My goal is to provide each client with personalized unparalleled residential designs and construction documents. I’m working on your project myself; I don’t hire a sub-contractor or a draftsman to assist me with any project. I believe this way each client can rest assured that their project will have no problems. I also work with each home owner and allow them to drive their design by providing them with many alternative designs and solutions. Most people who do what I do come with one design and that is the design you get, yet there can literally be hundreds of different solutions and designs to any home addition. I specialize in creative design, green home designs, incorporating solar and energy saving solutions. Having worked with custom and tract homes for over 31 years, I have the experience to provide services like no other. I also have been interested in residential design from childhood. By the time I started my career, I was well above any colleague I encountered.

Shaun is a dedicated, hands-on designer who's passionate about his work and the people he works with. After reviewing numerous architects and designers as well as checking their references, we decide on Shaun based on his glowing reviews and quality of work. We had a large remodel and throughout the entire process he reviewed progress in detail, made sure we were happy, communicated any concerns, provided suggestions and insights, and also was open to our requests. More than once he went away and thought about a request or change and came back with new solutions that satisfied our desires and always had our budget in mind. He also has very good relationships with others in the industry and was able to make great recommendations that made the process even easier. Better yet, our final plans that Shaun drafted, were approved by the city in the first review, no changes. Shaun is dedicated to getting it right and he puts a lot of thought, effort and heart into his work.

I was referred to Shaun by Robert Nevins who is one of the best contractors in Huntington Beach. Shaun walked through our home with us as we discussed our dream home ideas. He even provided experienced and thoughtful suggestions into certain modifications that we didn’t even think about. He then went to the city to verify our particular irregular lot condition and the requirements; however, due to the city setbacks and height restrictions, our dream ideas need to be modified and scaled back. We are currently thinking about our priorities and plan to move forward one day but we will definitely use Shaun for our project. He is very responsive and knowledgeable. He also takes his time to listen to your needs as well as provides excellent suggestions within an achievable expectation. Very nice and down-to-earth kind of guy, so I would definitely recommend Shaun! Thanks Shaun! :))

We hired Shaun on the recommendation of neighborhood friends who he had worked for. We met with him and found him easy to work with and open to all of our ideas. He designed a huge, tall 3 car garage, attached 2 story studio/loft, and a covered patio area. This was in 2017. When finished we did a quickie remodel of our front house on the property. He had lots of good ideas and steered us back on track anytime we strayed too far but was always open to trying to incorporate whatever it was that we were trying to do. In fact we had possibly hundreds of houzz suggestions that we had in our ideabook and we gave him our password so that he could look over everything that we liked and helped us get it designed. The whole garage structure was a big undertaking having to deal with engineering and the city but he hung in there and fought for us throughout the process. Shaun did a great job for us.

When we decided to move to Colorado, we also decided to build a custom home. We asked Shaun to sit down with us as we told him our ideas, needs and wants. Shaun nailed it with his first design. A few minor adjustments and we now live in that home today. Love it!!

Shaun is truly one of a kind and a true blessing to those who decides to hire him! He is extremely passionate and meticulous with what he does as an amazing architect. He has many great ideas and visions when it comes to home designing. He also genuinely cares for his clients. He is very prompt with all his responses and provides great information and tips. He is not afraid to give you his honest opinions which may be against yours. This was one of the things I truly appreciated about Shaun especially because this is our first remodeling/room addition project. We recently got our plans approved with no corrections needed on the first submittal which says a lot about Shaun, the structural engineer (James Hu) and the Title 24 specialist. I’m very glad I found Shaun. I am willing to bet my bottom dollar that you will not regret hiring Shaun!

Shaun is truly a one of kind artist of his craft. Shaun did a full redesign of our Mission Viejo home and it posed a lot of design challenges. But he took on the challenge and was able to take every one of my dreams and turn it into a reality. We are so happy with the end result and I highly recommend him - you won’t be disappointed with the quality and expertise of his work!

Shaun designed our extensive home remodel and assisted us in achieving all of our wishes. He worked well with our contractor and worked very fast to complete the plans.

Shaun really knows his stuff. He was referred to us by our contractor and they were right - he's very good. He was patient with us as we tried to decide on our new kitchen design and we moved things around. He presented several options and and even found a way to make our dream option work. He used a great structural engineer who helped us figure out the most efficient way to open our walls. Shaun was great in dealing with the city and getting permits. They had very little feedback on the first pass and he quickly got them what they wanted (and pushed back on a crazy request). He's quirky but he's a GREAT architect and we wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Shaun did an amazing job on the plans for our addition. He was very thorough and communicated every step of the way. Even when the city took 4 months to approve our plans, lost our payment etc..., he kept following through. He has called and emailed me many times since the plans were completed to see how our project is going. He genuinely cares for his clients!

My name is Don Norlin. Shaun worked with my wife and I about 10 years ago. I personally worked with him on our house design. It was kind of funny we were going to do a 2 story first, had permits and everything.(job was ready to go). My wife and I decided that maybe we didn’t want to walk up and down stairs in our later years. So so we went back to the drawing board. We stayed with a single story. Our home turned out beautiful, even more so than I had ever dreamed. Shaun is very easy to work with. He has the knowledge of the ever changing codes in our crazy state. I’m a retired Contractor so I know how important this is. Mistakes of that nature can be very costly. One thing that impressed me, was that he was not afraid to tell us what worked and what didn’t. Once again our home turned out gorgeous and we receive compliments from people all the time. In my humble opinion you can not go wrong with Shaun, he’s the best. Don and Sara Norlin
