Kitchen: The color of the wood is too dark, there is another picture on Maria's set which shows the sand color we want. I like the idea that it looks like built ins on the back wall. Take away the wall ovens and it will look better. Since the kitchen is open to the dining room and living room we do not want it it look like a kitchen. The appliances should be hidden as much as possible. The microwave drawer in the island and the fridge should have a panel on it. I like the idea of the opening for the stove and oven on the back wall. We will not go with stainless steel on the back wall but some sort of tile maybe glass. The counter tops should be man made and no design in them. Again not to bring your eye to them while you are in the other rooms. I like the idea of thin tops rather then the built up ones on the side. The main question we must answer is can we put the sink on the island. The other question is whether the stools which Maria wanted go with this. The appliances which we have chosen last year are Subzero Wolf 42" Fridge, 30" induction cooktop, 30" E series oven, 24" microwave drawer, Miele crystal dishwasher, and Jennair 30" euro-style wall-mount hood.
Flowing linesHallway: I like the way the corners on the walls are flowing with the detail on the ceiling. Also the recessed squares for the lights might work in increasing the height of the ceiling. I do not think that we have space to create a bulkhead since the ducts are too wide and as discussed it will look weird. The chandelier is nice detail at the entrance along with the sconces along the hallway to breakup the tunnel effect. Another idea Is to have art work on the walls. The floor detail is great although not overbearing it adds some wow to the floor. Although I said I did not want a bar after seeing this photo I think the way it is done here is perfect. Remember we are moving the double doors to the hot water heater and replacing them with a door from the bedroom. Also we are taking out the coat closet. A lot of the photos with hallways like ours have round tables in them. I am indifferent to the idea and leave it upto you.
