Kitchen Renovation- Jan 2021
Darcie: Pretty! Sue: I don’t think I’m a fan of the light gray cabinets. Don’t know exactly why but I think it reminds me of a “painted” color and maybe a money-saver idea that we’ve already done? Nothing wrong with that but something about the way they look in this photo just isn’t a “yes” for me. Andy- I’m not a fan of grey cabinets either.
Darcie: Look past the modern style flat panel doors and see the warm contrast of the white against the tan. Mix of lowers and uppers in brown and white. Sue: I like the contrast of the tones but not sure I like the all one color on bottom and alternate color on top. Andy- I’m ok with mixing a colors on an island or a set of cabinets but not all of them.
Darcie: Maybe something like this with two seats on one side instead of both? Sue: I like the idea of one or two seats on the interior island but they would have to be backless and just slide under. When I see this pic I feel like I’d be working around the chairs (they’d be in the way) for 90% of the time. I do like the idea of having a seat or two but only if they are not in the way and don’t take away too much storage. Andy- I like this idea.
Darcie: Really like this one - tan is pretty, white is crisp! Sue: I agree. I like both cabinet colors but the white backsplash is too blended with the white cabinets (in my opinion). Andy- I like the idea of the wood going to the edge of the counter and I too think the backsplash is too light.
Darcie: Grey and white with a warm floor. Sue: I think we’re steering away from a drastic gray. I see photos with gray tones that I like but they seem to be more subtle and subdued. Andy- I worry that grey is in today and may be dated soon so I like stained cabinets.
Darcie: The tan is not the right color - too orange but a good example of a mix of two tones. Sue: I like this combo of the sides of the stove-top for contrast cabinets or the “island only” contrast as the other favorite. Andy- I like the idea of contrasting color on the cabinets where the cooktop is and maybe the islands but I’d have to see it.
Andy- I really like this tupperware idea! Sue likes this too!
Andy- Good utilization of space for cleaning supplies. Sue - I like the 2 drawer idea rather than 2 cabinet doors. Andy- I agree!
Andy- My FAVORITE cabinet color. Sue likes this cabinet color alot also but not a fan of the waterfall island concept. Andy- still a fan of the color and style of these cabinets.
