Kate Lovejoy Interiors

We appointed Kate to complete an interior design overhaul of our house, including a new extension section. From the first professional engagement, where Kate ascertained what our tastes were and colour preferences, to the bespoke joinery and the final finishes we were very pleased with the whole process and outcome. We would recomend people work with Kate if you want someone who takes a professional approach to design, with clear structure and a great eye for design.

We cannot recommend Kate enough! We worked with Kate on the design of our new build home in Berkshire. She was an absolute pleasure to work with from beginning to end as well as being extremely talented. Kate has an incredibly natural flair for colour, texture and for seeing the bigger picture. She built a coherent scheme which had common themes throughout the house rather than just a series of unconnected rooms. She struck a brilliant balance between listening to our instructions and also encouraging us to take risks and be bold. Kate also disproved some of our fears that interior designers only suggest really glamorous expensive items of furniture or soft furnishings: she listened to what we wanted, which was a beautiful, colourful but practical and child-friendly family home and she suggested items to buy accordingly - whilst we spent a bit more on our "investment pieces" such as our main sofa, we also have plenty of items that Kate suggested from the likes of Ikea and Etsy. She's also super easy to work with and very organised - she kept track of the project, introduced us to and managed contractors, worked super hard and delivered everything when we wanted. Give Kate a call - you will not be disappointed!

We worked with Kate for the second time, this time remotely for our holiday home in Dorset. Kate gave excellent instructions for the measurements, floor plans and photos she would need and then provided online mood boards for each room, including the overall colour scheme and suggested furniture and layouts. From the kitchen makeover and exact paint instructions throughout, she was even across all the detail from light switches to houseplant accessories. A top to bottom service and an amazing result, thank you, Kate!

We really enjoyed working with Kate and found the whole process very collaborative from start to finish. We love her eye for colour and the way she interpreted our not entirely mainstream ideas to come up with workable solutions. She listened carefully to what we wanted and translated it very pragmatically. In particular she gave great input into our ideas for the design of our rugs and ensured we ended up with what we had envisaged. Kate also has a great address book of suppliers covering not only bespoke rugs but also sofa makers, curtain and blind makers, decorators, upholsterers and carpenters. She is good to work with – efficient, punctual and keeping us updated on progress. Kate turned something that we viewed as a bit of a chore into a process we really enjoyed and we look forward to working with her again in future.

We have always done our own design projects in the past, having an eclectic style and enjoying the process, but raising a family has meant we have limited free time these days and so wanted to work with a designer who could both incorporate our existing pieces and taste, as well as open up the space we have and source new, interesting furniture. Kate has given our living space the four defined areas we hoped for and found amazing complementary pieces in our exact taste and style. We will definitely use her for our next project!

All materials arrived on time and Kate was always available when I needed her. Kate's ability to put a vision into reality is spectacular. Her eye for detail and imagination when putting together a theme has wowed us. Kate puts so much effort into her projects and designs, something you can see with the amazing final results. We really enjoyed working with her, she listened and helped us with every step. Kate helped us with the design of our new kitchen/living area and study. She was very easy to work with and created a beautiful colour scheme for both rooms which we love. She also sourced some gorgeous furniture, lighting and soft furnishings for us which we would never have found on our own! We are delighted with the finished result.

Kate transformed a room that I hated with a passion into a room that I love with even more passion! It really is my favourite room in the house now - such a shame I have to share it with the rest of the family. I really had no idea where to start, or how to make the room look good whilst still being functional. Kate was able to guide me towards colours and styles that worked - and that I liked- and was able to pull it all together into a cohesive beautiful room. She had so many ideas, such an eye for detail, an unerring knack of making things work, an instinct for tracking objects down that she knew would work - I could go on forever! I would love for her to do the rest of the house, and I trust in her ability and innate understanding of what 'our style' is that I'd be happy for her to do it with minimal input from me!
