My wife and I had been looking to build a home for quite a while when we happened across Pendragon Homes and their model in the Mason area while simply driving around and looking at newer subdivisions. We actually saw a couple builders' models in the same area, but were immediately drawn to the unique design and appeal of this particular model. The model seemed far beyond what we could afford, but it was beautiful, so we decided to just have a look anyway. This is when we met Amanda, and after nearly an hour of talking about the home and their business, we knew we found the people we were going to build with.
The process took a long time with Pendragon, which is important to note because we asked them if we could draw it out to help us save for our down payment, and they said it would be no problem. We asked if we could do things on our schedule, and they went out of their way to make sure that is exactly what happened. This is how our experience started, and this is how it remained the entire time.
We spent a long time talking with Amanda about what we liked and what we could afford to build, and she spent meeting after meeting with us making sure it could be done. Out house is completely custom, and everything we wanted is there because of the time she took to work things out with us. I cannot emphasize enough how great the personal experience was with the people at Pendragon. This is one of the most important and financially significant decisions of your life, and we could not be more thankful that they made it comfortable for us. This had every opportunity to be a tedious and nerve fraying process, but it never was. We actually looked forward to our meetings with Amanda and would find ourselves just talking like old friends in the middle of selections meetings and realizing we had all just let time slip away. We would even stop by to say hi to everyone there if we were in the neighborhood, because that is the kind of staff they have.
The entire design process was an overwhelmingly pleasant surprise. We expected a chore and a fight, and not once did it end up being that way.
The build process was just more of the same. Randall was in charge of our build from start to finish, and this man was the single best contractor I've ever personally had the pleasure of meeting. He was always professional, and would always answer a question, even if it was on his personal time. It was unbelievable how little an issue would come up while the build was taking place, but if it ever did, Randall was there immediately. He would go out of his way to make things exactly how we wanted them. To this day, my wife and I find it a bit surreal to say that things went so smoothly. It seems everyone has some sort of story of things going wrong on a custom home, but I can honestly and proudly say that this never happened to us. The key to this is that if anything came up, they always fixed it. These are top quality people that only ever used quality subs, and it just leads to a much smoother process, from beginning to end.
When it's all said and done, we will always recommend Pendragon to anyone looking for a higher quality custom home. The experience was so great, we still stop by from time to time, just to say hi to everyone and catch up. The people there are the best and the product follows suit.
