If you are looking for a responsible architect who will honor his promises on his contracts, look somewhere else! I hired Ricardo early 2020 to assist me with a project for a house I wanted to build on my property. Upon starting the project he requested two weeks to complete a first set of drawings, but after two weeks he requested an additional week as he did not start on my project at all! I respected his request and gave him additional time as he requested but after a month Ricardo never started on my project! After explaining my frustration he made another false promise that he would only need an additional week to complete his initial drawings, but after two months he was never able to fulfill any of his obligations on our contract so I requested for a full refund and a termination of our contract. Out of desperation to catch up on time and termination of our contract he sent me a set of drawings of a client that he had completed years prior. This was very frustrating as I never paid him to simply give me a copy of a drawing that he had completed for another customer and not to mention the drawings looked nothing similar to the examples I had given him on how I wanted my house designed ( the drawings were so off that he even got the garage wrong as I requested my garage on the left side of the house and the design he gave me was on the right side of the house). Overall I had to hire another architect to help me catch up on lost time as Ricardo delayed my construction project three months behind schedule! I am very hesitant on the positive reviews he has as those were the reviews that convinced me he was a solid worker but unfortunately those positive reviews were very deceiving. Again to avoid the same incident that occurred with me I highly recommend looking elsewhere and please make sure to have all contracts notarized as it will help you with any legal actions in getting a full refund as it did with me.

Ricardo was a pleasure to work with. We purchased a historic house that was built in the late 1800"s. We were under a very tight time schedule and Ricardo was very accommodating to our schedule. He had great ideas and we collaborated well together. He worked hard at giving us everything we wanted and keeping the historic characteristics of the house. We have gotten nothing but compliments on our house. Ricardo truly helped in restoring the house back to it's original beauty. I am a real estate agent and would definitely recommend Ricardo and hire him again in a heart beat.

Highly professional, experienced and personable. I hired Ricardo Hendi for a 2nd floor remodeling, which turned out to be the single best investment of a rather large project. At the initial consultation, he proved very experience at reading the building design and the vision of the customer. Ricardo delivered sketches for a range of options within days - least expensive to more elaborate options. When I selected a design, he delivered the full plans which were approved by Arlington County immediately. At that point I was already very happy with the work delivered, but Ricardo's support continued through the project's completion. When I ran into complications (design changes, inspections, contractor work), Ricardo was always available for consultation and seemed to continuously have immediate solutions that allowed the work to continue quickly and economically. When I hired Ricardo, I thought I was just buying the plans, which were excellent. The continued availability, responsiveness and ownership that he felt for my project was impressive. I will only use Ricardo Hendi for my next project

I had a great experience with Ricardo. He was in charge of the renovation at my place. He made the drawings for finished basement with full bathroom, main floor update with new kitchen and upstairs bathroom upgrade. All the duct work was relined and a new air system was installed. He supervised the project and advised the contractor when questions arose.

Ricardo has been amazing to work with. His work has been admired by an endless number of industry professionals who constantly ask me who did my drawings. Ricardo is dedicated and passionate about his work and comes from a seasoned background working with professional firms and has now taken it to the next level by working independently. I have used Ricardo more than one project and my parents have followed my lead. If you are looking for someone who can deliver what you ask for with your best interest in mind, Ricardo is by far your best choice. I will use Ricardo for all my architectural needs going forward.

Ricardo takes a very personal approach to his architectural designs and plans. He worked closely with us to make the plans specific to our needs and had ideas that we didn't even consider. He also takes a hands-on approach to working directly with the contractor and adjusting designs as needed.

Ricardo was patient and super kind throughout the entire permit process. His drawings bring the house to life on paper. His dedication to the project made life so much easier. Hiring him, was hands down the smartest decision!

Arimse Architects was the architect on an office remodel. They provided complete architectural services for the project. We were the general contractor. Communication with us was clear and concise. The drawings were accurate and they provided a great service.

Ricardo Hendi designed a lovely back porch for us about ten years ago, as well as a general updating of the outside of our 100-year-old Dutch Colonial house.
