Kitchen Ideas
The chandelier over the 2nd island is an interesting idea.
We are open to ideas on backsplash behind stove. Subway tile (like picture here) could be an option. We also like the idea of brick or stone that matches the outside of our house.
If we choose travertine floor (rather than hardwood), we thought incorporating some wood (distressed/weathered like pictured here) into the island could be interesting.
As mentioned, backsplash behind range/stove done in brick could be an option like shown here.
Regarding cabinets, we don't want a stark white; we are considering more of an off-white type color like in the attached.
Here is another cabinet color example that we thought was nice.
We thought the thicker counters were interesting; we also thought that the marble/granite matching backsplash (other than behind range/stove) was nice. We are still thinking about best options for counter color.
We are interested integrating a copper piece into the kitchen (we like our copper gutters). We are considering either the hood or the sink. I am curious to get your thoughts on whether a copper hood with stainless stove/range would look okay.
We like the lantern style pendants; however, we don't like the shiny gold finish. We prefer something with a more weathered look. We like the chunky/thick feel of the island. The backsplash is interesting.
Sink, handles/knobs
Hood
We prefer the range/oven combination like that pictured here. In that case, there is no need for a separate double oven so we can take that out of the design. Maybe we can insert a small sink in that location.
Hood
For flooring, we want either travertine (exactly like what we have outside) or hardwood like what is in basement (except less knotty/rustic).
Wood top on island
Wood decorative legs on island
The blunt nose, think counter is interesting.
