Dana's Laundry/mud room ideas
If we end up not removing the wall between entryway and the laundry room, we could put up shiplap, on the entryway walls, if it's not too trendy. Ask Bobby for his thoughts. It might be a nice feature, instead of just painted walls. I would still want the same two hanging hooks on the wall, if we're keeping it there.
I saved this picture because I was interested in exploring the idea of removing the entry wall (as you walk in side door to the right) and opening up that space. It would be one bigger room. Just a thought. Maybe not a good one. We would need to reconfigure some stuff but it might be a good option. Not sure.
Our sink is on the opposite side of the w/d combo, but I like having a actual sink/cabinet combo so we can hide stuff in the cabinet. Probably need to replace the open shelving in our mud/laundry room and do some sort of closed shelving so it looks neater but still functions. Maybe the area to the left of the fridge can be reconfigured with upper cabinets. I'd love to have a small bench area in there, but I'm not sure there's enough room. I don't know how it would look to remove the wall to the right, as you come in the side door. It would open up that space, but it might not look that good.
I like the use of space underneath the window. Of course, we have a litter box underneath the window in our laundry room, but I'm sure there's a way to incorporate that.
I like having a counter running under the window. I'd like that in our laundry/mud room, but we need to keep space for the cat's litter box area. Maybe an open cabinet where the litter box could be placed but later on, if needed, you could put a cabinet door over the space to close it in, possibly.
Great info to consider when getting ready to remodel the laundry/mud room.
