples bungalow meet the needs of a grandparent house...not heavily used, but comfortable and functional for family gatherings. He creatively handled some serious re-configuring of the upstairs master suite to include requisite separate baths and a laundry room. I hired Jeff to create a plan for a house in Naples. My references and stated desires were vague and not very clear. In retrospect, i am sure it was quite a challenge to design. Jeff did an amazing job of helping to articulate exactly what I had so vaguely described. As with most construction, there were many particulars that were required for our unique family situation that Jeff was able to execute. I was thrilled with the finished design product and tellingly, am just as please more than ten years later. The house has been the locale of a great many social events and wonderful family memories. To say that a house "works" as well as the day it was built is quite a compliment to Jeff and his team. Moreover, as various issues have come come up which included or required changes (a 30 foot tree fell down in the front yard), Jeff has been quick and efficient in his response. Jeff Jeannette designed the perfect solution for our architectural dilemma. We purchased a condo unit that was combined from two apartment units. While there was an interior stairwell when we bought the property, it was constructed out of concrete and the roof was not weathered sealed. When it rained, the stairwell essentially became an outdoor space, with a pool of water gathering below the steps. That's when Jeff came to the rescue. We wanted to retain the feel of an outdoor environment with plenty of natural light, but we needed to have thermal and temperature insulation from the weather. Jeff designed a skylight that accomplished what we wanted, and even the staircase has transparent risers so natural light permeate both upstairs and downstairs. With Jeff's design, he transformed the worst part of the property to a stunning centerpiece of our home. He's flexible and friendly to work with, and offered very reasonable rates. I would recommend his service to anyone in a heart beat.

We hired Jeanette Architects in Long Beach to design a major renovation of our Seal Beach home. We explained the design and motif we wanted, and Jeff and his team delivered it spot-on! We've had dozens of compliments on our remodeled home. He also helped us find a reputable contractor. The only glitch we had in the design process was the construction cost: the bids for our project came in about 40% above our budget. (It's nearly impossible for an architect to know the cost of a project during the design process.) We were able to "value-engineer" the design to reduce costs in some areas, making the remodel financially feasable. All things considered, we are very happy with the remodel and with the service we received from Jeanette Architects.

We hired Jeff approximately 10 years ago to remodel our 1905 Victorian. Not only was he amazing at designing the perfect addition for our big family he was always very calm, organized and accommodating. It was very important for us to keep the historical feeling of the house and have the addition match the original front portion. When people come over or walk by they are amazed that the entire house is not the original 1905 structure. That is how good Jeff is. We hired Jeannette Architects to develop a plan that would update our 1970's kitchen for our 1920's colonial. What we got was a refreshing design that maximized our existing space, blended seamlessly and beautifully with the adjacent living area, and basically improved the quality of our daily life. The kitchen is current in its design yet feels original to the home - its like magic. We were referred to Jeanette Architects by a mutual friend who had done work by the firm in the past. We had seen some of their projects and were impressed by the quality of their work. Our project was a fairly large remodel — a teardown of the kitchen and two bathrooms as well as a structural overall and updating of our 100 + year old house. With a rigid historical planning department to deal, in addition to the usual permits and various city departments, Jeff was going to have his hands full. At our initial consultation with Jeff we went over rough layout ideas for the rooms in question. We explained our aesthetic to Jeff and he understood right away and came up with design ideas that complemented our rough ideas and kept us from making design choices that would have been mistakes. Between his common sense (working triangle for the kitchen), and practical experience (from anticipating potential plumbing issues to the best layout for windows to maximize sunlight), we came up with an initial layout that didn’t have to change much over the course of the project. Jeff and his team helped navigate the complex world of the historical planning department as well as all the usual plan checks, engineering, etc. When it came time to discuss our plans with the design review committee, Jeff and one of his architects came with us to make sure everyone was on the same page. Not something that has to happen on every job, but crucial to us. Jeff’s excellent communication along the way kept us from making more than a couple of missteps. Where our job ran into problems was, sadly, with the contractor. We didn’t use either of the contractors that Jeff had recommended and boy do we regret it! Fortunately, Jeff went beyond the call of duty and, when the contractor started missing deadlines, Jeff helped to get him back on track. If Jeff hadn’t helped us our job might have dragged on for months. Everything worked out in the end and the project continues to exceed our dreams. Not only do these rooms look like they should be in a magazine, they work well with the rest of the house. Jeff took an old mess and turned it into our home. I think when most people imagine an architect, they see a person who comes up with a plan, refines it, makes some blueprints and moves on to the next job. Maybe that’s the case with some architects but not with Jeff. His excellent design sense was just one part — he also explained each step to us, helped us navigate the byzantine city and historical departments, kept our contractor on the straight and narrow and made changes when necessary in a timely manner. We consider ourselves lucky to have had the opportunity, will definitely use him again with future projects and recommend him with enthusiasm.

