We built with Peak from 2019-2021. Peak has been fined by the DPOR for not following the change order process throughout our build and also using many unlicensed subcontractors. (he used at least 8 that we are aware of). Our house was estimated to have 1.3 million in damages due to his faulty construction and dishonest practices. Without our knowledge, he substituted our custom choices with cheaper materials over and over again and did not refund us. He tried to charge us a $12,000 a month delay fee (for 6 months) which he completely made up. The floor of our pool storage room rotted and collapsed after one year exposing a 10 foot drop with no backfill or ventilation. We discovered at least 20 code violations after moving in. He installed a used HVAC unit that was registered to and previously installed in another house. He placed gas logs that required ventilation in an unvented fireplace. He added on tens of thousands of dollars in labor charges that we only discovered after closing. Our HVAC system has to be redone because his units and runs are drastically undersized. He pretended to run electrical lines into the yard for post lights, even marking where they were, yet actually just capped them at the wall of the house and never did it. I could go on and on but I'll stop there.

We met Matt Gruber early on in the process of selecting our lot, and we knew at that moment that he was the right "fit" for us. There's no other way to say it: Matt gets it. He worked with us to build our dream home, and was with us (and on the same page) every step of the way. Peak checked all the boxes for us. We've since recommended Peak over and over, and have even used Peak for a separate garage project. Both have been fantastic experiences--with even better end products/results.

We couldn't be happier with the home Peak designed and built for us. This wasn't our first custom home, so we have a point of comparison. Matt and Summer Gruber and the team they have assembled, are terrific. Anyone who has built a home knows that you want your builder to tell you the truth; do what they say they're going to do when they said they would do it; complete the project in a timely manner and on budget; take responsibility for their mistakes (everyone makes mistakes, people); and, address any post-closing problems, if there are any. Matt and Summer and their very capable team do all this, because they are good and smart and hard-working. On top of all that, and that's a lot, they build the most beautiful, well-crafted homes. AND they are the nicest people!

Plus, Matt is easy to get along with, which is a plus considering you will be communicating regularly over an 8-9 month period.
