Creative use for old wood
The plant-covered arch is a surprisingly appealing way to have a private lounge / dining space. I also like the brick walls, though I'm not sure we'd have an application for such things.
Too ornate, but I do like the idea of one room like this (wood paneling, warm lighting, maybe even a fireplace) for a study.
Huge floor-to-ceiling windows. Yay. Back of house. Maybe even front.
I tend to like large windows with modern treatments (probably only where they face light; windows without light feel dreary to me). I may actually prefer clean walls without crown molding, chair rails, etc.
Anti-example. Anything but this. I'd rather starve.
Probably not quite my style, but I really love the idea of a greenhouse sitting room with glass roof
An "office" as simple as this may be quite sufficient
I like the curved stairs, planting area without grass. Not wild about a big concrete expanse at the bottom. Stairs also have a small gap between treads and risers, with plants. Edible plants are close to the path.
high ceilings
I like the railing on this deck - if the back of the house is more modern-looking, I think it'd work well.
Vaulted ceiling with beams (we'd probably prefer wood); hidey spot.
We've talked about a small office space; I really like the idea of built-in storage and the ability to close it off. I suspect we'd need bigger than this, but not a whole lot bigger.
Hm - we do have a very flexible space right next to the mudroom
