Since establishing The Design Standard in 1998 the single pursuit and drive has been exceptionalism. Many builders, designers & architects want to repeat a design that has been used before many times over, but when considering the budgets that are entrusted to us, we want to give our customers a design that is quite simply unique, a design that truly captures what our clients call home.

Working with The Design Standard has been a great and pleasurable experience. We purchased a home which was built in the 80s, and needed to be fully renovated (down to the studs). Henry Gonzalez has a great feel for the current trends in home design, and brings great vision to this very dynamic design process. Being very knowledgeable and experienced in the Ft. Myers & Naples area, Henry has made several recommendations of sub-contractors along the way, all of which have been top notch, very capable craftsmen. One of the great things about working with Henry is his endless attention to detail, which has greatly enhanced the design, and has saved a lot of unnecessary costs throughout our project. Go with The Design Standard....you will be very happy you did!

Henry Gonzalez is an absolutely wonderful architect from start to finish. From our first appointment he made it a priority to understand our vision and dreams and incorporate them into our house design. He refined and modified the design so it captured every element we wished for in the house. The sight lines are amazing! We have been so pleased every time we walk through the house. It is beautiful and just what we wanted. Henry has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Responsive and so very pleasant. We would highly recommend him.

Henry did a wonderful job in planning and designing the full house remodeling project we completed in 2015. His detailed drawings and willingness to work with us to spec out all major components of the project saved us time and money and also made the project smoother for our General Contractor and for the Sub- Contractors. We would recommend Henry Gonzalez and The Design Standard without hesitation!

TY both for your confidence and trust during this long process. Without a doubt it was an incredible challenge to make that existing house comply to my mind. I had to bend, break and blowout walls left and right front and back but the house truly became an eXceptional home and one project that will be on my mind continually and always.

We were introduced to Mr. Gonzalez when we began working with our builder of a single family house in early 2013 for completion in 2014. He was very easy to work with and was very responsive to our wishes. We used a model that our builder had and changed it to fit our needs. Mr. Gonzalez was with us every step of the way with timely changes and creative suggestions. The construction went smoothly and without any architectural problems. We chose Henry Gonzalez to design a Transitional Style estate home in Mediterra, after interviewing several designers and architects in Naples, FL. Henry approached our project thoughtfully, responding to our wants and needs. His vision and creativity allowed us to include all the features we requested while implementing additional design aspects suitable to the style of our home. Henry artfully combines beautiful design inside and out; creating a balance between symmetry and "wow". We appreciate Henry's aesthetic and his continuing attention to detail during the construction phase of our home.

I've been working with Henry Gonzalez on a custom home in the community of Mediterra in Naples, Florida for over a year. Henry is as attentive now as he was at the beginning of our project. We began our relationship with a lot of conversation about layout, desired interior and exterior features, and functionality. Henry put it all on paper and worked with me through five revisions before we broke ground. He found ways to do things I thought were impossible. Although our main flooring is in, Henry remains involved. He continues to visit the property periodically and just recently caught a misstep with a major outdoor detail! Very glad we have Henry as our architect and advisor. I will update this review when the home is completed.

Having worked with the DS for 15 years I'm still amazed with the creativity. Excellent in translating one's thoughts to paper and designing dreams into a finished product. There is no limit to the imaginative process with their designs.

Henry is very easy to work with and captures your vision quickly with great results. We are thrilled with the home that he has designed for us. In particular, the curb appeal and the attention to detial on the interior floor plan has created a beautiful flow to the house and eye popping presence.

Henry designed a home for us in Mediterra in 2007. We had such an amazing experience we decided to design and build another home with him. The words "this can't be done" do not come out of his mouth. If you want the best personalized service then Henry is your man! The attention to detail is amazing. Currently we are constructing a 9200 +/- home. He even worked very close with the pool architect to tie everything together. Contact me if you want a reference. A++