I hired Jeff and his crew for a redesign of the façade of my 1947 Newport Beach stucco bungalow. We had the bones of a potential "Mid Century Modern" look and Jeff was able to bring that out with smooth stucco, new aluminum windows, board formed concrete planters and new floating stairs down to the curb. I have used Jeannette Architects for several projects. This includes the complete major remodel/redesign of an approxiamte 2700 sq ft residence in the Belmont Park area of Long Beach that was dual designed for both office and personal use, creating some unique challenges for the architect. I have also worked with Jeff on a consulting basis for several smaller residential investment property projects, also in the city of Long Beach. The scope included planning layout changes on several homes as well as assistance with past permitting and code compliance issues. His understanding of Long Beach requirements and extensive relationships in the city proved very valuable. I hired Jeannette Architects to design the plans for a major remodel which included adding a rooftop deck on 3-story home on Naples Island. After 23 years in a 1939 two bedroom home with 1 ½ baths for ourselves and our 2 boys, we were ready for a major change. But, we had come to love our Southern California location and neighbors, so we struggled with trying to fit our dream home onto our existing 3400 sq. ft. lot. Also, by the time we committed to remodeling our home, our boys were at an age where we needed a transitional design that would accommodate them now as teenagers, then us as an empty nest couple in a few years, and then possibly grandchildren visits in the future. We had some very specific ideas, small lot size constraints, and the challenge of creating a design that would work now and in the future. Jeff Jeanette of Jeanette Architects heard our ideas and translated them into a design that we enjoy more and more every day. ' He responded to our desire for an open design, minimizing unnecessary space, yet created many different environments that are separate from each other. The major feature of the house is an outdoor courtyard which functions as an outdoor California living room with glass walls that fold away revealing a bubbling water feature, strategically lit plants, and an outdoor dining area. The outdoor space is open to the entire first floor. The folding walls allow the space to convert to different needs depending on the situation and the weather. Tall windows throughout the house reveal the sky but not the neighbors’ homes six feet away. A second-floor sleeping porch allows us to sit around the fireplace with a view of the sky, but not the neighbors. Our front porch is wide and welcoming, a specific request of ours since the neighbors gather spontaneously at random times. The outdoor dining area has views to the courtyard and is warmed by a fireplace that also warms the living room. The master bedroom, kitchen, office, and living room have views out to the courtyard. Our “Harry Potter” desk (under the stairs) is at the center of the house and is another “convertible” space, a semi-hallway surrounded by hidden file drawers and a built-in display cabinet. The boys share a bathroom, and their bedrooms open up to a game/media room with a large flat screen TV with surround sound. Smaller details, including space-defining reflected ceiling plans, a high window in the master shower allowing in natural light, clever and practical kitchen flow, a unified “beach cottage” style that is neither too pretentious nor too rustic, and clever use of every inch of our tiny lot space come together to create a thoughtful design and plenty of places for each of us to eat, work, play, or hang out together. The plans and design provided a rich canvas for our interior designer to personalize the spaces with tile, wood, fabric, and furniture. Our landscape designer carried interior themes seamlessly to the outside. The design also inspired our master carpenter to build unique paneling and moldings, and our audio-visual consultant to use technology to add visual and sound dimensions that have created a very warm, personal, and comfortable home. Jeff was easy to work with, and his clients were happy to let us view his other well-designed homes. He was patient and fair. When there were glitches, he handled them professionally. Because of Jeff’s listening skills, design skills, and his attention to detail, we have a home that we will enjoy for many years to come.

I hired Jeff to help me turn a very ugly house with an atrocious addition into a less ugly house. My budget was small. I had consulted several other architects and my expectations were low. Jeff gave my house a facelift worthy of a television extreme makeover show with just a few modifications. My house is now the talk of the neighborhood. Jeannette Architects designed the remodel of our house. The whole style of the house was changed from contemporary into a more Mediterranean style. From the start it was a pleasure to work with Jeff & his team. They came up with a great look for our house and at the same time implemented all of our own suggestions into the project. The team was hands on at all times and very helpful in resolving issues regarding contractors, city codes, and changes to the project initiated by us. During the project we left the US for about 3 months and during that time Jeannette Architects kept an eye on things for us and reported to us on a regular base on the status of the remodel. We found Jeff Jeannette of Jeannette Architects on the internet after seeing pictures on his website displaying his recent projects. A risky maneuver without a referral, but we couldn't have been happier! Jeff was very knowledgeable and patient with us and our many questions during the design process of our new home. We wanted to be "green" where possible and Jeff helped us by explaining available products and things we could work into our plans. We chose a California Craftsman style Jeff was clever and creative in addressing the spaces we wanted and suggesting terrific ideas that made our new home stand out. Our particular favorite features are the large porches and especially the sleeping porch on the second floor. We are currently in the process of building our home, so I don't have any finished photos to upload yet, but we certainly will when we are done! We've been working with Jeannette Architects on the design of a large scale remodel, including the addition of a subterranean level, overall making the house more efficient while retaining the integrity of the original mid-century design. My wife and I hired Jeannette Architects to assist us with a major remodel (interior/exterior) of our 3,500 sq. ft. ranch style home in Newport Beach. The task: incorporate warm contemporary design into our 1970's "woody cabin."
