I am Italian and have been practicing architecture in Italy since 1995, first collaborating with several architectural firms, then as a Partner at Studio Brizzolara &C. in Genova. I relocated to the US with my family in 2011, I spent 5 years in the Boston area and now I have settled in Blacksburg, VA.
My general approach to the project, whatever size it is, is to combine functionality and aesthetics, in a balanced mix that suits the clients’ needs. As for the interior design, I like playing with colors and textures and harmonizing antique and modern, with a kind of “Italian touch”.
Moreover, I have always been interested in green building and I studied at some of the KlimaHaus courses. So I usually approach to projects with an eye on the possibilities of saving energy, choosing natural materials, recycling existing furniture and interacting with the site and the pre-existing conditions.
I worked on different types of projects, from single family houses projects and renovations to urban architecture, industrial buildings and marinas to interior design and custom-made furniture, often following the entire process from preliminary planning to the final construction.
