Virginia House
The style, not the color or material. No leather, no piping, no skirt, but the style is without fitted (non-interchangeable) seat or back pillows, it's a good size with a decent arm drop. I'd want a similar one in a nice fabric if my current one doesn't work or can't be repaired.
Mixed material siding, metal windows, deep overhang, overall style.
Renovated mid-century exterior
Renovated mid-century porch (upper level)
Renovated mid-century Upper Level layout.
Renovated mid-century Upper Level
Love the functionality of this sink, but I probably can't afford it; also, it's too big. I think Franke also makes similar styles, only smaller, but I likely can't afford those either.
Like the cab color (white oak & black glassed fronts), countertops (quartzite), black window frames, though I'm not really going for "rustic."
High ceiling in the master bedroom, though not vaulted. If I can't have the set-up I have now with my bed, a niche like this would do (but I'd still need my shelf/cab behind the bed).
Windows (at ceiling and around the corner along the wall); also electric fireplace &tv placement (same width), though I'm curious about where the auxiliary equipment is located.
Love the color of the wood on the ceiling.
Another view of the kitchen & banquet. Formerly low ceiling has been slightly vaulted and it makes a huge difference. (#3)
Cab feature detail - offset "floating" walnut box w/ LED pucklights to show off glass art, plus an uplight for the glass vase sitting on top. (#2)
Several interesting details on these cabs, with good storage. (#1)
Like the lighting design (though not the fixtures) over the island; also the beautiful waterfall island with wood overhang.
Sideways entry door. Lots to like about this house; wish I could see the inside.
Nice landscaping on a small lot; appears relatively low maintenance.
Is this type of landscaping/hardscaping possible to keep clean?
Small house; mixed materials; casement windows
Coffee (or toaster or both) garage cab
Charging stations in a drawer (or a shallow cab)
Extension of island with dining table may save needed space, since my dining table is small anyhow, but extendable out one side.
Acquabella Curbless Shower Floor?
Laptop Ledge - Similar to the charging drawer in the previous photo, the slim open shelf beneath the countertop of this Maryland island by M Woodruff Design has outlets at the back so the owners can easily charge and stow their laptops. Drawers at one end of the island store paper and other office supplies.
A charging drawer outfitted with plugs and outlets (like this one built by Mannino Cabinetry in New Jersey) not only keeps the counter clear and your devices safe, but also heads off that “Where’s my phone?” panic each morning.
Blackband Design equipped a niche at one end with two dog bowls and a pot filler for easy top-ups. Marble and mosaic tile protect the wooden island and floor from sloshing water.
Speaking of handy, frequent paper towel users will appreciate this feature in an Atlanta kitchen by Innovative Construction. The homeowner can grab a single paper towel from the front roll when the drawer is closed and store extra rolls behind it.
Curbless shower & great storage cabs.
Frosted glass in the shower. Fold-back glass creates a bench (unnecessary, but a nice touch). Wood-look tile mirrors the vanity somewhat. Overall, bright & airy room despite the dark colors.
Wood grain matches on the lower cabs
Like that shelf detail that runs in front of the window - a great place for a nice piece of art glass.
Laundry in the bathroom; not a bad idea, if there's some way to access behind those machines for cleaning & maintenance.
Lots of storage, in drawers!),
Floating storage drawers on the outside of the island.
Interesting in many ways.
Clean, simple cabs create a nice media wall, though I'd prefer it with a linear electric fireplace.
Nice feel: good mix of finishes & great light.
The shelf seems a good alternative to a niche, especially if it's on an exterior wall.
Nice mix of materials. Ovens & refrigerator embedded into cabs (not sticking out, and with surrounds). Informal eating area with built-in seating.
Nice and subtle contrasting tile in the shower backsplash.
Chevron Mosaic by Daltile. Pretty.
I've always liked these horizontal layout, though not these particular tiles. It doesn't look it, but the caption says these are 4 x 16" (they look smaller) and that it also comes in 3 x6". I'd prefer the larger size in a colored glass tile.
