Karamel Cabinetry is a family-run cabinet and furniture shop located in the Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We fabricate and design custom cabinetry, architectural woodwork, and furniture for residences and businesses throughout the metropolitan New York area. With over twenty years of experience, we apply superior-quality craftsmanship to every project from concept to completion - including installation. Our furniture and cabinets are fabricated with solid wood and raw wood veneer from domestic and exotic species. For each project, the veneer is hand selected and book-matched from the same lot to ensure consistency and quality. Veneers are available in a variety of cuts (bird's eye, burl, quilted, quarter-cut, flat-cut, etc.) and finishes. Contractors are welcome to have their clients' projects reviewed. The website shows examples of three main categories of work, Kitchens & Baths, Furniture and Architectural Woodwork. Karamel is a strong proponent of sustainable design and an increasingly large proportion of production uses renewable resources like bamboo, formaldehyde-free materials and environmentally friendly supplies. As a long-time Brooklyn design and production shop, we are acutely aware of the continued interest in green items. Addressing this need, as you know, takes a multi-tiered approach from not only the wood involved, but the varnishes and sprays that protect it. With this in mind, we are introducing our newest line of bamboo-based tables and mirrors in a non-toxic plant-based varnish. Not only the use of a fast-growing sustainable wood, but also taking into account the reduction in toxicity to the environment of the entire production process.
