Bob Coombs father built our house 20 years ago. Bob Jr.actually worked with his father(and others) on the house. When we needed to modify the laundry/mud room and add a shower this year he was the first contractor we considered. He completed the job in the specified time and provided useful suggestions. We are very pleased with the results and would recommend R L Coombs Inc for any project- large or small.

We hired Bob Coombs to build our dream cottage in Harpswell, ME and he was so incredibly patient throughout the entire process. He stuck with us through various iterations of designs and ideas, always providing a professional and respectful opinion. Living out of state we appreciated his constant communication (including photos). We always felt like we were part of the project, even though we were not there watching over the progress. Without hesitation we would recommend Bob and his crew 100% of the time. They are professional and have an incredible attention to detail. They made our dream come true and we are forever thankful.

We hired Bob Coombs of RL Coombs, Inc. in the summer of 2016 to build us a large deck off of our sunroom that would surround our newly purchased 8 person Jacuzzi. Bob and his team were wonderful to work with from the beginning stages of planning to the finished product. Bob's attention to detail and desire to complete a superb product is very clear from start to finish. Bob was very flexible and understanding through the design whole process. He gave us his professional opinion on all facets of the project when necessary and always kept a good line of communication through the entire project. I highly recommend Bob and his team as they were great to work with, knowledgeable and always punctual with deadlines.

I have hired RL Coombs for two exterior projects. The first project was the addition of a front porch on my home. Robert was very personable and knowledgeable about choices for building materials. He completed the project in a timely manner and adhered to the proposed budget. The worksite was always clean at the end of the day and the work was completed without any damage to existing shrubs. The project turned out beautifully and greatly increased the appeal of the front of my house. The other project was installation of shutters to all windows of my home- this project also went very well.

We bought a log cabin in Brunswick Maine. Nice house but there were some adjustments that we wanted to make. It was great that we learned about Bob Coombs at RL Coombs, Inc. Bob and his men did excellent work for us on every thing that we wanted including a new roof on the porch, removal and replacement of a greenhouse with just a wonderful, cozy room, as well many other jobs between 2011 and 2014. To put it succinctly, if I had a need for construction in the Brunswick Maine area RL Coombs is the company I would call without reservation. We have since moved to Florida, otherwise Bob would still be doing work for us.

Since purchasing my home back in 1994 I have had RL Coombs, Inc. (Bob) do a number of projects for me. He has done a complete roof and attic insulation project, replaced all windows with newer, more energy efficient units, has done a complete strip down of the outside of the home and replaced it with insulation and new siding, has designed and built a car port to my specifications, and recently fixed a wet basement and installed a sliding glass door, replaced an older door, and insulated various areas. Bob comes highly recommended-you get the high quality you expect, he is upfront with costs and keeps you in the loop with any and all unexpected additions you could encounter in your estimate. Bob has a great sense of humor, arrives ready to work on time and ready to do the job, cleans up his mess after, and does an excellent job communicating with his clients.Hands down one of the best in this area.

The contractor did an excellent job helping with kitchen renovations from installing a new window, to installing new kitchen cabinetry and exterior venting. His work was excellent with great attention to detail. He's very pleasant and does the job he says he will do in a timely fashion.

We have hired RL Coombs to do several projects for us over the last six years. He first did a two-story addition with master suite, sun-room, library, a two-car garage, and basement. Then he remodeled our kitchen and two bathrooms. Then he added a 3rd car, pass-thru garage and moved a small cottage for us. He has also done some smaller jobs for us. He returns calls promptly. He starts when he says he will and his estimate for time to finish the projects have always been almost spot on. There are never "no-shows". Once he starts a job, he stays until it is done (no job shuffling). He is VERY reliable and a pleasure to work with. His workmanship is great. His crew and his subcontractors are all polite. The job site is cleaned up on a daily basis. Any overages on either budget or time-line were because of changes we made or because of back-orders on special orders. We have recommended RL Coombs to friends, who have also hired him. We highly recommend RL Coombs to anyone looking for a company offering high quality workmanship combined with professional, polite, prompt work.

My wife and I hired Bob, from RL Coombs, Inc., 10 years ago to put a two story addition on our home. We could not have been more impressed with the beautiful result. Not only did he design and build the family room of our dreams, a guest room with an ensuite bathroom and a walk-in closet, but a loft that is now my wife's craft center (and on holidays, our grandchildren's dorm). A few years later, he designed and constructed a new deck with a three season enclosed porch that we practically live in, especially when we entertain. This year he reconfigured and modernized the entire downstairs of our colonial home, opening up smaller rooms and giving the downstairs a much needed "open" concept. So, we now use all of our beautiful space, including our new modern kitchen. W e highly recommend R. L. Coombs, Inc. for the beautiful custom workmanship. Bob does exceptional work. He provided us with an exact drawing of the proposed project and completed it as was described in the blueprint. Bob and Andrew built an egress for our 3rd floor apartment. It was in a difficult position, and it was done beautifully and looks as if it always belonged on the house, i.e. not an eyesore. We have a 1905 home, so it was tricky to make it look good with the age of the home. Bob always calls back when I call him. He calls or emails when he will be on the job and he and Andrew always show up when they were scheduled to be on the job. They always left the site clean and were respectful of our needs and the needs of our tenants. I have never had such a good experience with a contractor, and we are going to hire him to remodel our home. I am confident he will do a good job.

The replacement of our front door was just the latest of several construction jobs that RL Coombs has done over the last 13 years. The work has always been done very professionally, with good and understandable estimates and with excellent follow through. Their experience shows in coming up with good, innovative alternative approaches that I could pick from. Jobs were completed on time and with fine craftsmanship. The owner and employees of RL Coombs do know the construction business. I would highly recommend their work to anyone. Additionally, the owner, Bob Coombs, has a very friendly and warm personality. It is clear that he is looking out for his customer's best interests.
