Since 1986, Deborah Goddard Interior Architecture has designed classic and enduring interiors for residential and small business owners. Her interiors have been featured in the Chicago Tribune Home Section for her work with various clients. After earning her Interior Architecture Degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago she joined the prestigious Interior Architecture firm of Powell/Kleinschmidt of Chicago where she was published in Interior Design Magazine. Deborah has been a freelance designer since 1986 and her work has encompassed a wide range of styles from city lofts and brownstones to upscale suburban homes. Deborah’s Commitment to You We consider all aspects of your lifestyle, design preferences and functional needs to create a classic and timeless home or office environment. Your home is a representation of who you are and I will always consider my client’s needs and personality when creating a design. My services range from the conceptual layout to any finishing touches needed to complete the overall design. We will embrace your wish, taste and lifestyles and together we create the home you’ve always wanted. Your home is a representation of who you are, not who your designer is. It must be attractive, functional and comfortable, but most importantly reflect your personality. We consider that each client has different needs, vision and budget for a design project. We can design, decorate and make recommendation for your entire house, floor, apartment or only individual room.

If I could give Deborah more than 5 stars I definitely would. Deborah helped with my total kitchen renovation. She was there from beginning sketches to final backsplash selection. She listened to my ideas and added her own in too. Deborah traveled with me to pick out cabinets, granite and lighting. She also was expert at color coordination. Deborah responded almost immediately to all my questions. I couldn’t have done it without her.

We had an AWESOME experience working with Deborah Goddard for our kitchen and master bath remodel! We had very little experience with home renovations and she was there to guide us through every stage of the project. She has excellent contacts with vendors in the area and was always one step ahead and kept the project moving at a good pace. She has mastered the balance of respecting her clients’ vision while still offering her professional input on design. We could not be happier with the way our remodel turned out and with the overall experience, thanks to Deb!

My wife and I have had the benefit of working with Deborah Goddard on four homes. We wouldn’t consider working with anyone else. She has built a huge following of repeat clients over the years. It is easy to understand the strong customer loyalty. She is an artist with great academic credentials. She has a degree in interior architecture from the Art Institute of Chicago. She works with clients to achieve their goals in decorating or changes to interior architectural design. Many of our friends have worked with Deborah and are as pleased and loyal as we are. Money spent on her professional services will be the best money you spend on a home renovation.

Deb Goddard is a wonderful interior designer. I bought a townhouse in Chicago that needed a lot of work. I told her I wanted it to be a “show house” and we have accomplished that. She has a wonderful eye for color, details, and fabrics. It was important to me to use furniture and accessories that I already owned and mix them with updated items. Deb understood. My home is beautiful!

Deb was wonderful and my apartment is beautiful. She handled everything throughout the process, from design to construction to furniture and finishing touches. Being self admittedly overwhelmed by the apartment renovation process, Deb was the best choice. She quickly intuited what I wanted and delicately walked me through the renovation, widdling down most choices to an either/or option. The process was so seamless and the end product was exactly what I envisioned in my head.

My husband and I are very happy with our complete kitchen remodel that Deb Goddard designed and project managed for us with the contractor. She is very talented and experienced. She helped us create a space that was exactly what we were hoping for and more. She was extremely easy to work, truly listened to what we wanted, mindful of our budget, and then she made it all happen. Walking into various stores, I could tell she is very well respected and whenever we changed direction a bit, she new exactly who to call to get it done. Remodeling projects are very stressful and overwhelming, but Deb helped us through every decision and every phase of the project. I can’t imagine going to anyone else, now that we’ve experienced the best!

Deborah was very mindful of working within our budget while providing clear guidance on what colors, finishes and patterns work together while providing an excellent design that is both very visually appealing and very functional. She has a very easy personality to work with and ensures even the smallest detail is attended to. I found this last part very helpful as this was the first time I remodeled a kitchen and that expert guidance was critical.

I have had the ultimate pleasure of working with Deborah on two of my homes, from the bottom up. She first assisted in making recommendations on the architectural designs. This was anything from window placement to room sizes. When the houses were in the framing stages, Deb did invaluable research on tile, plumbing and lighting fixtures, hard surfaces and so much more. This is an area where homeowners can make terrible mistakes. I know; I nearly did. And then it was time to really have some fun! I needed this very talented designer in making paint, furniture and its placement, and window treatment decisions. She designed innovative, gorgeous, drapery for a 6,500 sq ft home and then again when we downsized. Both houses have been featured in local magazines. I particularly appreciated Deb’s ability to think decisions over carefully, considering how all the moving parts would come together. She is an incredible talent and such a joy to work with. Deb will be a part of any projects we embark on in the future, even if it’s out of state!
