Suzanne Morrison of Joyful Surroundings Interior Designed helped me decorate my office for my 60th birthday party. This was a very special occasion for me and I wanted to make sure everything was done right. Suzanne and her assistant Mimi had a preliminary meeting with me at my office to understand my expectations. She also provided very useful suggestions, both at the initial meeting and along the way. Suzanne was respectful of both my taste, preferences, and budget. She purchased table ware, plates, napkins and utensils, as well as decorations. She gave me suggestions on items to bring from home to create ambiance while saving some money. She and Mimi moved furniture around to create "vignettes". I was very pleased with the final work and I received compliments from my guests.

15 years ago we bought the beautiful, fully upgraded model home of an exclusive development. 2 boys and 15 years later, it was no longer the current, upgraded, prestine home that “awed” people who walked through the door the first time. We needed a “home rescue”! I had no idea what to do or how to do it. That’s why we bought the professionally designed/decorated model instead of doing it ourselves! Through research on the internet and referrals, we found “Joyful Surroundings” better yet, we found Suzanne! At first I was hesitant to have a stranger come into my home and pick it apart. It was not like that whatsoever. After the first phone conversation I knew she was “the one”. She made me feel so comfortable and confident that she completely understood what I wished to do and how to do it. She had recommendations and ideas before she even saw my home by interpreting what I had explained. I knew she was listening. That’s what sold me immediately. Now, it was time to start on what seemed to me, a massive project and a big chore. Suzanne made this the easiest, most successful, and on budget experience I have had with an outside service. In all my years of hiring vendors and services for my home and business, she surpassed all of them! She came up with ideas I would have never imagined. And she also spotted problems before they happened which saved us a ton of money. I like that! The finished upgrade/remodeling of my 15 year old model home is more than I could have expected. My home is no longer that “15 year old model home”. It’s a new home that could easily be brought to market as a brand new, up to date, beautiful yet cozy and homey, house that anyone would aspire to have. Flooring throughout the house, new color palette for entire home, upgraded kitchen cabinets, window covering to match, boys playroom remodel was big, downstairs bathroom and front porch/entrance way, a few new strategic furniture placements, formal dining room pictures/decorations, way made our home new again! And we have Suzanne to thank. She made it all happen. I highly recommend Suzanne to anyone who needs any type of home or decorating service.

Suzanne owner of Joyful Surroundings, we hired to be our designer when we bought our new home. She listens and finds out who you are and what you want the feel and look of your home to be. She is enthusiastic, fun and tenacious in finding the colors and styles that are pleasing to you. She also accepts feedback and will hang in there with you, until she knows you are satisfied and completely happy with the results. I highly recommend Suzanne, she is very creative and makes the process fun.

I first met with and used Suzanne's services when we moved to Petaluma and we had her redesign and redecorate our living, dining and family rooms. She took great care in getting to know my husband and my likes and dislikes and expertly created spaces that melded our color, design, and style preferences - taking into account that we had young children who would be using the spaces as well. As an individual real estate investor, I exclusively used Suzanne's services when designing new projects and then had her stage them when ready for resale. There is no question that my properties sold quicker as a result of her efforts. Suzanne is not only immensely talented, but she is incredibly fun to work with! I have recommended her to many others and they have not been disappointed.

Suzanne is Amazing! She has helped me with so much. She completely changed the color of my bedroom and helped me decorate it after a remodel, changed the color of the bathroom to flow better. Consulted with me for colors in the family room and made design changes. Completely designed our remodeled guest bath - It is fabulous! Then the big project was turning our granny unit into a vacation rental - WOW! She is amazing. She used the color inspiration from just 1 chair and transformed the entire cottage. Suzanne is a joy to work with! She is kind, thoughtful and made my house look so comfortable and warm by moving things around, adding a piece here and there and picking colors that are soothing. I brought Suzanne in to help redecorate after a major kitchen renovation. I had furniture of my own as well as pieces from my mother who had recently passed away. She was able to go through all of the items and decorate and arrange in a wonderfully functional manner. I never would have considered arranging the furniture that way she did and I love it. She was able to utilize the art pieces in a way that showed them off and they fit very well in the area. She helped to purge and clean out old non-useable items. She has a great since of style and design and is able to visualize a space for form, function and beauty.

Suzanne is awesome! She has a great eye and has helped me several times! She is worth it and she is fairly priced!

Suzanne has a great eye for interior design! She is is friendly and fun to work with and at the same time very professional. We hired her to rearrange our existing furniture so that it flowed better in the space. She came into our home and gave suggestions on what would look better in our kitchen, dining and living areas. The whole process only took about half a day and the results were amazing! We love our new flow and we use our rooms so much more now (before we hardly ever used our dining room and we would always be crammed into a small living room). We also hired Suzanne on a separate occasion when we were remodeling our kitchen. We had her come in to give us her opinion on the project and help us pick out a paint color for our cabinets. She was very helpful in this process and made me feel more assured that we were picking a color that we would love. Sure enough, the cabinets turned out beautiful and we are very happy with them! I would recommend Suzanne (and already have) to all of my friends!
