Eckxstudio for Modern Architecture

We hired Eckxstudio to design our single-story MCM style home in Texas on a large lot that presented several challenges. These challenges included a busy street, saving existing trees, and a "no stairs" requirement on a sloped lot while maximizing the lake view. Not only did Dan, the principal at Eckxstudio, design a beautiful home that was exactly what we wanted, he was involved in every step of our journey. He was our agent with the city when we subdivided our land parcel. He was prepared for every meeting, listened well and took meticulous notes. He worked very well with our builder, our framer, and even a difficult neighbor. He was pro-active in inspecting progress. He continued to be accessible to the finish, inspecting and creating the punch list. Dan's positive attitude and ability to "work well with others" was a key factor in the formation of our opinion that we had assembled an excellent project team. Dan is Eckxstudio, and his goal was to design exactly what we wanted, using his visual talent, architectural skill and experience to make certain the house was both beautiful and functional for the way we live. As a couple, we enjoyed seeking out interior finishes (mostly tile) and sourcing the lighting, but we relied upon Dan to keep us from making a mis-step that might sabotage the desired overall result. He was incredibly helpful. We love the house and it quickly became our home. We consider ourselves fortunate that we found Eckxstudio. We highly recommend!

Dan was exceptional to work with. We completed a second story additional and renovation under his very watchful eye. He was attentive to every detail from initial brainstorming to final punch list. We had some challenges in bringing the old space and new space together and he did an exceptional job of problem solving and bringing creative solutions. After working with him for 11+ months, he now feels like part of the family. He made what can be a scary and stressful experience into something rewarding and fun.

We worked with Dan on an extensive remodel of our home. Dan was a great partner and his role extended beyond architect. He is a great listener, and as a result, his design aligned with our sensibilities perfectly. We used his detailed design documents to get accurate bids and hold our contractors to the exacting design. Beyond the architectural detail, he was also instrumental in helping us choose designs including colors, tile and even artwork. We utilized him as a project manager during construction and he did a phenomenal job, ensuring the build stayed true to the design. He made regular site visits to check status. His passion and commitment to the project was akin to the homeowner and we unequivocally recommend all of his services.

I have now built 4 custom homes for myself, and I have to say that hands down Dan is the best Architect I have worked with. He has truly listened to me, the client, from the beginning stages and offered me a design that matches my dreams. Along with his amazing ideas on design, Dan has an attention to detail that adds so much value to the entire project. Dan has worked closely with me and my builder, inspecting the project throughout and providing my builder critical information regarding concerns or roadblocks we have run into. He has been able to work with my builder to keep the design in mind, as we resolve changes to the plans out of our control. I have truly enjoyed working with Fifth Dimension Design and will definitely use them again, as well as refer to them to the pickiest of my friends and colleagues.

We worked with Dan on two different occasions where he designed and built furniture and a modern outdoor pagoda for us. Both projects were exactly what we wanted and everything was perfect. We recently worked with Dan Eckelkamp to remodel and renovate our newly-purchased home.
