NOVEMBER 2020 UPDATE: This project has yet to be completed and it is now estimated for completion in Spring 2021. The delays are a reflection of the indecisions, difficulty and inconsistencies of this client which are being reflected in the immense delays of this project now 2+ years in the works.

JULY 2020: We greatly welcome and appreciate all feedback because in our firm we feel that this is how we improve and grow. We are saddened to say that working with this client was a very distasteful and unpleasant situation and that at the end we had no other choice but to dismiss the client. We worked with this client for over 5 months incurring a total of 193.33 hours of design, sourcing, site meetings, contractor meetings, showrooms visits for selections, emails, texts, video conferences, calls. The client had been working with a GC since September 2019 and the project unfortunately had not progress due to the client's constant indecisions. In addition, as we neared our separation, and we advised other contractors working on the project that we were removing ourselves from the project, it was brought to our attention that we were now the 3rd design firm involved in this project. A huge red flag that we would have been able to forecast should the client share this information with us at the conception of our interaction.

RSZ has a 5 star record because we go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that we are creating spaces our clients love to live in but that we are also providing clients with 100% customer satisfaction. We even go as far as educating our clients in the process of remodeling and design so that they make informed decisions along the way. With this client unfortunately, our process did not work, and instead of continuing to provide a service that would have been a disservice regardless of what we did, or instead of continuing to pursue a negative experience, we chose to remove ourselves from the situation and allow the client to pursue someone else that would better fit her needs. We of course billed the client for the 193.33 hours that we incurred in the project and the client received all the spec sheets with selections, renderings (54 renderings) for the rooms discussed : basement, master bathroom, family room, powder bathroom 1st floor, laundry room, basement bathroom. We had created 9 custom pieces for this client, all designs which upon receipt of payment, we provided the client with. In addition, because of the extensive amount of time our carpenter spent with us designing all the pieces for this home, we, RSZ Interiors paid the carpenter for his time out of the hours that we billed as a courtesy because we felt awful for him to be removed from this project due to the circumstances at hand.

At RSZ we do not expect for all of our clients to know the process of design and construction; however, we expect our clients to treat our time, efforts and the time and efforts of our valuable contractors with consideration and respect. At our separation the client stated that all she wanted was help with selection of colors and paints; however, we spent 193.33 hours designing, rendering and sourcing the materials and finishes for this 500K+ job. Her statement was an insult to our trade and a dismissal to the time it takes to create and execute the vision of a well designed project.

We have learned greatly from this experience, as we do from all experiences and our biggest disappointment was not being able to execute the FABULOUS concept that we created for this client. Regardless, we wish her nothing but success. BTW, we are NOT decorators Mrs. Bowen, we are designers. Check out our concept in the images below.

Working this project for RSZ Interiors was pure delight. Randall, Sue and Jump were welcoming, insightful and great to work with. It makes our lives and abilities so much easier and creative when a client knows what they want and has no qualms in expressing their wishes.

We love it when clients become friends, and we fall in love with them as we have with Sue. We love it when our clients invite us into their homes, and allow us to guide them with creating spaces they love to live in! for the years to come.

Working with Elbee Emagery throughout the past 10 years has been phenomenal. She has allowed us to use our creativity to showcase it in the wonderful photos she takes of our projects, events and of us. She is a great listener and allows us to dream creatively but then nice and professionally brings us back to reality yet somehow always giving us exactly what we planned and imagine anyway. Every interaction is a successful venture and we LOVE collaborating with Elbee Emagery.

It was OUR pleasure to work with the two of you. You have a lovely family and we appreciated your trust and your clear communication about your vision throughout the entire process. Not only was this project AHHHMMMAAAZING! but to work with clients who LOVE the process, understand its complexities and respect the fact that there is no construction without destruction was icing on the cake for us. Our synergy with each other, with the process, with the project, with the final vision was ONE. We laughed and had fun together. We dealt with the hiccups of schedules and construction as a unified TEAM, we communicated openly and respectfully. We are so thankful for having met Sandy in 2017. The home that we staged for her sold within 45 days of being staged. It was our pleasure to try our best to work with her on the scheduling changes, and we are so glad that our vision for this home allowed Sandy Jones Realty to put a SOLD sign on it almost immediately.
