Mitch’s attention to detail and quality of construction is second to none. The cost and value add of his homes are superior. Warranty is minimal and is addressed in a timely manner. Without hesitation if you want quality and value in a home you must consider Mitch Harris custom homes.

DO NOT BUY FROM MHB. The owner Mitch has integrity issues and will cheap out and blame others.We just had a water line leak in our front yard.The Twp. repaired it, they said it was a bad install (cross threaded fitting by MHB). When we asked MHB to repair the yard Ray said the Twp.was lying or the landscaper must have done it.Mitch after realizing this was his,said they would hand rake and throw dry seed at the side of a clay hill.Multiple landscapers told us that this would not work and was a poor repair.Proper repair would involve machine grading,top soil,and at a minimum hydroseed(all of which we had already done).When my wife and I asked Mitch about this proposed fix,he said that if we didn’t like it, we should sell our house and move out.The builder is incredibly difficult to work with, they charge a premium for a lack of accountability,there were numerous times we were told one thing and given another, changes occured that were not approved (15k daylight? see pic) .

If I could give them negative stars I would. Worst purchasing experience I could ever imagine. Mitch cares about nothing but his money, and once he has it your on your own. Doesnt fix things that are wrong, doesnt respond to emails, doesnt respond to phone calls. Complete ignorance. Their "estimaters" tale 2 months to figure out a price, and usually have NO idea what your actually asking for. 2 ft of water at the end of my driveway every time it rains at all, cant get in or out with a standard car; has flooded the inside of cars 3 times now. Mud collects in the road which is then brought into the garage from cars which is then tracked into the house from shoes. Took 3 months for final grade on lot, and they wouldn't give me money they owed me until that was done. Wouldnt grade the lot like I wanted or bring in more dirt like I asked. Wouldn't do half the stuff I asked for on a "custom" home, and if they said they could do it they just priced it so high that no one would pay that anyways. A 3 year old could paint better than the inside is painted. Horrible office communication within company; I had to check EVERYTHING to make sure it was done as specified, and then they want to argue it wasnt specified that way. Tried to charge me for things that weren't done. Constant lies to cover their own mistakes. Constant promises that are broken. Constant timelines that are not met. The list goes on. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!!

I built a new home in 2016 with Mitch Harris Building Company. This was my first new build and I felt very comfortable during the entire process working with Mitch, Theresa, and many other professionals along the way. The construction process was completed right on schedule with no major complications. The home turned out beautiful and we could not be happier living here. I had high expectations and they were certainly met. If you are looking for a new build or remodel I would encourage you to look into working with Mitch Harris. I frequently refer Mitch and will continue to do so.

Our home is WONDERFUL. It is exactly what we had been dreaming of. Our foreman was responsive and thoughtful, and the office staff was bubbly and kind. We had several negotiation discussions that were not always pleasant, but were able to come to reasonable agreements every time. I think when folks are unhappy, they aren't reading their agreements thoroughly. This along with with the corresponding conversation should be done initially to prevent conflict as much as possible. Overall, the product is great and we could not be happier. We are nearing our one-year mark and we have several items that need to be addressed. I am confident that they will be taken care of.

We had MHB build our home in 2013. We had decided to build as this was our retirement home and we didn't want to have to take money out of our retirement funds to pay for new furnace, roof, floor etc. In addition we designed the home to be barrier free- 36 in doors throughout, roll-in shower for two so we could roll a wheelchair in if need be in the future. Everything on the main floor we would need. Including a front door entrance that would not have any steps with the exception of the door threshold. What we have: steps to the front door, repairs to the AC and furnace, roof leaks, plumbing issues on both toilets, both showers and all sinks, paint issues MHB could not/would not repaint our home so we are paying for that as well, wood/laminate floors that are cupping and splintering, cement porch crumbling, All in the first year! The first month we moved in we began our list of repairs and were told by Mitch to hold off until the 11th month. We did so reluctantly! They here were never fixed. In addition we had 150 nail pops throughout the first floor int eh first 6 months. MHB staff came out, screwed the nail in and plastered over them. However, MHB does not come back and paint them. A month later they were all back. Finally we hired structural engineer who informed us in his written report how to repair the nail pops. Apparently MHB did not know how to repair this or just doesn't care once he has your money. We had change orders on items that if they had been communicated in the beginning such as options we had there would have been less change orders. Mitch does not reply to email or phone calls. He does not reply with request either. In fact when I requested he send me a list of his contractors as we want to be sure we do not hire the contractors he used on our home he said he would help me if I removed my review on HOUZZ. I removed it yet he has not provided me with the information. So I am posting my review again. I will never recommend MHB. In fact I know many people who are living in MHB homes who are not happy.

The people at MHBC were total professionals to work with. They were able to take our plans and build us exactly what we wanted while living in another state. Great quality and attention to detail. We love showing our home off.

Recently moved into our newly built home in Nov 2015 constructed by MHB. Initial planning of our project went reasonably well. Construction began and the overall schedule was on time. Even though this is a MHB plan there were minor issue with actual construction but those items were resolved. The issues that lead to the 2 Star rating involve poor business management practices; little to no communication and implementing changes without consulting the home owner that had a major financial impact. This probably should be a 1 star rating since I would not recommend. When we hired MHB we were looking for a general contractor to work with us on various details on a new construction project. In the end we dealt with an erogant contractor and subcontractors that changed plans previously agreed upon without any communication. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Mitch Harris Building Company is an amazing company!! They build with the highest quality in mind. We have had the privilege of working with them on many projects and are proud to design homes that they build!!! We would highly recommend (and have several times) Mitch Harris to anyone who was seeking a great, easy to work with, building company!!

