Studio William Hefner

William Hefner’s fascination with architecture, nurtured by international travel as a student that fully awakened his appreciation for art and detail, has led to the pursuit of his career. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History (including a year of study in Greece), he went on to receive his Master of Architecture degree from UCLA. Hefner then worked for Skidmore, Owings and Merrill before founding William Hefner Architecture Interiors and Landscape in 1989. What distinguishes his diverse portfolio is an aesthetic sensibility that combines livability with a luxury of details and materials. The vision for projects is executed across the disciplines of architecture, interiors and landscaping. The firm’s work is elegant, expressing an appreciation of craft with an emphasis on natural materials. His projects have been widely featured in numerous publications both national and international. In 2007 the Robb report named Hefner a member of the top 30 architects in the world for luxury residences.
