Dining Room Ideas
The price of this unit is a product of many factors. This all-wood unit by MARVIN Windows and Doors is a 4-wide unit and equivalent to the price of roughly four doors. It includes architectural hardware and a multi point locking system - both upgrades. The unit was custom built for this opening and its wall depth.
how will the pillars on the porch relate to the interior? just a question?
Steve and I really like the textures and over all feeling in this room. We like the scale of the fireplace, the fireplace wall and how the shelves and cabinets relate. We like the double wall appearance of the opening. We know that we can't do the raw beams, but having the raw wood shelves on either side of the fireplace is really nice. Instead of the bottom left cabinet, we could still have that interior space to serve as Stushie's area, a kind of sleep space and exit to his outside "chamber" :) The facing could be the same raw wood with the dog house cut out that we liked. Maybe have square windows above? This look opposite the Restoration Hardware piece could be cool. Also like the idea of a hanging fixture, although not that one.
Even though this wouldn't be for this project, we like the feeling, there's a sense of porousness that we hope to have in the addition
Maybe thinking more like a Carmel, CA house.........it's village like, but fresh with the wood/paint thing going on
Really like the windows. floor color in contrast with windows and table.
Doors are a little too standard. We like the measurements of the windows in the next picture better
wonder if we should bring in a painted panel look somewhere for texture and to echo the living room? RP: That's a good thought, but thinking it would need to be used somewhere consistently and I'm not seeing it yet.
Some interesting elements. Scale of stone, would also play well off of the RH piece on opposite wall if we use it. Whole look feels nice. Like those little square cubbies too. Bottom doors could be sliding doors for Stush. Is the fireplace honed granite? It looks like a more contemporary version of the fireplace in the living room.
Hi Rachel!
* Like the colors, nice mix* Not sure if it will clash with dining room chairs, but Steve and I both like the color and think that it can relate to the house
****windows seem timeless like the wood above the windows aswell
soothing colors, raw wood, paint, responding well to style too
nice floor color and cabinet color together
