Axis Architects did a superb job of making our vision a reality. They created a living space that we absolutely love. My husband and I decided to enlarge our family home. We knew we couldn’t do it alone and began to search for local architects. We loved the photos we saw on Houzz that portrayed much of the work Axis had completed. The design we ended up choosing allowed us to keep some of the old blended seamlessly with a new relaxed living space. Our new space provides lots of room to entertain family and friends. The house is flooded with natural light. Large windows and clean lines make for an inviting, beautiful, and comfortable living space. Shahnur and Elena listened carefully to what we were looking for and delivered it in fine detail. We also used the design team to complete the interior details, so the house would come together and it was perfection. We are very thankful to have crossed paths with Axis Architects. They have created an extraordinary home that we will enjoy for many years to come.

Shahnur and Elena at Axis Architecture are a wonderful team! They are able to take your vision wall and turn it into the house of your dreams. They are responsive to input in revising the plans and patient when you try to explain something you don’t have the architectural words for. The architectural plans are detailed, comprehensive, and they passed the city review the first time. They always respond to email and have been a great help with navigating the “now we have the plans it’s time to actually build it” process.

The owners of Axis Architects, Elena and Shahnur, are top notch! We worked with them for almost a year in building our home and the entire time they were responsive, personable and understanding (as we changed our minds many times). They also provided awesome references for other part of the project that had nothing to do with design. Elena especially really took the time to work with us and made sure that we were happy with every detail. I highly recommend this architect company.

It was overwhelming to begin imagining new spaces in our nearly total home renovation. It was nothing but a pleasure to work with Axis Architects. They worked with us every step of the way. When we had to make adjustments to plans to stay within the budget they helped us figure that out too. We had a mudroom, office/den, new kitchen open to the dining room, master suite, and new bathroom. I had a vision for what I wanted to do with our renovation, but Shahnur and Elena not only helped me get it done efficiently (we got our plans approved by the County on round 1), but took many of the ideas to a higher level. For example, the screened-in porch design and the master bath vanity design are stand-outs! And they are a true pleasure to work with, which I think is so key in this kind of a relationship.

We had the great pleasure of hiring Axis Architects to redesign the layout of our third floor in our townhouse to increase the overall functionality for our family of 4. More specifically, they worked on the master bathroom layout, creation of laundry room, and expansion of closets in secondary bedrooms. We decided to use their architectural services to make plans before hiring general contractors (GC) in order to have the proper plans suited to our desire. During the design stage, Shahnur and Elena came with three great and creative preliminary designs addressing the functional needs of our family. Upon final design selection, they provided a demolition and building plan, filed building permit, and even helped with contractor recommendations. In addition to the quality work provided by Shahnur and Elena, they stayed involved during the construction phase by reviewing the plan early on with the GC, making themselves available to discuss specific details with the GC, and came by to our home to see the overall progress of the construction according to the design. Working with Shahnur and Elena was effortless and a great experience, as they understood what we looked for and remained engaged during the construction. We would recommend Axis Architects to help with any of your construction designs, their commitment is outstanding and their creativity is remarkable. We will rehire Shahnur and Elena for home future designing projects within a heartbeat.

Sahnur and Elena did a great job in the design of our laundry needs. We converted a small linen closet into an upstairs laundry and redesigned the adjoining rooms closet w/out compromising space and storage in either room. This was a pretty complicated undertaking w/many revisions and approaches. They handled our requirements w/aplomb. They provided 3 alternate options at the beginning of the project so we could choose the design that best fit our needs and budget. They are great to work with, reasonably priced, and communicated effectively during the entire project. Thanks to a well thought out design, our permitting process was a breeze (no failed inspections). I would highly recommend them. We love the convenience of an upstairs Laundry.

We hired Axis to design a one story addition to our home in order to expand our kitchen and dining area. We also added a mudroom off the garage and a front porch. The design process was very smooth. They listened to our ideas and came up with three different options, some of which we never thought of. They showed us the options in 3D. It was easy to follow. Once we picked what we liked they refined it and got us the permit. They also helped us with picking a contractor and checking the bids. We highly recommend them. They have great customer service.

We remodeled and expanded the upstairs of our house, along with replacing all the windows, replacing the vinyl siding with Hardie plank siding, and adding a bedroom to the basement. We chose AXIS Design Build as our architect and were very happy with their work. They were professional, listened to our needs and wants, and made many great suggestions during the design process. The newly designed upstairs has a great flow -- in fact, you cannot tell where the remodeled section begins. The outside of the house is beautiful. They paid close attention to small details like placement of windows and window trim, along with making sure our new rooms upstairs are exactly what we wanted. We would definitely hire AXIS Design Build again.
