Highline Construction

We feel fortunate to have had Highline Construction redesign and renovate our ailing 1931 house. We chose them after consulting with architects and contractors, and canvasing friends and neighbors. Highline was often recommended. The project was long (11 months) and Covid suppy issues added to the expense, but Highline kept us fully informed and involved on issues (substandard original house construction), recommendations, and cost-reducing ideas and materials, with regular meetings and weekly and sometimes daily progress reports. The supervisors and construction crews were skilled, meticulous and reliable. The subcontractors were equally professional for the most part. Covid did put a strain on personnel and materials. Inevitable cost and timeline increases were anticipated, explained and mitigated when possible. The end result: A beautifully designed and executed renovation that added 350 square feet of space; rearrangement of rooms providing comfortable one-floor living; enlarged kitchen, bath and laundry; beautiful oak flooring, 27 high-efficiency windows; greatly improved infrastructure including wall integrity and insulation, foundation and joist reinforcement; and preservation of the vintage details and materials. Most important to our satisfaction were Highline’s dedication to accommodating our needs and preferences, and their clear, honest communication through the entire project.

Trevor and his team at Highline went above and beyond. They built us our absolute dream home at the budget we agreed on and the time frame they promised. We have been through other not so great constructions before, and I can honestly say this one was a pleasurable experience. Trevor was available when we needed him and his team was very dependable. Even months after when we realized little things here and there that needed tweaking or fixing, someone was out here quickly to get it done. Bottom line, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a team!

Highline Construction was transparent, clear and concise from the beginning. Their work quality and commitment to my new home was second to none. The, full-service professional team at Highline was helpful in every detail from the construction schedule to selecting the interior and exterior finishes.

We used Highline construction for a remodel of the main floor of our home. It was a complete remodel of 1450 square feet that included a full new kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, removal of a wood burning fireplace and installation of a gas fireplace in a different location, and generally reconfiguring the whole layout of the space. Highline came recommended to us from our architect. Trevor and his team worked hard to get an accurate plan for the whole project at the start, and once the project started they were able to to stick very close to that plan. We were lucky to not encounter any major issues when they tore into the walls and we finished almost exactly on time and on budget. We found them to be easy to work with throughout the project, when we knew exactly what we wanted they found a way to make it happen and when we weren't so sure how we wanted to handle a particular detail they helped come up with a solution that worked for us. They were easy to communicate with throughout the project and very responsive to any concerns we had along the way. We lived downstairs during the renovation, and every worker was respectful of us living downstairs during the process. Our finished home is beautiful and just what we wanted. We had a great experience using Highline Construction and highly recommend them for your project.

We discovered Highline Construction through a recommendation from our architect and chose the right builder for our project. Trevor and team produced a quality product and kept our project within budget. With a small contingency fund, substantial overages were not an option for us and Highline really managed to keep the project scope within our budget without skimping on the details. For example, they included cedar siding on our project while other contractors recommended Hardie to save money. And they were able to include solid wood doors and floors to keep with our period house. The project added about 500 sq/ft to the back of a 1000 sq/ft craftsman from 1912. The design and execution make the house look like a cohesive whole, not a new addition onto an old house. Highline does outstanding work and we highly recommend them!

Highline Construction is awesome! I hired them to do a very complex exterior siding job in a combination of corrugated metal and vertical tongue and groove cedar on a 4000 sf house and separate garage. They did an outstanding, meticulous job. Everyone on the crew was very skilled, professional, and friendly. Both Highline management and their on-site crew were knowledgeable, focused, and communicated effectively throughout the project with honesty and integrity. They were a total pleasure to deal with in every regard. I couldn't be happier with their workmanship and highly recommend Highline Construction!

Trevor, Greg, Corey, and team have built a beautiful, quality home for us on budget, on schedule and with minimal supervision from us. We could not be more satisfied. Once we agreed on specifications and budget, our work was largely over and they delivered as promised with outstanding communications, clarity and transparency. These are good people, people you want to work with, and people who take pride in their work. You will not find a better contractor group.

Highline Construction was hired by my commercial management company. I couldn't be happier! They always show up. They always do great work. They always respond with any questions ASAP. They always take care of you when you need it. I have recommended them to everyone since. Hands down best place in Bellingham. And you can always buy materials cheaper there than Home Depot from their show room! Love them.

Trevor, Greg, and other crew at Highline performed major repairs on my property in Bellingham after a fire. Dealing with Highline was one of the few positive experiences I had in the chaotic process of a fire repair. They were helpful, communicative, and understanding while I navigated a very long and arduous process with my insurance company. Greg got very little input from me on interior details, but he took the lead on choosing a matching set of interior components for my rental property, freeing me up to deal with other matters. The end result looks fantastic. The combination of being able to find creative solutions to tough repair problems on a 100+ year-old home, the quality of the work they did, and the promptness and professionalism of everyone on the team is not something you can get just anywhere. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for construction or remodeling in the Bellingham area.

Highland Construction did a beautiful remodel in our 1940s home. They remodeled a hall bath and did much better larger second project. The built and Master suite including rearranging an inefficient space into an amazingly beautiful master bath, huge closets and laundry area. Their talented designers and craftsman met all the challenges that one finds in an older home with modern and high quality design, products and first class woodwork. Each member of the team treated us as if we were their only client. Their estimates were spot on and they worked with us patiently, proving various options when potential changes came up. First class operation all the way around. Would hire them again in a heartbeat.

My experience as an architect working with Trevor has always been very positive. He treats everyone with respect, is a good communicator, and has a sincere interest in the well being of his clients and successfully executing every project. He is constantly looking for ways to provide more and better service for his clients.

We entered our remodel with trepidation. We didn't know where to begin or which company to trust. We were extremely fortunate to find Highline Construction. Highline understood our needs and budget. All the subcontractors that entered our home were professional, prompt and thorough workers. Highline answered all our questions and made suggestions when we needed them.
