studioCJF.inc …is the embodiment of a dream long coming… A dream of a small private practice that wears many hats, with focus and concentration on personal service, attention to detail and inspired solutions... About Me- With more than 30 years of practice in and around Chicago, I have been exposed to a unique mixture of building types and design situations. This experience has allowed me to develop an inherent passion for problem solving and design that is best described as eclectic. By definition this can mean many things, however in my practice, this means exploring the opportunities instinctively and intuitively to develop a solution that is logical in its conclusion of form, function, style and detail. This approach has served me well in the design and construction of many projects involving a wide variety of complexities, uses and scales. Since beginning studioCJF, my practice has concentrated on residential and small commercial projects. Occasionally I have an opportunity to collaborate with other architectural firms as a Design/Technical consultant. However, given the nature of my one-man office, it is the small, interesting, detailed project that consumes my focus. These projects usually require a creative solution to solve a unique and often difficult situation while maintaining a high level of client interaction and professional service. One project that illustrates this best is the “Michigan Residence” profiled on my Houzz-Pro page. This custom single family residence in Saugatuck, Michigan was a second home for a Chicago couple. Another project type that is well suited to studioCJF is the renovation and expansion of Coop/Condominium units. These projects typically combine two or more adjacent units into a larger more spacious home. Combining adjacent units, either horizontally or vertically, involves a sophisticated knowledge of an existing structure and the systems embedded within, along with the experience, ability and knowhow to manipulate and exploit the existing condition.
