Lee Family Residence Remodel Project Ideas
Doors throughout home
Churned double doors for entry
Possible updated Spanish design elements for front entry.
Possible door style for throughout.
Niche above mantle..possibly in MBR?
Close up of fireplace details and niche.
The nook/niche added above the mantle - if we did not create a tapered hood above the wood beam mantle, we could create a niche or nook instead.
Tile
Chandelier is beautiful plus the light colored Spanish tile centerpiece inset used above the cooktop in this kitten would be a beautiful tile to use surrounding your fireplace. Soft tones and gorgeous Spanish style design.
The Chandelier
If we decided to change out the chandelier pendant hanging in the entry square tray ceiling once it's updated and before or after the front doorway design at entry is updated.
What do you think of the brick design/design shape on this fireplace?
This brick would be beautiful. This is a true German schmear look.
This also utilizes all of the elements mentioned in the previous photos, but with brick (instead of tile as shown in the two other photos) outlining the fireplace center. Would would use a much lighter brick though.
What do you think about the design/color pallet of the brink on this fireplace? A brick similar (a bit lighter and less busy though) to this would look beautiful with the darker mantle beam and corbels, and would not compete with your kitchen tile backsplash.
Cross beams such as this with corbels or end caps at the ends and no center beam as shown, would be quite beautiful in the family room also.
A simpler style without tile or brick, but still utilizing the beam mantle (would still use corbels) and taper to ceiling above the mantle. Also like the added shallow depth outward from wall to define the fireplace.
A tapered Spanish Colonial detail above the dark wood beam mantle and corbel, would add beauty and tasteful character to the design of your fireplace. A muted brick below the mantle would pair beautifully and would accent the style without detracting from your kitchen backsplash tile. We would then repeat the same tile in your entry square tray ceiling.
Tapered detail above the fireplace. Could bring entire FP design slightly outward that the entire fireplace façade from ledge to ceiling would be bumped out or protrude slightly - this would define the actual fireplace even more and add to the Spanish Colonial design touches.
Love the beam with corbels, the defined fireplace slightly protruding outward from wall, the tapered detail from mantle to ceiling, and the simple tile square around the fireplace opening.
How do you feel about possibly adding a Spanish Colonial style tapered
Here is an example of a deeper square inset or tray ceiling with a wood detail, like what I was suggesting for your entry. This adds beautiful richness and texture.
I want a hint of Spanish Colonial in these hues.
I like the color and texture of this fireplace. Something like this but not this particular brick. I like the beam mantle and I already have the corbels I want to use.
I like the dramatic light fixture and the colors in the room. I think I want painted book shelves. But this room has a lot of the elements that I appreciate.
I like the texture and color of the fireplace. I'm not sure about brick, but if it is brick, then a very light color.
I like the warm color of the book shelves
I like the color palate on the walls. It is cozy but not overwhelming.
I like the color, the rail, and the depth of these bookshelves.
Master bedroom fireplace wall adjoining media wall - both need reconfiguring to accommodate these plus library needs and wishes of the family. More functional applications and design elements are required.
Arched inset next to kitchen that needs a built-in cabinet recessed within inset space to house printer and other office necessities.
Adjoining kitchen and dining room (tray ceiling shown partially) that is part of open floor plan encompassing all three areas that include the family room as well. Tray ceiling needs to be simplified.
Another look from kitchen into family room. Looking toward existing fireplace, media, and library configuration across both the back wall of family room and adjoining side interior wall. Needs reworking to meet family’s needs and style.
Bella Wood Beam Installation in beautiful Desert Willow (rough hewn with distressed Pecan stain) finish.
