Solid, waterfall island with second height wood counter.
Massive! All same level counter for island.
another view - nice cabs
another view
Another view. Really quite a large kitchen - 25x25' ?
Yeah, maybe too much of the stylistic. But nicely done, and lots to learn from this kitchen.
Same kitchen, view 2. Like the color scheme. A bit big and clunky with the SS appliances and gizmos, but I like the scale consistency they achieved in this space.
NO - this has all the elements of style but it's on a budget that's too cheap.
Tons of white - really, the ceiling has the most wood accent color in this scheme. The counter is merged into the wall cupboard shelves and flows (waterfall) to the ground on the right. Note they have a wall of wood on the right -- a ribbon, actually.
Same house
Wow! Wood at entryway pops! Lots of Ceiling
Similar exterior. Including the walkway in need of repair, and lots of trees! (Greenville SC) Cypress siding.
Built a nice refig surround out of wood accents. Matched the door. Has red brick! Notice the gray concrete floor and the sense of "low overhead kitchen" -- almost feels Frank Lloyd Wright.
Nearby the kitchen - open plan.
Wood T&G ceiling, plus drywall ceiling -- good match on our environment. Solid white counter - check. Medium walnut (vertical grain here) - check. Some stainless. (Like the table and chairs) -- Open plan - check.
NOT quite right. What not to like? Black counter on right? Black framing on windows? Galley (not open) layout? Or just that the photo was taken with items on the countertops? Hmmm...
Overhead glulam beams, walnut, white.
Sort of an inverted color scheme again, lots of glossy white.
Whole lotta grain. Nice color scheme, quite open. Got the down lamps that are trendy.
Here's the before shot. It was bolted onto an 80s/90s house.
Definitely a warm, retro feel but bolted onto a 90's house.
For me this is a NO. Why? Range looks cheap. Wood grain is too much. Backsplash is too much -- and doesn't really fit with the super-cool, very subtle, modern feel. It feels like an 80's kitchen designer used the modern color palette.
Really like the lower level
white, sand and washed walnut. soothing colors.
NOT - but interesting for Modern. The backsplash matches the color for the cover on the fume hood.
Seems a bit too formal with some of the glossy white etc., But I like the dark wood and the way they detailed the wood peninsula bar area.
Not really, but I like the wood accent near the glass backsplash.
Cool wood eating area on peninsula. Two levels, but the outer level is lower. Hm..
Like the three upper cabs as separated. Nice color scheme. Interesting to have the floor so light!
Near miss - but Like this color and contrast
NO - Wood grain is too much.
Put the wood grain into the chairs, but not the cabs. Interesting. Might be better to save a lot of money and get the thermafoil/solid cabs?
Wood grain is just a little bit too much -- perhaps popping with the glaring white?
Cool, v. modern effects with the floating countertop over the glass cabs.
NOT what I like, but the ceiling swath with the wood edge detail is interesting for how much it affects the room.
May be the most likely choice -- but the wood and theme seems a bit retro right now. Take a lot of care with the actual wood color and grain and contrast for the final pick!
Hmm. Alternative approach to the ceiling and integration of the gray-washed woods.
Here we go! Look at the ceiling integration -- did they use tile with a reddish color? Like the cedar T&G ceiling. Like the white drywall. Like the darker wood color, with the fairly uniform grain. Fine with lots of white.
Cool. Not quite on target, I think, but room for thought.
NO - wrong wood. Take note that the style I want is quite wood-sensitive.
How about a wood backsplash? Works Ok for sink. Wood counter to match? Hmm.
Wood wall contrasted with all-white island.
Classic. White on top, wood on bottom.
Not quite the style I'm looking for -- surprising -- what's not quite right about this? Lots of elements that I thought I liked...
Marble/stone is not white, and it's great. Look how they integrate the huge wood cabs with their white. Note the lighting at the top of the cabinet, firing into the ceiling. MOMA!
