This is the second time we have used Alair Homes Aurora Newmarket to complete a major renovation on our historical home and once again have only positive things to say about the experience and the end result. Our project included redesigning the west bedroom space into 2 bedrooms with a Jack and Jill bathroom , widening the landing and opening the staircase which included some structural work. Throughout planning and build we felt listened to and the team always helped us work through our options keeping our budget in mind. This included putting in extra time to restore and reuse original historical trim & doors to stay in sync with the rest of the house. The Alair team went out of their way to coordinate with other contractors we had on site and we really appreciated their flexibility given that sometimes it derailed their timelines. We stayed in the home through the renovations and the site was always clean at the end of each day. The remainder of the home was respected and the team was always friendly and polite.

From day 1 when we were interviewing builders Alair stood out. David got right to work before we signed anything and started investigating/surveying the land and began communication with the town. Jason took over the build on the construction side, and although thrown a lot of curve balls with Covid and us, the owners making some design changes along the way, he navigated the project smoothly minimalizing delays, this was especially important given we had a baby girl on the way. The project was complete on time, and we are extremely happy with the outcome. We have been in our house for about a year now and still have 100% support from Alair, even last week Jason stopped in making sure everything is how it should be.

From the first dialogue regarding our project, right through to the final stages of completion, the Alair team has been nothing short of excellent. Our initial conversations and consultation gave us a clear and transparent sense of what we could expect regarding timeframes, process, quality of construction and overall budget. The fact that all of Alair's trade quotes were completely transparent made us know exactly what we were paying for prior to committing to the project. The oversight and communication from management reinforced to us how much they cared about our home and our family as our project commenced. There are many contractors who will initially promise the world, but then take their eyes off the ball once the project starts as they juggle other job sites. At Alair, we not only had management oversight, but we had a Project Manager dedicated to our project who was truly exceptional. Ben's years of experience and genuine concern for all of the little details, as well as maintaining accountability to our timeframe and budget provided complete comfort to us. Our project was completed on time, on budget and the finished project exceeded our expectations.

We worked with Alair Aurora/Newmarket on a complete home renovation on an older home in 2021/2022. Two major things we were looking for in a renovation company were for us to be able to have control over everything we chose for the house and that they prioritized customer satisfaction. Alair checked both of these boxes and we couldn’t have been happier with the result! We completely remodelled two floors of the house, including a full kitchen reno (taking down a wall), two bathrooms as well as flooring and all the finishes. We installed a gas line for the stove and we’re able to vent the stove outside. The companies Alair worked with for finishes were just as great. We worked with a great flooring company (who were able to customize the stairs exactly as I liked) and a wonderful kitchen company who was able to put my dream kitchen into place. Having Alair with us to coordinate all of these different vendors on a timeline that worked for us was exactly what we needed. Jason and David were great to work with! We had two project managers throughout the process. Both were very thorough in their communication and updates of the project. I loved that I had a weekly update on the project. A couple of things have popped up since the project ended and Alair was prompt in having someone come to fix it. Overall an enjoyable experience!

I just had a principle bathroom upgrade completed by Alair homes. The staff were all friendly and professional, with great communication throughout. There was an issue with how the drainage was functioning and it was addressed and repaired quickly and with minimal hassle from the Alair team, which to me is more illuminating on how the company is run than if there had been no issues. Overall ,the project took longer than expected (mostly due to supply issues beyond their control) but I was happy with the results. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

My husband and I bought the lot to build our dream home several years back – everything was perfect: the location, the lot size, neighborhood etc. Well, everything seemed perfect till we started our endeavor to find the right builder for us. He always kept us in the loop – never hiding anything – he was always brutally honest with us even when he had to deliver bad news. We have used the services of ALAIR Homes twice in the last 3 years in 2 different houses. They have been very professional and thorough in their work. They plan meticulously. Their project managers for both jobs, Ben and Alex are highly recommended. Their process is very transparent. You do pay an appropriate premium for the time and effort they have put in to select the right trades people. All their subcontractors have been very professional and go the extra mile to impress. In the last project, we had contracted an elevator company independent of ALAIR but needed ALAIR's team to do all other renovations for accessibility. The difference in timeliness, professionalism and transparency really stood out between the two teams with ALAIR having to in the end finish up on work that was supposed to have been done by the elevator company. Jason Barnes and Alex Walters went the extra mile for us in securing the elevator engineering approvals needed for the final municipality sign off on this project even though it should have been under the scope of the elevator company's work. We hired Alair Aurora/Newmarket to do a very complex renovation / addition to our home. Alair has been up to the challenge every step of the way. They have been easy to work with throughout the whole process. Jason and our project manager Ben are very responsive. I worked with Alair to demo and build a detached garage. Because my house is older, there were bylaw issues and a minor variance was needed to get a larger garage. A minor variance + COVID delays could have made for a painful process, but Alair made it a smooth and enjoyable process. Not only did I have a beautiful outcome, but the process was easy and stress free for me. Alair took care of absolutely everything - including the minor variance process. Alair Homes were terrific to work with. It was a real team collaboration between my wife and me and Alair Homes. I admit I was a bit skeptical at first, but when I saw it all come to together with the attention to detail and their genuine care for the job and our happiness I was convinced that this is the only way to do house renovations. It was not a worry at all and everyone of our friends that we told of our experience were very surprised that a renovation was carefree like it was. I like the way the website is set up to review our job, with precise dates, costs and how we reviewed them on a very regular bases. Every item that was to be installed, every subtrade that came in, was exactly as scheduled. Then there was our Project Manager Ben. He was awesome with his can-do attitude. He paid attention to every details from keeping our place super clean and organized during the process, it was gratifying to see. Ben went thru the schedule with us weekly and kept us updated regularly on any changes. He was meticulous with making sure we were satisfied with every detail. Overall, the experience as remarkable. We always knew what we were getting, when we were getting it and there was never a surprise on costs. Even when we changed our minds on a design piece (in our case added an extra long beam and opened up the house more), it was not a big deal with Alair and Ben and they had it done right away. Alair Homes Aurora, led by Dave and Jason was great.

