Phyllis Harbinger, ASID, CID has been running Design Concepts/Interiors, LLC, her own design firm, since 1993, servicing both commercial and residential clients in the New York Metropolitan area. She is as comfortable working on a suburban residence as she is in a sleek, modern city apartment dwelling. In fact, the combination of commercial and residential projects, the variety of locales and clients' styles creates a spark that fuels her creativity. Phyllis is also a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner, which enables her to integrate Eastern methods and theories of design and balance into her practice. She is NCIDQ certified, a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, and now serving on the board as president. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. Currently the Award-winning firm has launched an exciting new book The Interior Design Productivity Toolbox, published by Wiley, which will streamline the processes and systems for Interior Designers, Students and the Design/Build community. The book is now available on Amazon.com, Wiley.com and bookstores as well! As a direct result of the success of the book, Phyllis has launched Harbinger Design Consulting, to further her work with Designers and the Design/Build Community, consulting with entrepreneurs and providing a unique set of tools with which they can grow and manage their firms. She is also available for speaking engagements on a wide variety of topics.

Phyllis Harbinger had been a friend and my designer for over 25 years. She is amazing. She listens to exactly what i wanted and worked within my " budget." She kept me on track when i wanted the impossible and everything came out amazing. She is a true professional.

Working with Phyllis and her team was an incredible experience! We initially hired Phyllis to redo 3 bathrooms, but as we were awed by her incredible talent and expertise, the job quickly grew to redoing two dens(his and hers) plus a basement transformation. Her exuberance and passion for what she does combined with her incredible skills transformed our condo from mundane to extraordinary!! It was incredible how well she listened to us and was able to translate what we wanted into some many stunning rooms! During the construction phase, always challenging, we learned that Phyllis and her team had successfully dealt with many problems before we were even made aware. We LOVE our home now. I will never make any decorating decisions without consulting Phyllis. We have had her back twice since the initial construction : to redo our kitchen and entrance way. She is a fabulously gifted designer who is a pleasure to work with!!

Phyllis and her team were EXCELLENT! Our NYC apartment was completely destroyed by a flood from the unit above us--the only thing we could salvage was our artwork--all furniture, walls, etc. had to be redone. We had used someone to do our interiors previously, but it never felt comfortable--it never felt like it was OUR home. A friend recommended Phyllis, and we decided to give her a try. It was the best move we made. She and her team really worked with us, making our apartment OUR home. She got to know us and understand how we used the space, what we liked, and what we didn't like! When she was done, we felt more at home than we ever did before the flood--and she worked within our budget, something the previous designer didn't seem to be able to do. I would highly recommend Phyllis and Design Concepts.

I have used Design Concepts/Interiors on two different occasions. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about all the trends and products available to the customer. The staff is precise and very professional. I truly had to great experiences with this company and I would highly recommend others to use them. The quality of work is the best I have ever experienced. Both jobs came out fantastic and I'm sure I'll be using Design Concepts/Interiors again.

I have been working with Phyllis and her team for over a year now and I couldn't be more impressed by their ability to design a beautiful project. I own a design build general contracting firm and have worked with quite a few designers. Hands down, Phyllis and her team have an in depth knowledge of construction which made renovating four bathrooms go seamlessly. We were provided with CAD drawings of each bathroom to ensure all details were ironed out prior to demo. Our project together was a success and it resulted in a homeowner that couldn't be happier with the finished product. I highly recommend Design Concept Interiors. I have engaged Phyllis and her team on a project that involves ripping a house down and building a new 6,000sqft home.
