Sidl Masonry Heating

Carl built our dream masonry heater in our new log home. He was very professional and easy to work with as he designed our stove and sent us options. We stayed on budget and he was flexible with completion as we had some delays in building We are very happy with the finished product as the heater performs beautifully. It is the centerpiece of our home and will provide us a place to gather around on cool days for years to come. The radiant heat can be felt for up to 24hrs after a burn making this traditional heater much more practical than a modern massless woodstove which loses its warmth within hours. Because of the thermal mass and multiple flue passes, this heater can burn hot making it a very low emission unit. We have no smoke coming from the stack within minutes of firing it. After a long search for a European quality Kachelofen (without the tiles) we found Sidl Masonry Heating. Carl worked with us to plan the best location in our home for the masonry heater - and then he came in and set to work! It was fascinating to watch the heater get built over 7 days and a couple of days later to have the stucco layer added. Since the heater was finished we have had it going - and 2 or 3 fires a day heats our home very comfortably. With the fire on (and for about 8-10 hours on), our furnace has not needed to be on - and that was our goal. Carl is extremely hard working and focused in construction mode, is very tidy (we lived in the space through the construction process) and is a real joy to have in our home. We are loving the warmth and the look of this efficient wood heater. Thank you Carl!

The Sidl team spent a week in our farmhouse-renovation, building this masonry heater. They worked long and hard, while being gracious and pleasant to be around. The heater itself is easy to use and produces a beautiful, even heat throughout our home for hours after the fire is out. We haven't entered the winter months yet, but feel prepared for the cold!

For side projects, Sidl Masonry Heating does great custom concrete work. I requested this beautiful concrete table with mixed beer glass, which shines beautifully in the sun, especially the colored pieces. They also made a custom cedar base with beveled corners, and together with this table top, it's a definite centerpiece! SMH can make tables, benches, or even small pieces such as candle holders.
