Based in the Dallas Area, our practice creates original designs that address the unique needs and budget of each client. DONOVAN LORD is a fine home design, remodeling, and interior design company. We are a unique collaboration of an M.Arch (Master of Architecture), Interior Designers and Craftsmen who integrate home design, interiors, and construction to create incredible spaces with timeless livability. We reached out to Donovan to assist with a large residential home renovation project which involved removing walls and new finishes. He provided architectural plans, renderings, and specifications for the tile, lighting, paint colors, etc. He was very quick to provide such a large set of plans and specs, and we were blown away by the overall design he provided. We absolutely LOVE the bathrooms he came up with, they’re gorgeous, and many people have commented on how great they look. Thank you Donovan!

Donovan provided the plans for a complicated three-level tiny guest house we are building. He was awesome to work with, ironed out some practical mistakes I made with the space, had some great input about configurations and was patient and helpful at every turn. We have never done a ground-up project like this before, and he made what is an inherently painful experience (working with the city as well as all the moving parts) much less painful where his input was concerned. I definitely recommend him to anyone who needs quality, thorough and fast work.

I have been using Edict Inc for the interior design and remodeling of my condo including bathrooms and kitchen. Donovan has a brilliant vision and is on point. His renderings have been amazing as well as unique. He is quite adept at what I asked him for- modern/contemporary. He stays up to date and sometimes even ahead of the current trends. He tends to be busy (for a good reason) yet he finds the time to answer my myriad questions within a reasonable amount of time. Overall, Edict Inc is a fantastic company to work with if you like modern/contemporary stuff both in terms of the design as well as customer service!

Edict Inc and Donovan Lord helped us remodel our kitchen and plan and design 2 rooms and a bathroom additions. We were very happy with the design and service provided by Donovan Lord. I would use their services again.

I recently partnered with Edict on a large bathroom remodel. Donovan was fantastic to work with! He is an extremely talented designer, his attitude is upbeat and professional, and he works very hard to keep his clients happy. As a sub-contractor, I really appreciated the systems and processes he utilizes to ensure good communication and to keep the project moving forward quickly. I can't recommend him highly enough!

This truly is a top-notch design firm.We purchased a large secluded wooded lot in the Bluffview area of Dallas and we hired Edict to design and construct the home. Finding a modern designer and contractor that understood the difference between modern and traditional construction was not easy so when I found Edict I knew it was the right company. I was expecting it to be a huge headache like my previous homes but due to Edict's attention to detail and excellent communication, it turned out to be a much less-stressful process than I could have imagined. Not only did Donovan come up with fresh ideas for maximizing and adorning the space, he tailored each and every room to fit my family's particular needs and, after only a few meetings with us, he seemed to know what we needed from the space better than we did! They provided us with a level of service that far surpassed what I had come to expect from interior designers/architects, and they actually ended up managing the entire project from conception to completion, freeing me up to focus on my family and other obligations, instead of spending all my time holding my contractors hand. My project was finished within my time frame and within my budget constraints, and that is in no small part thanks to their superb project management. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone needing assistance with a large or small scale renovation and everyone says “WOW” when they see my home. I’m very satisfied!

As a lawyer, I am in the service business and am always really excited when I meet other professionals who really understand first class service and think of ways of saving their clients money. Let me just say this upfront: - I am highly highly impressed with Donovan Lord and his firm, Edict. I found Edict through the Web and talked to Donovan through emails and then phone calls. I have found Donovan to be very thorough, personable, direct, and responsive and he has a great ability to think outside the box for projects. He was able to customize a job that required research and thinking into a great design for me and my wife. I have recommended him to others in my neighborhood and I believe they are finding the same great service. Furthermore, I have found his billing for services rendered very fair and reasonable. What else can I say? If you need architectural services, I would really recommend Edict and Donovan.

Donovan designed our new construction home in Dallas from the ground up. He made sure that both the exterior architecture and interior design were both harmonious and in sync with our family's lifestyle. The construction went very smoothly and we were able to deal directly with Edict on any issues that were quickly rectified which was great because we didn't have to deal with the architect and contractors separately. Our house turned out great and we love living in it and plan to stay here forever! If we ever leave we know it will sell for a great deal because we used edict to find our land, build our house and to do the construction and interior design. Donovan was very easy to work with and very patient and didn't force his opinions on us as some previous designers we had worked with had in the past. We highly recommend Edict!

Edict provided us with three outstanding designs to update our 12 year old home (Master Bath, Kitchen, and Back Yard). We have since completed the Kitchen construction and couldn't be happier. Our friends and family love the new modern look and materials. We are planning on doing the bathroom next.
