Great Room
According to the Laurel & Wolf quiz, our style is transitional “An effortlessly sophisticated blend of traditional and contemporary styles, Transitional balances both masculine and feminine characteristics. This style relies on clean furniture lines in a neutral palate with a liberal dose of textures to amp up the sophistication. A minimalist approach to accessorizing allows for the quality to shine through.” I would say that about nails it. Jeff likes clean lines, minimal (or none) décor, but comfortable. I try to have well-edited vignettes to add some color and happy. Casual but nice, relaxing, soothing, a place where the wedding china goes in the dishwasher and the pieces mean something. A well lived-in elegance I suppose?
I would move into the ‘From Belgium with Love’ bookmark in a heartbeat. Casual but nice, mix of high and low so it isn’t formal but the guest (and us most importantly) still feels a bit pampered.
Cabinet under tv
Below the tv?
Vaulted ceiling with dark beams. Light and airy, casual but nice. Like the tall furniture legs letting light through.
Beam across bottom of vault, arch to kitchen
Similar to our plan: linear fireplace, beams on pitched ceiling, bank of windows on high wall. Décor is a bit retro (end table, back table, lamps, color of floor and tables?). Will not have built-ins around fireplace, would do smooth stone/tile on fireplace. Fan instead of chandelier. Either darker or lighter floors. Tv over fireplace
Beams on ceiling w/ tall set of windows. Bit on the rustic side for my taste, but the furnishings keep it from being kitschy.
Beams on ceiling but flat-topped fireplace. 19'x21' so almost our dimensions. Arch as casement, though not on beam wall.
dark tile
Like the tile work; how wide is fireplace? Overwhelming to have for 13+ ft?
Height of firebox off floor -what is the right height so the firebox doesn't get lost in the room? Also TV mounted or inserted?
This 6015 is the front runner right now (the insert not the marble) . Won a 2015 design award!
Here is the 4415. We like the black enamel fireback that reflects the flames, as well as the color of glass. No stones though.
Ceiling beams. Would want smooth stone/tile. We will have a flat 'weight-bearing' beam horizontally across the wall so fireplace will not surround vault beam. -T&C ws54 firebox
How big is this room? How long is this fireplace?
Fireplace as dominant feature with simple walls on either side. Firebox set high off floor for visual impact. T&C ws54 firebox
Manufacture's info on the 6015 and 4415
T&C ws54 off-center tile...weird with TV? weird for 14' high?
How high off floor to put fireplace? This seems high for room with couches?
bottom of fireplace is 30" off floor, we like this height. How long is wall?
54"wx18"h - this is the clean trim vs the next pic with surround and bezel. Depends on the tile? Would assume we go with clean trim.
DRL6500 -54"x19" by Superior Fireplace One with which we are going.
Difference between DRL6500?
Fireplace is 39" x 19" ...set very close to floor.
Beams and modern furnishings.
White chairs are a tad modern, but like the height of fireplace and minimal amount of decor.
Gray and warm neutrals working together
Dark beams on tall ceiling
21" between fireplace and tv....will partially dictate how high fireplace can be off floor.
