My wife and I have worked with John and Kim for over a year on multiple projects. We could not recommend them more highly! They are beyond excellent in every way, from each aspect of the creative design process to seamless implementation of the project design, no matter how simple or complex. They are on the front lines of their industry, constantly expanding the frontier of the concept of 'landscape architecture' and the possibilities one can achieve. They are true visionaries, and they are an absolute pleasure to work with. They are extremely respectful and thoughtful, great listeners, and ask perfect questions. They appropriately give push back, but they also give-in/compromise at the right time as well. They are not show-offs (though they easily could be given how beautiful their work is!). They will think of the things you cannot, and they will take your ideas and put the 'puzzle pieces' together to create the most beautiful, elegant design you likely would not have imagined otherwise – this has been the case repeatedly on our property. Their proposals and ideas seem to be driven by the balanced and objective conversion of art, science, math, and history. John and Kim are effectively property whisperers...they are in tune with what makes sense for your home/property/family and what does not. If what you're looking to do costs $10k+ based on the personality of your property, they're going to show you why, and then work with you to reduce the cost as much as possible, in addition to proposing many other possible layouts with reduced costs. If what you're looking to do can be solved with a roll of duct tape, they're going to show you why (and still probably work with you to reduce the cost! :)) They absolutely will not propose to you the most expensive ideas (we went through two landscape architects before John and Kim, so we know this is a common practice in the industry). They take a much-welcomed holistic approach in working with you. They care deeply and are highly passionate about their work, their community, and even the history of their client's property (so much so they discovered our home's property was once the location of a 150-room hotel demolished in the early 1950s!). Their honesty, open communication, and not only willingness to but excitement to work with their clients’ ideas and visions is truly refreshing, and fun! We have repeatedly had perfect strangers stop at our house to comment on the landscape design. Our house is also frequently referred to by two of the distinct landscape architectural features they designed. And our neighbors are now working with Conte & Conte as well, because their work speaks for itself. Moreover, John and Kim have become good friends, and we anticipate working with them for years to come. Again, we could not recommend them enough!

John Conte is a gifted and visionary landscape architect. He took our tired, linear 1960's front yard and created a beautiful, sweeping line of stone walls, curving walkway, revitalized front porch, and a small stone garden room in the back of our home. The design elements gracefully integrated not just the front view of the house but part of the back yard, both of which are visible from the street. It has been 8 years since the redesign and we continue to enjoy the design and workmanship to this day. We began working with Kim and John in 2010 when they designed and completed a major renovation of our backyard. We have a relatively small lot for Greenwich, but their work has made our outdoor space (and views from the inside) a highlight of our home. They began by focusing on the plants and colors we love, the way we use our space, and then took our vision to a higher level. We worked through needed changes easily, and their staff were a pleasure to work with. It's now been almost four years since the project was completed, and the gardens just keep getting better. We've continued to work with John and Kim, and they've been wonderful with suggestions, replacements when needed, and even practical advice when a neighbor took down two of our large trees. It's a leap of faith to hire a landscaper, especially for large and expensive projects. But the professionals at Conte & Conte are talented, hard-working and trust-worthy. Provided creative concepts and architectural plans for landscape and hardscape for ten acre estate in Greenwich, CT. Designed tennis court with accessory structures, carriage house and motor court, entry driveways, bridges and courtyards and re-landscaped pond. All projects were designed to integrate with existing stone residence and related out buildings. Work was well supervised and completed on time and within budget parameters.
