Scott Payne is one of our favorite architects and we work with him frequently on projects supplying Marvin Windows and Doors, Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, Artistic Tile, Walker Zanger, Solatubes and Phantom Screens. He has been fabulous to work with and we are always proud to work with and be associated with an architect of his caliber. He is very innovative and always seeks craftsmanship and high quality products. We look forward to many years of working with him and feel honored that he chooses to work with us!

My husband and I have been so incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to work with Scott! We found an older home that we fell in love with, but it had been abandoned for years and was in great need of both structural and aesthetic updates. After visiting with Scott for just a few short minutes, we knew his creative gift, variety of experience and youthful energy was just what we needed to bring the house back to life. Our goal was to bring the house up to date yet preserve its classic elegance, and Scott understood that vision perfectly. He is an expert at blending form and function and was able to lay out a plan of changes to transform the home to meet our needs and desires. We are in the process of making his plans a reality and I cannot wait to see it all come together. Scott continues to hold our hand along the way and I cannot imagine doing any construction project in the future without him!

A year go, my wife and I met with Scott Payne to discuss replacing the roof of our 85 year old Georgian brick home. We have lived in the house for 25 years, and always wanted to address the roof, which was out of scale, with an attic height of 5.5 feet, limiting its use. Scott asked us multiple questions regarding our preferences and how we intended to use the new third floor. A few weeks later he brought a board of photographs showing multiple finishes, and materials, and a large scale photograph of the house with a new roof in cedar shakes, which was our first choice. The process and discussions continued, until a new slate roof was selected. Scott recommended a builder he had worked with, and the two of them worked on detailed estimates of cost. Scott has extensive supervising construction, which was invaluable as this project involved completely removing an existing attic and roof, and building a third floor with multiple uses, including storage and office space. There were multiple discussions regarding material and finishes, with an emphasis on quality. We could not be more pleased with Scot, the architect, the process and the end product. Scott did an excellent job turning the ideas I had for our small ranch house into reality. Scott used the pictures and general ideas I gave him as his starting point and then added to; refined; and adjusted them to complete the vision I had for the ranch house. The finished house exceeded my expectations. His design utilizes large timber beams, exposed beaded ceilings (inside and out) and an exterior combination of board and batten cedar and austin stone to create a rustic feel that compliments the surroundings of the ranch. With ample light coming in from the wood framed Pella windows and a large austin stone fireplace, the house feels warm and comforting in the winter. On warm days (which we have many of in central Texas) the large porch wrapping around the house, with its exposed timbers and stonework is a great place to enjoy a solitary moment or a good visit with friend and family.

Scott has worked with us for about a year planning our new lake house, and he has been wonderful. He has stayed on task, and worked quickly to incorporate the changes we have agreed upon.

Scott Payne is a very creative and knowledgeable architect. He works within your budget, but will also give you options to expand or reduce your project. We found him very flexible to our ideas, and incorporated our thoughts into the design process. He made trips to our lot to get a feel for the house we wanted on the lake. He made sure our lot and home where in harmony with one another. By that I mean, he took full advantage of our lot being on a lake by designing huge "lake facing" windows that we now enjoy so much! He worked well with our builder, and always had a friendly, professional manner. We couldn't be happier with our architect and our new home!

My home which was built in the 1930s needed an update. It had undergone a few renovations over the years by previous homeowners. One had applied vinyl siding. Scott was able to maintain the character of the home while bringing it into the new millennium. Vinyl siding was removed exposing beautiful woodwork. In addition an outdoor kitchen and other improvements to the exterior enhanced the curb appeal and value of our home as well as its enjoyment. Scott's attention to detail and cognizance of costs proved to save us money in the long run. We have absolutely fallen in love with our home and Scott. I recommend him highly. I remain a very happy client.

We are absolutely thrilled with the job Scott Payne has done for us and would recommend Scott to our friends and family. Our project is a somewhat complicated one, being a combination renovation of an existing home of approximately 2000 square feet combined with the building of a new home addition of approximately 2400 square feet which is incorporated into one new home. From the beginning of the project, Scott has always exhibited his possession of vision. This allows him to see into the realm of possibility. He then communicates his ideas effectively and efficiently utilizing strong visual, verbal and written skills. We are very thankful that we have had Scott to rely on.