Oh my gosh....where to begin. Just over a year ago we hired Alair Homes, Aurora to build our custom home. Our project was a big one and lots of detail so we knew we wanted a company we felt could meet our expectations. Alair nailed it! From the day we met with Jason and David we knew they were a good fit for us. We had interviewed other builders but were impressed with Altair’s transparency. We always knew what the bids were from subs, budget meetings every week, open communication and awesome project managers. I was very involved in the whole presses, from framing to finish I worked closely with our PM and Alair was very good with me and my sometimes crazy ideas! I have to say building our dream home during COVID wasn’t always the easiest and sometimes frustrating as you can imagine. But 100% support from them was so helpful. For most our our project Andrew was our PM and he did such an awesome job. He was a good fit for me to work with. Very detailed, great note taker, and always clam. He made sure to have the trades we hired there on time and finished on time. Ben has been supper helpful as well filling in when needed. As big of a project as it was and dealing with this crazy year of COVID it went pretty seamlessly. We have been in our new home now for a few months and everyday I look around and love everything about this house! Great job Alair! We have referred them to several people now. Where to start? Alair Homes Aurora & Newmarket was the best construction management experience we could have imaged. We did a sizeable renovation (~4,000 sq feet) and Alair made the process easy. From the first interaction, we felt a sense of connection with Alair. They were punctual, addressed our immediate and long-term concerns, answered all our questions, gave us points for consideration, and walked us through their end-to-end process. What we loved about Alair's approach was that nothing was hidden - all fees, expenses, anticipated trade amounts, and actual trades amounts were all outlined throughout the process. In addition to that, we (as the customer) were able to make the final decisions on which trades we wanted to work with, or what options we wanted to go with. Now, with all custom builds, especially renovations, problems do arise. Sometimes hard decisions needed to be made on the project, or snags came up with a specific trade, wishlist, or timeline. What made Alair so special was their ability to take a stressful event and to break it down into something consumable – Whether it be providing options, thinking outside the box, or proactively having a solution to a problem, they were always in our corner. From a project management perspective, Alair did an impeccable job at steering the ship. We cannot commend them enough on their ability to manage the project. We hired Alair for our upper floor renovation, which included 3 bathrooms, all new floors, doors, trim and a new staircase. From the first meeting with David, we felt confident that we would be a good fit. David listened to our goals and prepared a well detailed spreadsheet outlining the scope of work and proposed budget. Once approved, we met Ben, the project manager for our reno. Ben was amazing. Ben always shows up when he says he will, as well as, always being mindful of budget, keeping trades on track, keeping the site clean and paying attention to the many details. The outcome of Alair's professionalism and hard work, resulted in a home we love!!

This was our first renovation on our first home. Needless to say we were a bit nervous about what to expect with the whole renovation process. We reached out to Alair and immediately felt at ease. The Alair model worked really well for us. I really can’t say enough good about it. Their online software makes it easy to see and understand quotes, costs, and project timelines. It makes the process seamless. Dave, Jason, Jake and the whole team at Alair were amazing. They were always there to answer our 100’s of questions and they always respond to emails and phone calls quickly. Dave always took the time to make us feel comfortable and always provided us with great advice throughout the process. Beyond that, it’s their attention to detail that really makes them great. For example, Dave knew my rather tall husband was very excited about our master bathroom shower. Without us even thinking of it Dave made sure that the shower head was put extra high to accommodate my husbands height. My husband is thrilled to say the least! Just a note about the sub-contractors...I ended up meeting most of them(electrician, plumber, tiler, framer, tapers etc.) throughout the process while they were here working. They were all extremely professional, showed up on time and did fantastic work. We are thrilled with the end result. Our renovation was done on time and on budget. I've been thinking about doing a reno for the past year. I had one recommendation last year but I lived too far north for them. Doing a major renovation is something most of us dread, the mess, things are never quite done the way you want or expect, timelines are pushed and you often go over budget. Well this was not one of those renovations, the team at Alair Homes were fantastic from start to finish. They listened to our ideas, guided us through and we’re very patient as we went through multiple design iterations. Once construction started, the team excelled. We lived in the house whilst the renovation was going on and Alair made sure it was as comfortable as it could be for us. They were meticulous in trying to keep the dust contained and each day the place was cleaned to a state where we could still live. There was never an issue when we asked for corrections and Alair worked side by side with us to ensure decisions and changes met our expectations. This is my second project with Dave and the Alair Home Aurora team. Both were office renovations, the first was smaller in nature. The most recent completed in March 2019 and it was double the size. We hired Alair Homes to work with us on several small home renovations along with a complete renovation of our master bathroom. The entire experience was great. Jason Barnes our Project Manager was professional and always went over and above to ensure we were happy with the end product. He is a strong and active communicator and always available. You always knew what was happening and when. The quality of the trades used were fantastic and I could not be more happy with the end product. We went slightly over our budget but that is because I increased the scope by adding additional items to our original project plan. I highly recommend this company. They were very professional and our Project Manager, Jason, went above and beyond on the job. Their knowledge and work quality is way above standard. They had great ability to meet deadlines and budgets. We had a small delay on the kitchen cabinets but that was completely out of Alair's control.
