Maggie's Ideas
built in seat
love the bookshelves over the wide doorway/passage way - like the whole thing actually
beautiful hallway
lovely glass fronted cabinet
gorgeous arched window
lovely sage green colour
like these upper windows - could be good in the study or the ground floor bedroom
Thermally broken steel external door system, by Artsteel. As a cost saving, the frame is steel but the divisions are stuck on to the glass - impossible to tell the difference
the sliding door solution to areas that need to be both opened up and sealed off at different times
very beautiful colours
love the bookshelves! Also good 'broken plan'
still like 'distressed' furniture - boho glamour!
wow - snakeskin wallpaper!
the joy of large windows
quite like the shelves instead of cabinets (although there are lots of downsides of shelving eg more dust and dirt)
it's exactly what I hate. Why make a home look like an office/boardroom etc? This silly obsession with 'clean lines' must end!
the candles are wonderful
just rather lovely
The wonderful dark blue colour
Curtains AND sliding panels - yay!
attractive, though possibly not enough separation?
15 ways to create separation. text accompanying pic says you could also use bi-ethanol or electric rather than gas
also from same article called '15 ways to create separation' sent to me by email of 28 July 2021
This pic comes from whole article about 'broken-plan' and how to define separate zones within one large open plan space
The ugliest extension and garden I have ever seen
This is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for re our downstairs open plan (broken plan?) space
sliding doors if small patio or garden (could make them visually link up with other internal doors in the ground floor living space)
rather beautiful and cool bedroom
just wonderful - the whole scheme - so much light and great windows
Gotta get a hammock like that!
curvy lawn and brick edge is good
the very worst kind of modern minimalist garden - a very ugly garden indeed
very pretty (though possibly a bit fussy)
a bit coldly geometric for me, but there are some good ideas here nevertheless
Good use of gravel in a small garden
also beautiful - foliage around eating area is important
a lovely outdoor space (by Joanne Bernstein)
lovely wooden pergola
make mirrors your friends, says caption to photo
use of dark colours for intimate cosy space - being brave with colour can be good
A pergola and umbrella instead of a verandah?
so pretty (after forty pix of hideous modernist glass box patios)
a possibility?
not the perfect example but zoning with different floorings, wall colour etc can break up a too-big open plan space
bifold doors that are invisible when open are exactly what we want
quite like the drawer opening method, handle-free
