Not mad, just disappointed. Initially, my experience was really positive. I got my voicemail returned quickly, got an appointment set up the same day, every interaction with staff was positive. I was very impressed and felt like I was in good hands… until I mentioned to a couple people how much I paid. After digging into my invoice I realized quite a few things: • I was charged nearly twice the retail cost for parts, which is especially disappointing since a company of this size is likely to be purchasing their supplies at wholesale prices. This also means that when I asked the technician about the price of the motor that he lied to my face, saying the company makes no money off of motors. • I called in to have a spring replaced, but when the tech got there he said I needed to have much more replaced… considering that he lied so easily about the markup on motors I really wonder how much of that was truthful. • Other parts were replaced without consulting me at all. And honestly, that would have been okay with me, welcome even, if the price of the parts was competitive with retail but with such a huge markup it just feels like a money grab. • There were some steep labor fees for extremely simple processes, things I would have just done myself if I had been told ahead of time what the fee would be. In hindsight some things were addressed up front and others were just added and performed and snuck into the invoice without my knowing. The tech seemed like he was being honest in the moment, I really truly felt like I was being taken care of at the time, but upon really reviewing the invoice after the fact it’s clear to me that wasn’t the case. I don’t mind paying top dollar for an expert, I think someone who has mastered their craft should earn a wage that reflects their skill, and while I have confidence in the //technical// skill of my technician, I left this transaction feeling conned and taken advantage of. I definitely feel that more parts were added than necessary at a significantly inflated rate, and I feel that I paid egregiously more than what I would consider fair, even for an expert. I really hoped that a company with so many positive reviews would be a company that I could trust, a company that would be fair, but I can’t say that’s been my experience. Especially as a single mom, I really lean on the service providers I hire to have integrity and care for their customers. It feels pretty rotten to have money that I work really hard for, money I have to stretch to keep my little family afloat, clawed at in this way. That’s certainly not how I run my business. For any future buyers, I highly recommend you do your homework, know the parts, know the prices, and don’t be afraid to thoroughly review your invoice before signing off on it. Or save yourself a TON and buy the parts yourself. The bottom line is, you should be able to trust an expert without worrying about being swindled and in my experience, you won’t find that here.

We highly recommend Same Day Garage Services for any of your garage door needs. We ordered a garage door in a custom color to be done by the manufacturer. Our door, obviously, doesn’t fall under “same day” services, so I can’t comment on the emergency side of the business. But I can say that Peter Brown, the owner of this family business, provided wonderful customer service. He really knows garage doors, and patiently explained all the differences between the various options as well as hardware issues like struts, spring cycles, and reinforcement brackets. We felt really confidant that we were getting a high quality door for a very reasonable price, and were not disappointed. We LOVE our new garage door! It’s quiet, smooth running, and so beautiful. It really makes our house look so much nicer than the one that came with the house. Until we got a new door, I never really thought about how transformative they could be. It kind of makes me glad we busted the old one. I also want to tell 2 stories about Peter. First, Peter even took the time to help me choose my custom color. This was not a quick reinforce-what-the-customer-wants-and-let’s-get-out-of-here episode. He transformed into Chip and Joanna Gaines from FIXER UPPER right before my eyes as he went through my picks and my discards of paint swatches to get just the right color that would work with the trim and multi-colored stones of our exterior and yet be light enough to keep the heat down. I ended up going with a color I hadn’t even considered, and was happy I did. The other story is that he installed the garage door all by himself. The day of the installation his worker was sick, and yet he still came. I actually was horrified and was very reluctant to believe that he could handle the large, heavy sections alone without dropping, banging, denting, or scratching some part of the door. I eventually let him do it, but I wouldn’t watch. Guess what? He put it up perfectly, quickly, and without incident! I’ve stopped counting how many times other home improvement projects have had a major hiccup by carelessness or poor work, so Peter’s expertise puts him up there in my not-very-crowded pantheon of recommended businesses. Plus, it is local and family owned, which I feel is something to be supported over major chains.

Peter knows his business very well and after repairing my initial problem he indicated to me another potential problem that was then taken care of. I appreciated him telling me because this eliminated another service call. I would highly recommend his business.

Pete was very prompt in responding to our problem. Fixed the seal on the bottom of the door the same day as we called. He was very friendly and did the job right.

So happy we used Same Day Garage Door Services. We called late in the afternoon and the very next day he was able to come out and replace our whole unit. Pricing was very competitive and service was fantastic!

Excellent customer service. Called for an estimate on the repair of a broken spring. On a Sunday. With cars stuck in garage. He was accommodating and courteous. Arrived on time and completed work without any up sell. He did offer advice on future maintenance as well. I really could not have been more pleased with the timeliness and professionalism. Highly recommended.

Top tier service My garage door basically collapsed, with storms in the forecast, i needed fast help. Less than 15 minutes after my call, Peter assessed, and recommended the fix. The price and work were great, he fixed and serviced the door, more than we agreed on. Very proffesional service.

Peter did a quick and professional job replacing my garage door opener. It used to be very noisy and now is super quiet. I can even open the garage door with the app on my phone which is something really helpful
