It was a pleasure working with the Sweenor Builders Inc TEAM! I had a previous major project with the company when it was established MANY years ago. My family was one of their first customers! We were pleased then and continue to be many years later! I cannot say enough about Sweenor Builders........top notch at every level. This project which consisted of replacing white cedar shingles, special trim work, 65 feet of deck railing and detailing was done while I was at my home in Naples. Never would I have such a project done without being present, however, I have the highest regard for Jeff Sweenor, Owner. From the beginning to the end everything was done professionally, accurately and in a timely manner.......beautiful workmanship. During the project I received text updates as well as photos daily. How I looked forward to the end of every day seeing the progress and beauty of my summer home of 67 years! Upon my return I had the pleasure of meeting the Superintendent of the project. We recently completed our first project with Sweenor Builders--an energy efficient new construction home on Rhode Island's coast and a collaboration between KTID and architect Ron DiMauro. The team was terrific. Of particular note was the quality of the framing. I had more than one subcontractor tell me how impressive it was. The interiors of the home were exceptionally intricate and Sweenor did a great job of handling the custom nature of the whole house, communicating with us and making sure we were kept informed or asked if anything unexpected occurred (which in construction, always does!). I also appreciated that Sweenor was willing to work with some of the tradespeople in my repertoire, and we all worked seamlessly together to create a true work of art. KTID is looking forward to the next project we can collaborate with them on!

I emailed Jeff ( the magazine was quite old, but he was still alive) and he promptly replied that they'd love to do our renovation. We planned it out on paper and they took it from there. We have worked with several contractors over the years and Jeff and his team are at the top of this list! Jeff, his project managers and lead carpenters were always accessible to answer questions and solve issues as they arose during the renovation. They kept the project moving and on time, despite the fact that they uncovered some additional structural faults in the existing building that needed to be corrected. Their craftsmanship is excellent across the board, and team members were responsive and a pleasure to work with. Kristen's interior design support helped make the project a huge success. The Sweenor team made us feel like valued customers.

Internal Renovation of a 1970's house by the beach. Sweenor is a class act and do beautiful work. They might be a little more expensive than some others but with their crews and designer Gracke Design the result was/is fantastic.

Jeff Sweenor built our home from ground up and provided us with a list of businesses from which to choose for flooring, plumbing, granite, cabinets, etc. He was always available to answer questions or concerns by telephone or e-mail. We are most pleased by Sweenor Builders and the house we own and would and do highly recommend them to those seeking an honest, reputable and highly professional builder.

Sweenor Builders is performing a 250,000$ renovation on a home we just purchased. They are renovating the complete house. New kitchen, baths, fireplace, laundry, and master bedroom.

I purchased a new four bedroom, 3.5 bath, single family home from Sweenor Builders in Narragansett, Rhode Island and we were very pleased with our purchase. Every member that we met was very courteous.

It is with pleasure that I write this recommendation for Jeff Sweenor who was the general contractor for our custom designed home built in 2008 in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. My husband and I had previously built four homes so we were very familiar with the process, pitfalls and possible outcomes. Prior to construction, we interviewed several builders, reviewed their work and discussed with Jeff his perspective of the homeowner's home building experience using his company. Mr. Sweenor has a stellar reputation with his Rhode Island customers and, also, with his sub contractors. He was by far the most impressive for his home building knowledge regarding materials, energy savings and overall quality of work, as well as his communications skills with his clients. The house we designed was approximately 4,900 square feet and our building cost to Sweenor Construction was approximately $1,000,000; costs not included were land, landscaping or appliances. The property where we built our new home is on the Rhode Island coast and in a neighborhood with numerous covenants and building restrictions. The house is a unique design with seven gables and adjoining roofs that presented building challenges; all of which Jeff and his team were well equipped to handle. Every nail, material, restriction was thoroughly discussed with Jeff prior to construction and ever contractual spec was met. A detailed contract was executed, but frankly, never looked at since Jeff, as the contractor, met all specifications within our anticipated timeframe for completion; his sole goal was to build a quality home. I would say, of the contractors we used to build our five homes, Jeff was the easiest to work with and delivered the best quality product.

We expanded and replaced ocean front deck, front porch and refinished and closed off a small sun room. In addition, replaced all old windows/ sliders with high impact storm ones. The Sweenor team did an excellent job on everything. They, Jeff (owner), Brian and Doug (project managers), kept us well informed of the progress of the project. They also informed us of some things which appropriately needed to be repaired. The work was done efficiently and very neatly. The yard barely looks disturbed! We were slightly off schedule (1-2 weeks), but the delay was mostly from the permits needed, etc. We had to be away when the majority of the construction was being done and our neighbors commented that "you must have trusted the (Sweenor) builders". Yes we did! Very happy with the quality and overall results.

My Wife and I purchased a vacation home from Sweenor Builders in the Summer of 2014. We discovered the home (one of a group of four in a Sweenor Community in Narragansett Pier) while it was in the final stages of construction. We were initially drawn to the home for its design and location, but were ultimately sold by Sweenor’s craftsmanship. Most notably, the hundreds of small choices— details that may otherwise have gone unnoticed (or ignored by other builders)— that demonstrated a rare commitment to quality (particularly in new/spec homes). Even today— six months after purchase— we continue discover new architectural features, design elements and chosen construction techniques that remind us why Sweenor Builders are known for their attention to detail and unwillingness to cut corners. Craftsmanship aside, we were initially concerned about putting an incomplete home, 200 miles from our primary residence under contract with an aggressive completion timeline (self imposed). We knew that a high level of honest communication would be critical to a smooth completion and closing (particularly given our penchant for micromanagement). Fortunately, we found working with Sweenor Builders to be remarkably uncomplicated: we called, they made themselves available; we emailed, they responded; we asked questions, they had answers; we had a problem, they had solutions. Post closing, Sweenor Builders remained present. Promptly sewing up loose ends, fixing items that needed repair and even lending a helpful hand (or two) to help us settle in (coordinating post-move trash collection, furniture delivery and even helping us to mount a TV!). Through the entire process we never felt that as though we were one party in a transaction; rather, we felt as though Jeff Sweenor (and Sweenor Builders) carried— despite their many projects— the same gravity of importance on this particular home that we, the new owners, did. We very happy with our experience and and would highly recommend (our new friends at) Sweenor Builders to anyone looking to buy, build or renovate a home in Southern Rhode Island.

My wife and I were recently looking to downsize from a large house where we raised our family. We had built two houses over the past 25 years and decided to look for some land and a builder to build a retirement home near the RI coast. Sweenor Builders had just started a project that we were able to intercept that met our needs. The experience with Jeff Sweenor was outstanding. Added a dining room to a home we purchased after the home was originally built.. Project was on time and on budget with no issues whatsoever.

My wife and I love our new home in the "Kingston Preserve" built by Sweenor Builders. Jeff is very "hands on" and personally inspected our home before the closing. After we moved in we encountered a few minor problems that were corrected immediately. The house came standard with nice upgrades such crown molding and GE Profile appliances. The design, layout and quality of our Sweenor Home is excellent. Overall, our experience with Sweenor Builders was terrific.

We purchased a new home from Jeff in Narragansett this past October and the experience could not have gone better. His attention to detail was great and he was a pleasure to deal with from the purchase to the punch list.