Mitch Harris Building Company did an excellent job of completely renovating our 1940's home. We are very happy with the work that was done and we love our home. Mitch is a great guy and he has excellent people who work for him. It was a pleasure working with all of them. They are all very professional. I would recommend them to anyone!

Date: April 9, 2015 In September of 2013 we meet with Mitch Harris and Theresa Eiguren to inquire about building a new home in Pine Creek Ridge. While we found that meeting to be professional and informative, we left thinking building a new home was a bigger financial project then we were willing to take on and thus continued to view existing homes. In February of 2014, after viewing a plethora of homes, we put a deposit on a spec home being built by another builder in Pine Creek Ridge. At the time of our deposit, the builder promised us the world: home completed within the next 8-10 weeks, high-end finish carpentry, dry walled basement, decking, boulder walls, stamped concrete patio, etc. With all those lofty promises, we sold our existing home and moved our entire family into my mother’s basement. As the weeks passed, it became more and more apparent to us that this builder was anything but professional and the quality we were promised was simply not present. After realizing this builder was full of empty promises we walked, no ran, away from the purchase agreement. Following this extremely stressful situation, Julie reached out to others who had built homes in the community and unanimously, they all stated Mitch Harris was the builder to contact. One homeowner even stated that ten years later he was still completely satisfied. With that new information, we contacted Theresa and within in a few days we found ourselves back in the meeting room at Mitch Harris Building. That second meeting, proved not only to professional and informative but it became crystal clear to us that Mitch Harris knew how to build a quality home and empty promises were not a part of his program. Within a very short time frame, Mitch had his architects design the exact type of home we desired, we had an actual building agreement, and a new lot picked out. Wow, what a difference! Throughout the next nine months, our confidence in Mitch Harris Building only continued to grow. What Mitch stated would happen, did, and not only were promises kept but the quality of our home not only met our picky expectations, but in many ways completely exceeded them. Every subcontractor was professional and we were amazed to see workers at our home on Thanksgiving Day, News Year Day and even on Christmas Eve. Each worker not only did their job well but some even amazed us: Christian is the first one who comes to mind. His work is simply amazing; he is a true artist and everyone who views our woodwork and built-ins comment on his artistry. Yes, good leaders know how to hire the right people. Nice job Mitch. This sense of high quality was not only clear to us with the building trade workers but with the Mitch Harris Staff: Theresa, Pete, Karen, Ashley and Nancy were all wonderful. Ashley always greeted us with a smile and her positive attitude was contagious. Karen, we simply love her. She was efficient, skilled and her outgoing personality was inviting. Nancy was also extremely skilled and proficient. Basically, the entire office staff was welcoming and ever time we stopped by the office everyone made us feel special. Theresa was our rock. She allowed us to research all the various options and her patience with Julie’s crazy need to view every possible option was fabulous. While she works for Mitch we always felt like she had our backs and when needed she made sure all the promised items were delivered. Pete was our other rock and his attention to details was extremely appreciated. We have built two previous homes, thus our knowledge of all the aspects of building is strong, but without a doubt, Pete caught even the smallest features, ones we did not even notice. He simply kept a list of things to be done and his ability to juggle all the details in a quick and efficient manor is to be admired. Between Pete’s, and Mitch’s, attention to detail little to nothing wasn’t caught and taken care of. The construction site was spotless and every time a mess started to accumulate, one of them had the site cleaned. We even coined the cleaners “The Cleaning Fairy’s” because it seemed like they would come sweeping in during the night and have the house cleaned by morning, (We think Pete may have been on of those Cleaning Fairy’s ☺). Yes, their attention to every minute detail was not only noticed but also respected. In the end, we moved into our house earlier than first stated and this process, while stressful at times, overall was actually fun. Mitch, we knew when we meet you that you were a solid builder but a year later we now understand the true magnitude of your ability. We not only respect you, and your team, but we now consider all of you friends. Thank-you is such a small word but one that means so much. Thank you for building us a fabulous home and most importantly, thank-you for making sure we came out of a messy situation in a positive place. We love our new home! My wife and I are retired and were in need of a one story ranch style home. While Mitch Harris had one completed, we had not sold our 2 year old two story home that we were compelled to purchase as no ranch homes could be found when we relocated to MI. Mitch and Karen worked diligently to come up with a way for us to purchase our Mitch Harris home without the need to take out a second mortgage. We are eternally grateful for this. Yes, our two story home sold 1 month after we closed on the ranch home. We have purchased ten new construction homes in 49 years of marriage. We must say that Mitch Harris' Team does excellent work. As we have had with every other home we purchased, there were warranty issues. Those that needed immediate attention were addressed timely via Ashley and Scott. At the end of the first year, we submitted a list to Ashley and between Scott and the subs, everything was addressed satisfactorily in a timely fashion. We are very happy with our home and would recommend Mitch Harris Building Co., Inc. to anyone considering building a new home in the area.
