Darcy Bonner was born in Dallas, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Architecture & Masters from Tulane University in 1976 and his second Masters of Architecture from the University of Illinois in Chicago in 1980.
A recipient of the Young Architect Award from The American Institute of Architects, Bonner was also the winner of the International Chair Competition with his design for a Wearable Chair. His designs have been exhibited in multiple museums across the United States including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Smithsonian and the Walker Art Center.
Darcy opened his Architectural and Interior Design office in 1980 and began a furniture line, Mattaliano, in 1985 with showrooms in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Miami, and San Francisco. Mattaliano furnishings have been installed in multiple residential and commercial spaces including The Obama White House, Four Season Hotels, Wynn Las Vegas, Neiman Marcus, Ritz Carlton Residences and the Offices of Architectural Digest.
Named ninth in the top 100 Most Influential Designers in America and awarded Interior of the Year for Playboy Headquarters in New York and Chicago, Darcy Bonner continues to make an impact on modern architecture as interior architect and designer. His work can be found in major cities throughout the United States as well as internationally.
