I built a garden home with Roland Builders in 2017 which has been nothing but problems since the beginning. A few weeks after moving in laundry sink hot water connecter came off during the night flooding basement, destroying cabinets, hardwood floors, etc. Took months for repairs. Almost every screw in drywall popped out after 1 year and wood trim cracked. Endless issues from poor workmanship and cheap materials.

We hired Roland Builder for a rather large remodeling project to our home: a new composite deck, new central air, kitchen additions, windows replacement, and a complete overhaul of the upstairs bathroom. Roland Builder’s prices were the highest of seven estimates we received, but we went with Roland because of its long and good reputation for honesty and quality work. We were pleased and displeased with the final product; both satisfaction and dissatisfaction had to do with the persons in charge of the projects and project manager. The deck was built by a person who has ample experience in framing and building churches. This resulted in a beautiful deck. The work in the kitchen and windows was performed by a person who knew what he was doing and both the rough work and finishing touches were immaculate. The new central air was not done properly or, rather, the calculations were not correct, thus only half the house is cooled. But this was not Roland’s ‘entire’ fault, as they subcontracted a company to do this. Now, the bathroom remodel, into which a very large portion of our money went, is quite a DIFFERENT story. All the work was done by the church builder who did the deck, thus, the framing of the walls, and the-prep work for the new floors, is very solid. The tiling and the installation of furniture and shower stall, however, is substandard work. We chose large, Italian ceramic tiles which, because of their size, we expected some challenges since some tend to slightly bend when fired, but most were absolutely straight. Yet, on the wall, they are all uneven; no matter where one looks, in areas where the full length of the ceramic was used and in areas that are just 2 inches by 4 inches; the gaps between them, are all of different width, as if spacers were not used. In the wall where the vanity sits, with a large sink, the tiles are entirely off-centered. The tiles on the side where the shower door closes, are so out of plumb that water filters through; on all walls tiles are completely off-centered and some are even chipped. The work was completed in August 2020; I thought I would grow to accept the way the bathroom looks, yet every time, I feel like crying. The most disappointing part is that they did not take responsibility. We still have several other large projects to complete; would we hire Roland Builder again? We’ll have to carefully think it over.

In 2018, I worked with Roland Builder, Inc. to build a Garden Home. This is the second custom home I built and I felt my experience with Roland exceeded my prior home build with another custom builder in my area. From the initial planning to the final walkthrough, the Roland team was professional, resourceful, and receptive to my home building needs. For me, the single story garden home design was exactly what I was looking for. However, I needed to add a second floor for my son. Roland inquired about our needs then modified the floor plan to design the perfect house for us. They even named the new floor plan after my son which was an unexpected surprise that is priceless to us. Roland is a one of kind builder! They use the same sales agent, designers, project manager, and contractors to build each and every home regardless of the price. Using this model, their focus is on quality and not quantity home building. As the customer, that model is a huge benefit. All of the Roland staff and contractors were top notch and took pride in their work to deliver a final product that exceeded my expectations. I would absolutely recommend building with Roland. If ever need to build another home in central Pennsylvania, there is no doubt it will be another Roland home.

Working with Brent Roland and his team was a very positive building experience. This was our 3rd new home and the least stressful of all. Every change we requested during the design phase, Brent's reply was either no problem or yes, we can do that. Sherri was a joy to work with in the final design and picking out finishing touches. She truly took the time to listen to us and put our thoughts into the final product. Once ground was broken and Kyle took over the construction phase, he was always available to answer questions and responsive to every little request we made.

We just moved into our new home built by Roland Builder Inc. We couldn't be happier! Brent was very open to our wants and was able to give excellent feed back. It was very helpful to visit the Parade of Homes and the Garden Homes to see exactly what we were purchasing. Roland was able to provide all of the custom changes we asked for, they truly want to make you happy. The quality of work is definitely more of a craftsman level than the other homes we previewed. The stone masons, tiling, trim work, concrete work all of it is beautiful. Kyle the site manager would return my texts whether it was late into the evenings or on the weekend. Everyone involved with the company from the ladies in the office to the workers on site were professional and extremely helpful. I would recommend Roland without hesitation.

Roland Builder had built our house several years ago and did an excellent job customizing our house. Our family spends a lot of time outside and we wanted to add a roof to our porch area. Roland Builder was able to come in and have our porch covered in two days. The workmanship their team did well exceeded our expectations. This project went extremely smooth due to their project manager Kyle. Kyle ensured every detail was done correctly. Very nice job Roland Team!!

We built our new home with Roland Builders last year. It was a wonderful experience to work with Brent and his team. He listened to our needs carefully from designing the home, until the completion of the building process. I admire the patience of Brent and his team. Our project manager Kyle was always available to answer any of our questions. All the workers were professional and maintained the highest building standards. We are very happy in our new home which is dream home to us and built to our satisfaction.

Roland Builders installed our under-decking with recessed lights and fans. They were extremely reliable, professional, and did an outstanding job on the project. The same can be said for our interaction with the project manager, Kyle. It was the best experience we have ever had with a contractor. We have gotten so many compliments on this outdoor space, and have enjoyed the extra area as a family. We would definitely use Roland Builders again for other projects we have.

Kyle and his crew did an outstanding job on our underdecking. We are looking forward to working with him again on our next project.

We’ve been in our custom home for nearly four years now and not once have we questioned our decision to build with Roland. As first-time home builders, Roland made the process stress-free and enjoyable for us while designing a home that met both our needs and our budget. From our initial contact with Brent (who also helped us design our home) to weekly, sometimes daily communication with Kyle throughout the build process, we had complete trust and confidence in the entire team. We have recommended Roland Builder to others and will continue to do so. Should we have the need to build again or for any future home renovations, we'll hire Roland without a doubt!
