I would highly recommend Des Ewing Residential Architects. Having been impressed by his range of impressive domestic builds, we approached Des Ewing to design our forever home (which we are now in the final stages of completing). After our initial meeting, Des took us to see some of his previous projects which greatly helped us in our house style choices. We both had very different opinions as to the style of house we would like. Des managed to merge classic and contemporary styles seamlessly, satisfying both our requirements. From first contact to final planning stage, Des was extremely helpful and always made himself or a member of his hardworking team available to us. His calm demeanor helped us to enjoy what can be a stressful process. His working knowledge of all aspects of the build process impressed us, as did his attention to detail in the plans. It was a pleasure to work with Des. I look forward to completing our 'Des Ewing' house.

Des designed a beautiful self build home for my late husband and I when he was just a young architect and it was such a pleasurable process that I had no hesitation in contacting him again to design a small extension to my present much smaller house on a small development.My only reservation was after watching his rise in his field and the huge houses he designs that my requirements would be something he wouldn’t consider .However , I was quite wrong ,along with Jono Johnston our extension has been approved and will shortly be going to builders for build quotes.Des is so calm ,polite and you can always expect that little bit of magic!Absolutely no hesitation in recommending Des and his firm

We asked Des to design a home for us that would suit the needs of our daughter who suffers from cerebral palsy and for our other two children. We wanted it to look like a fabulous and welcoming family home and yet have in-built the access needs and equipment that is needed for managing our daughter’s care. Our working relationship was excellent. Des listened to us and worked hard to learn about the daily challenges we face in terms of managing the care of a child with a disability and what we were hoping to achieve. He used his creativity and design expertise to create a very special purpose built home for our family. The whole process was very smooth and enjoyable. The dream was gradually becoming a reality in front of our eyes. Des and Conor were very supportive and listened respectfully to our concerns and worries. We all had a shared vision about the home we were hoping to create. It needed to have the accessibility features, equipment , wider doors, technology etc and yet never feel like a hospital. It was a joy going through this process with Des and his professional and caring team. The finished house? It has changed our lives dramatically. Des ensured that the house catered for the needs or our daughter but also he ensured that the house was a real home and catered for the needs of a brother and sister who were teenagers as well as carers. He also made sure that the house met our needs as parents too. So now our home is breathtakingly beautiful. It is modern yet cosy. It is welcoming yet practical. It is functional yet has a relaxing and homely ambience about it. Our caring tasks are part of what happens in our home but also we are able to welcome friends and family to our home . We have space to go off on our own and relax and have some quiet time and yet we can all gather as a family for chat and fun. We just had our first Christmas here. I had been told that building our own house is the most stressful thing that we will ever do in our life . We did not experience that. We trusted the skill and expertise of our architect and his very skilled and special team. We knew we were listened to and understood. We knew that Des was interested and sincere about creating a new life for us in the midst of what has been a very difficult, personal family situation. My wife and I are absolutely delighted with our new home, designed and project managed by Des Ewing Residential Architects. The bespoke design and attention to detail along with a working knowledge of all aspects of the construction impressed us. One of the aspects of working with this practice that most impressed us was their extensive portfolio of one of bespoke homes. A review of their portfolio along with a proven track record and most positive feedback from previous clients allowed us to move forward with confidence. This was our third new build project in ten years but our first with Des and the team but I would be delighted to use them again.

As an interior designer, I would highly recommend Des Ewing Architects. They are an immensely skilled team of architects and designers that create the most beautiful homes, taking great care and consideration for the clients they work for. We approached Des Ewing Residential Architects to design us a family home in the countryside. We were very open minded about the style of architecture and found Des lovely to deal with. After he took us to see some of his previous projects we very quickly knew a modern contemporary style house was for us. Our site was in an ‘Area of outstanding natural beauty’, which meant we had a significant challenge to get planning permission for the flat roof contemporary house Des had designed for us. It took time, but with the help of Des and his team, and against the odds, we managed to convince the Planning department and achieved Planning consent. During the design and planning stage I was working overseas, but Des was excellent at communicating via email etc. in leu of face to face meetings and was always very accommodating on my short trips home. We have yet to progress to the detail design stage of our project but given our experience with Des to date, we are really looking forward to it.

We employed Des to design a large family home where we where looking for a classical/modern design, Des was the second architect we appointed because the first architect practice we appointed was struggling to give us what we wanted, I suppose the trickiest part was we where looking for a house with a lot of glass on front/sea facing elevation but we wanted the house to have a classical look and once you have a lot of glass the house turns modern but Des was able to put features in the design of the house that enabled it to still have a classical look on the front/glass elevation and wrapped the side/rear elevations and an adjoining double garage on beautifully. Throughout the design Des and the team there was very proactive and nothing seemed to be any bother and we believe you are left with a deign that is priceless.
