EVOQ’s approach to residential and commercial design has evolved as an extension of the expertise and specialties of the firm. For three decades, while best known for heritage Conservation and Inuit and First Nations projects, EVOQ has also realized many innovative contemporary projects that are integrated into their cultural, urban and social contexts. Be it residential, institutional or commercial, heritage or contemporary, each project is developed with a sensitivity to the client’s needs, the community’s needs and to the local urban, suburban or rural setting. They are the result of establishing a clear understanding of the client’s requirements at the outset of a project and developing a strategy that meets those needs while respecting the community’s requirements, goals and constraints. Maintaining human scale is at the heart of EVOQ’s mission, no matter the size of the project. Our strategy combines a rigorous pragmatic analysis of each project, taking into account all parameters including governing regulations, budget constraints, the singularity of each situation, etc., with the development of creative design solutions and proposals.
