The rectangle tiles on the ground as well as the paper sphere decor are both uses of form in a space. The tiles are more of a shape (a type of form) while the spheres are a mass (another type of form). The rectangles and circles both give a sense of unity and stability, while the circles provide a relief from the monotony of the simple rectangles.
The natural light from the windows and the installments in the ceiling are both examples of light in the room. The light will affect the way the colors work in the room as well as how one feels in the room. This emphasis on natural lighting makes the room feel breathable and more connected to the environment.
This room is an example of symmetrical balance. If you were to paint a line down the center of the photo, you would see that the chairs are reflected on either side of the room, as are the sofas, the mirrors, the wood beams, etc. This balance makes this space feel peaceful and pleasing to the eye. This look has the potential to become boring, but the use of different colors and patterns aids it from feeling lackluster.
This room is an example of asymmetrical balance because if you draw a line down the center of the room, there are elements that make it asymmetrical. There is light coming in on one side and a solid blue wall on the other, there is a lamp on one side but not the other, there is a sofa on one side but two chairs on the other, etc. This type of balance makes the room look more interesting than if one side of the room was simply repeated on the other.
The garden structures are examples of repetition in the space as there is repeated forms within the structures as well as simply having the three of them in a line gives off that repeated look. This look gives the space a nice added rhythm, but allows it to still be interesting with the unique form the graden structures take.
The cabinets— their shape and the way they are stacked on top of each other— are examples of vertical lines in the space. This design choice gives a feeling of strength to the room and the illusion of height.
