Susan Wintersteen feels most at home designing, building, and giving because bringing beauty to life goes beyond textiles and tile. In 2002, she founded Savvy Interiors, an interior design firm with its own general contractor license. With each project, Susan endeavors to give dimension to her client’s creative vision by producing unrivaled results that exceed expectations. She finds joy in the small things, like demolishing worn, dated, or distasteful rooms into piles of rubble that rise from the ashes into gorgeous kitchens, bathrooms, and beyond. And speaking of joy, Susan founded Savvy Giving by Design in twenty-fourteen after offering to makeover a local teen’s room who’d been diagnosed with cancer, a medical crisis. The experience was so undeniably moving that she made it official and so this beautiful nonprofit was born. She believes that bringing joy into the lives of those who are facing hardship is one of the greatest gifts you can give. Susan is a straight-shooting, fun-loving, and award-winning creative, who’s all about making life an adventure. She lives in San Diego with her husband where they’ve raised their 5 daughters and she’s busy expanding Savvy Giving by Design nationally.
